This may be a dumb question but will the skill runes work for barbarians as well or is it strickly for casters?

The Berserker skill tree seems like it focusses on hit-and-run tactics, with skills like Leap Attack, Increase Speed and Whirlwind. It also seems like he will have few defensive abilities for a melee character. And of course, fast attacks and high damage. So yeah, definately hit-and-run. I suspect the attacks are supposed to use alot of fury, because there are skills in there that help you with fury management, just they hadn't implemented the costs yet or something..

Juggernaut means unstoppable. With skills like Iron Will, I definately see why it's called the Juggernaut skill tree. So where the Berserker tree focusses on hit-and-run, this tree focusses on staying right in the middle of the enemies and whacking them until they're dead. At least, that's what it seems like to me. So he's a bit more survivability, less damage, and he has skills to ensure he can keep moving and can't be slowed down. This is of course needed, since he misses Leap Attack.

So that just leaves the Tank build for Battlemaster. Still, for a tank build, there's quite a few damage increasing skills there. But, it's Diablo after all :) Death Proof seems like an incredible skill btw.

What puzzles me is that the Juggernaut tree has Taunt in it. Maybe going Juggernaut/Battlemaster hybrid will be the way to go for tanking. I suspect that boss battles will be more challenging in D3, which will create (if not a need than at least) a use for tanks.

So... I think just because of Death Proof I'll probably be going Battlemaster with my first hardcore character. But I'm more interested in the Wizard right now..

I completely agree. I think that a Jugg/Battlemaster hybrid build would be amazing esspesially if you are going to be play solo more often than not. The only question is whether or not you are going to have as many bonus skills (like in d2lod when you complete certain missions you get a skill book). So really its going to be hard to tell how far you could get into 2 trees, but I do agree/

I would probably go down the Jugg tree and whatever I have left make my way down the battlemaster tree
