WELL NOW IT'S TIME AND IT'S STILL GIVING ERROR.
Brah.
Seriously. This made my head asplode at work, and I just happened to get off at 11:15am, giving me just enough time to come home and make a sandwich before noon.

I think most HC players don't want to actually die. The point of HC is to not die. If you're suggesting that a player will find it fun to learn about a bosses abilities in a Youtube video after or before dying. Then I think they don't even know themselves. I think they want to feel a real threat but to overcome it, to suggest they want to not know anything about a boss and die from that lack of knowledge that would be incorrect. If you are being over optimistic and saying a player will never die in HC from a lack of foresight then so be it.

That's what everyone is thinking after reading that article
But if you read updated Daeity's blog you see that he thinks that those are comparable very small changes which just were made to look big for everyone and hide the real reason for the delay. And I can agree with that. Removal of scroll, UI changes, Cube and Jordan - all all minor changes. The only bigger change is stats revamp, but this is just a math, it can't take that long to balance.
I mean, do they really delay the game for 3+ months just to get those changes? That's sounds funny.
Edit: and Daeity's post has just been delete from his blog.. strange.

and really, what's the deal with Korea? can't they make up their minds? (yes, the reason for the delay in release date for D3 has to be them, it's the only logical explanation that is left!) so (being sarcastic here) if N. Korea attacks the South and they go to war, will the game be delayed for that? are they waiting for the S. Korea exams to finish or something so more people would play? just rate the game with the equivalent of what the ERSB has and you'll be good to go! it's not rocket science! why? why? why????
Tyrael chucked his sword of justice at the worldstone, and since then it was supposedly found by one mortal and used for a bit. Its whereabouts are currently unknown. Thus why he's not wielding it.Quote from Duke91
i think that the second angel that appears is not Tyrael, but Auriel, cause in the video it shows the angel holding some kind of spear, not a sword
Vessel vs vassal? Is he possessing her or is she doing it willingly? I'm going with vessel.Quote from MassFragg

Ehmmm...Well,if Diablo hasn't a wife (who apparently hasn't) then...Who's the Diablo-like lady in the Retrospective video..? Any clues?
That is leaving a lot of people thinking that diablo's new vassal is Leah, Deckard Cain's niece. I want to point out that nothing is confirmed, this is only rumor.
Pass the cool hwhip.Quote from JaundiceBunny
Reminds me of that one Family Guy episode where Stewie keeps saying it like that to Brian...
When Justice falls upon the world of man? The worldstone explosion vaporized him, and his essence was trapped in a piece of the worldstone (just like a soulstone) which shot into space for 20 years, orbited Santuary, then came crashing down into the Cathedral. Bam, instant Tyrael, just add water.Quote from BBR
So, tyrael has fallen, it seems?
And Lea sacrifices herself to save decard cain.
The plot thickens!
can't wait to see the full videos.

Say the way they've coded dyes if they just cut and paste that for legendaries it might make legendaries with particle effects (smoke/fire/etc.) suddenly have those effects dyed that color. You dye your shoulders blue and suddenly the fire coming out of the demon skull's mouth on your shoulder turns blue. In order to have the shoulder be dyed blue with particle effects that aren't dyed might require too many copies of those animations loaded into memory at once, bogging down system performance, so they decided to just not make them dyed at all.
1. In theory, allowing public MP1+ games would result in the coop public community being spread out too thin. Instead of 10 people on act 3 quest 4, you'd have them spread out across several MP levels and nobody would have a full game. In reality, the people wanting higher MP levels aren't in the public games anyways. I'd be interested to see how it would really work out.
2. NV stacks are not solely for rewarding players for sticking to one build. They are also there to prevent the single boss farm. If I had NV5 stacks all the time, I would log in and instead of doing an Alk run I'd just kill Azmodan in 2 seconds, collect my 20 rares and 3 legendaries off his body, tp, exit game, and do it again. Or how about key runs/uber runs? Log in, find keywarden, done.
3. This would be kulle, but my guess is everyone would pretty much one shot each other without PvP balancing the skills so I don't see much point.

Yup. I already have more fun than I did in D2. Got my wizard set up as an archon paragon Alk farmer, and set my barb as a throwing keywarden/uber killer. Try the Act 2 keywarden on a throwing barb, damn near 1 shots you if you throw an axe at him while he's spinning, which is... like... all the time. Had to make specific builds for each boss. Nothing like that in D2, just mindless casting the same spells for 69 levels.
People sure are whiny about the games giving them 200+ hours for $50... or free if you do it right. Or you make $1000.

Get crazy lucky with a drop or two. Like almost perfect roll high end set/legendary.
Flip the AH and spend 90% of your time looking at listings.
Buy it on the RMAH.
Very few people have legitly found their way to a billion gold. I've been playing as much as you and I just broke 20 million for the first time (non-inclusive of equipped gear) by selling a single rare amulet with 6 good affixes for 25m. I have flipped a couple items before for profit, but I don't like spending much time in the AH and rather go melt face.
Edit:
By the way, I've found almost all of my legendaries from white trash mobs. Keeps 2 > all elite packs.

