I'll stream a few attempts tonight prob around 10-11 pm CST. Not gonna stream for too long, but you can get an idea on how I group mobs up solo, same will apply in groups.
it's not only about the arcane dynamo stacks, you want to make sure your 5 stacks are up when convention of elements hits arcane for your damage spike (aka blow everything up). coe ticks, frost > fire > arcane > lightning, so make sure arcane dynamo is up just when fire runs out, then hit ao for burst dmg, stack ad again and spam your little heart out until fire comes up again since every ao cast reduces slow time cd by 2 seconds and you want to cover as much space as possible to counter vortex and knockback before they happen.
Yes, I know that. I was watching quinns video, and he was spamming AO even before 5 stacks, I was curious if refreshing it made it hit more often.
Very intresting variation of the Archon! I'm currently trying to pass my 68 with it, and the results so far are not bad at all!
Still, I really think that the use of the Enchant+Deflection and AW is the best combo, but by mixing the Classic Archon and the Fire ideas you bring here, you get an super nice result!
I got rid of deflection for flame-blades. I like it more. The deflection at 71+ solo's didn't help at all.

Yes. The hydra build while does more damage than standard, the lack of teleport using Aethers out of Archon makes it so you have to fish even more for ideal rifts. So I just got rid of mammoth's for arcane torrent and dropped CDR.
Would prefer to come on my fire vyrs wiz (people underestimate it's damage output). But have a fully ancient geared HoTA barb as well. Looking to get 1200+ para (currently 810) to push #1 U.S for wiz by end of season.

~Had the first floor not been terrible, had to end up skipping to the next causing me to lose 2-3 minutes.
~Had I not gotten greedy going back for the 2-3 rares with conduit. Had I killed the low rare, and then pushed forward and cleared the entire next area - I could have had the rift guardian with ~6-8 minutes remaining.
~Had he not spawned far away, I would of had a lot of archon stacks going into him which allows me to continuously get 100+ stacks and snowball. But since I had to start from 0 it took awhile to ramp up.
~You drop zodiac out of cube and replace with unity. Because of this you have too get CDR in every available slot (70%+). I'm at 70.8% with gogok's and I have perfect CDR roles on every piece.
~Use serpent sparker over fulminator for two mammoth's.
My thoughts/opinions on this build:
~I believe this has a higher grift potential than the others, simply because it's strength is based around the density of the rift. As you can see in the video, the times I was able to get 200+ archon stacks, and 200+ flameblades - I had my mammoth's over 5.0 APS dealing 500m-1bill per hit. On top of the initial burst damage of archon with the flameblades and CoE (fire) would nearly one shot large (good progression) mobs that normally have 100b+ health.
Technically there is nothing stopping you from AD-buffing your hydras before activating Archon and of course during archon downtime. In this d3planner model you can see how this could work (the build marked Unity). With 70% CDR your archon down time is just under 10 seconds. This gives you time to build flame blade stacks while your hydra wreak havoc. 100 flame blade stacks is easily achievable and in high density you could double that. Swami stack overlap will be 10 seconds as well which coincides with the duration of your flame blade stacks meaning you do the most damage during that period when you have double stacks especially since your hydra will last 15 seconds. If you're lucky (or you plan it right) you'll get a fire COE procc during those ten seconds when you're at your most powerful. Even if you have to move away from your hydra for whatever reason you will still benefit from the flame blade stacks you've accumulated - your Chantodo Wave of Destruction will hit harder (doubled at least) and so will your other archon skills for the duration of the flame blade stacks (half your archon duration).
Another advantage is that you can then use Unity. You thus end up with more damage output AND more toughness.
I have already seen this Flame Blades build and it does have a lot of appeal in large clusters of enemies but like Nightshade mentioned, the stacks aren't renewed. Spending 10 seconds on building Flame Blades stacks, meaning half of your Swami duration would be a huge loss of Archon stacks, and the Archon stacks will also at the very least double the duration of the Flame Blade stacks thanks to Swami.
Achieving 70% CDR is not ideal for Archon since you would skimp out on a lot of essential stats that your Archon would otherwise scale from, in fact most people recommend around 58% CDR and Zodiac should easily shave off the rest of the CD. Flame Blades will not proc Zodiac, your Hydra won't either, this means giving up on one of your buff spells to make room for your resource spending attack. Even if you focus on first getting the Chantodo stacks while procing the Zodiac, and then use FB to AD empower your Hydras, the damage buff from your FB is minuscule compared to let's say... a full time Cannoneer.
Unity isn't an advantage, TR wizards can use it too, they only opt not to do so because F&R is outright broken compared the other rings in the game.
Another build I was thinking of using would be Broken Promise and Shocking Aspect because these item/skills would scale well with the high attack speed and high sheet damage, but it looks like both are affected by an ICD, the ICD of the former being around 1/4 sec. I run fire vyrs. 300+ stacks of flameblades is common in ideal grifts. I got 70.5% CDR, so I got about 10 seconds of overlap with archon. I enjoy this build a lot more than lightning/arcane vyrs.
Thought about this as well. You could basically drop crit for area damage on several slots and get life on hit on bracers and helmet, which frees up the 10% CDR roll on the weapon.
Wouldn't it be better to reroll the AS for 10% damage and get it to 3k dps?
Actually swapped it to LoH, and it seems to be better. You want the AS for your mammoth's though. But I'm going to wait until I find a few more ancient pieces to get my toughness up a bit more.

For DMO, do you only refresh it every 5 stacks, or do you want to spam it including making sure you get it at 5 stacks?

Found that bad boy this morning. I've also swapped to fire vyrs, and it seems to be a lot better.