Apply Occam's razor. Is it more likely:
Someone programmed drop rates based on a table of data.
Someone programmed drop rates based on a table of data but senior programmers wrote secret code nobody else knows about that analyzes several data points including play time/frequency and RMAH usage and then dynamically changes drop rates to encourage more sales.
With a lack of evidence on both sides, use logic to determine the MOST likely choice.

2. Wrong. You see twenty Andariels before a Mempo because their drop rates are different. The hard coded drop rates are unknown, even if it's known what the relative drop rates of ALL legendaries vs rares is.
3. The people that have the highest sales on the RMAH farm the least, they spend most of their time flipping the AH.
4. If something of this magnitude were true, too many people would know for it to be a secret. A company like Blizzard wouldn't risk their reputation on something like this when it brings in a fraction of the dollars that WoW's subscription does. This is something like the argument about online poker sites rigging hands to produce more action. They don't need to do that because they would lose far more money if that information ever got out. They're raking it in already, there's no sense in increasing that by 5-10% with such a huge risk.
5. I'm not sure you know what "evidence" means. My first 200 hours of play on my wizard produced 2 legendaries while leveling, and zero at 60. Yesterday I got four in about two hours. 1200 hours is not a large enough sample size. You would need a ridiculously comprehensive test to verify something like this.
6. Isn't any.

1. MP0 really isn't that difficult if you focus on EHP very much at all and if you're a cautious player.
2. Right now the major builds are critical mass stunlock of some sort (variety of skills usable), archon, and then generic kiting builds (blizzard venom hydra, arcane based temporal flux kiting focused on magic missile, arcane orb, and arcane hydra). The kite builds are certainly the slowest, but they are the safest.
3. You playing with others makes it a bit tricky. You still don't want to play critical mass because you'll be in melee. At some point, fire chains/arcane/molten will just eat you. I don't recommend CM in hardcore until you have outstanding gear. Archon requires kills to stay active, so I don't recommend a spec focused on that for coop. I don't recommend it at all because the moment you use archon you lose all of your defensive/escape abilities, and something will happen, and you'll regret not having teleport/frost nova/diamond skin. You could just make a generic build with some offensive skills and some defensive skills since you'll have people tanking for you. That's really your choice and you could pick whatever skills you want.

But if it all hits the fan and you need to run away and kill elites solo, you may prefer a kiting build.

4. If you can get to 30-40k DPS that should be plenty for MP0, obviously the more the better as long as you're not sacrificing EHP. A "black" weapon (no elemental damage, just physical only) with a triumvirate offhand are the go-to right now for solid DPS. While you will want to dedicate most of your gear to defense, you can use a couple of slots to get your DPS to where you will want it, gloves is the ideal slot.
I.E. most slots you will want Vit/AR/Armor and Int if possible. Any life regen or DPS stats are bonuses.

I would put frost nova into RMB and put in sparkflint instead of hydra, and glass cannon instead of CM. If that's for low MP farming, you should be trying to melt everything instantly. I can understand frost nova for elites, but hydra is a waste of a click. Everything should be dead before it even attacks once. I can't imagine CM is causing enough procs for it to be worth it. Shouldn't even need to use DS or frost nova more than once per cooldown.

Lol... it's amazing because the WC3 basic "most recent games on top" format was awful and basically first year programming material... and they managed to take a step back with SC2's popularity based system.
The garbage AH UI is most certainly by design, simply poor design. For several months we couldn't even search by +damage on offhands, which only happens to be one of the basic core stats on an offhand piece for wizards and WDs. It would be like not having the ability to sort by DPS on weapons or even see the DPS without mousing over them. It still amazes me how hard it is to find items with skill specific bonuses. Minus fury on Weapon Throw? Either sort by the skill and click through pages of belts to find an amulet or ring or two, or look for specific uniques and click through pages of them mousing over each looking for the specific skill. Ugh.

If you have the DPS, it is quite easy to make a successful build basically turning yourself into a perma-archon with better mobility and utility for low MP farming with disintegrate and wormhole->teleport among others (I still like the width/length of the archon beam, though).
In higher MPs, fights take way longer. This isn't necessarily an issue with arcane power if you have the right gear (minus disintegrate cost and/or slow 2her) and build. You will, however, be taking far, far more hits than a critical mass build, and you will be taking those hits without the increased EHP from archon. If your goal is to do ubers as a pure DPS while someone else tanks/stunlocks, that's fine, but then any build is fine in that situation.

Instead of trying to be clever and limit your affix choices by what that slot rolls, if they instead allowed you to search all affixes on all slots it would improve the search dramatically.

To all the haters: an item's value is whatever someone is willing to pay for it. If someone else is posting items below the maximum it will sell for, that's their fault.
P.s. I don't flip. No capital.

Pretty much what I was going to post. By swapping just a couple of gear pieces you can go from archon facesmashing low MPs act 3 farming straight into CM stunlock mode for key/uber farming. There's very little thought left in wizard play as every other spec is either for fun or to cover up deficiencies in gear (kiting). It's amazing how bad most of our skills are compared to disintegrate/archon and CM builds at even medium gear levels.
