    Chapter Six
    Dark Wolves

    Nini listened to Master Yao's instructions, thinking she wouldn't need anymore instructions after that. He is a tall man with white hair always covering his eyes, and he's the only Dark Wolf to not wear the optional uniform, even though it's recommended. He uses a sword and doesn't bother with a wand. He wants to teach her to be a melee sorceress, and she's curious about that. He always chuckles whenever she asks, always saying;

"Don't worry about that. For now, work with your lightning. Soon, you'll have to learn how to make it hit multiple enemies at once."

Nini was under stress, but she fought hard to become a Dark Wolf, and to make her lightning spells become second nature to her. Yao even gave her the option to wear optional clothes, which Nini worshipped him for.

After she was given the option, the next day, instead of what she was told to wear, she wore a grayish robe and sandals with white socks. She wasn't so exposed anymore.

"You look like a different person." Yao laughed, and Nini simply growled.

"Can we move on?" Nini hissed, and so they did. She swapped her wand for a sword. It was called Zenom.

"Take care of that sword. It will be your sword from now on." Yao said, bowing to Nini. Nini bowed as well, to show her respect towards Yao. Yao rose, and so did Nini. "Now, I'll teach you to be a melee sorceress.

    I take it back

The assassins stared at her in shock. Bae began to yell.

“What do you think your doing, denying a task!” Bae shouted, glaring at Akira with his insane looks. Akira simply looked at him. “I'm not going on this task because it's suicide! Think about it! The incorruptable assassins, CORRUPTED! I don't even need to have Tyrael tell me that I will be working alone! I don't want to die for honor you know!” And with that, they watched Akira leave.

When Akira was by Lut Golein, Ebiru was at the gate. She walked by. “Akira I-”

She pushed his words out of her head, and headed straight home. She went to sleep, and it wasn't even noon.

It had been a week. Zuhri and Ebiru hadn't dare ask Akira to go and train with them. Whenever they past each other, no matter what combination, they never awknoweldged each other.
But, one night, Akira was disturbed. She quickly got into her clothes, and ran out into the cold night. And, when she got into the center of town, she saw what was going on. Two people, she couldn't make either of them out, were flying. Both were on birds, on was white, and the other was red. Before she knew it, they were fighting.

Akira barely had time to dodge a fiery phoneix that came after her after it nearly burned her up. She watched as the battle continued, and she was nearly killed several times. She was too tied up in the battle to notice what was happening to the town.

“GO! RUN!” Zuhri shouted, helping Ebiru lead the woman and children out of Lut Golein. Ebiru guided them toward the gate, and helped them get across large crators. Zuhri's summons helped as well.

“Hey, Zuhri, where's Akira?” Ebiru asked, and Zuhri looked at Ebiru.

“Yeah... I didn't see her run out...” They suddenly became fearful, and both started running around, calling. When they met on the same rooftop, they were panting.

    “Did you see her?”

    “No. Did you?”

    “No!”

Ebiru suddenly looked up, seeing Akira on a rooftop. “There!” He said, pointing to her. Zuhri looked, and what they saw made them fear for her life.

Akira decided she had had enough of watching, and decided to get in the fun. She summoned her shadow, unfazed at how easy it was, and the shadow cupped both hands together. The real Akira stepped on them, and her shadow, with some difficulty, threw her into the air. As she got closer, she saw that Eze, the leader of the town, was fighting some unknown figure. She grabbed two of her lightning balls, and threw them on the guys bird. She activated them, and he was electrocuted. She would have shouted in joy, had he not turned to her and send a fiery phoniex after her.

She hit a wall hard, going right through it. She didn't have time to lay there. She got up, and ran. The phoniex slammed in the ground behind her, and had she been any slower, she would have been burned to a krispy chicken. Looking back, she saw what damage had been done to the town. She widened her eyes.

Children lay, burning, mothers laying beside them. Innocents lay dead with the criminal, and she watched as the Varden soffocated in the smoke of the flames. She looked up at the leader, and heard Tyrael's whisper; “He contains Diablo.”

Akira jerked back, seeing Tyraels faint form. “Why are you telling me?! Why don't you help them?!” She yelled, pointing at Lut Golein.

“Because, God has forbidden me. You must stop this group. I'm giving you one last chance.” Tyrael said.

Akira sighed. She didn't want to see this happen again. And however held Mephisto was in a world of hurt. “I accepted.” She said, reluctently. Tyrael nodded.

“Then leave now, and head for Kurast. I shall give you instructions there.” And Tyrael faded.

Akira, after he left, was in tears. She stomped her foot against the sand. She couldn't even say good bye to Ebiru and Zuhri. She couldn't leave with anything but the clothes on her back. And the group has now gotten Diablo. She had to harden her heart and leave. She got on a boat, and sailed away. She did not look back.

I am on the Suicide Run.

    Chapter Four
    Meeting

Akira walked upon the sand. She had feared she would miss the meeting because she needed to stay with her friends. But that, luckily, hadn't happened.

She clapped her hands together, and shouted in her mind; Icabiki.

The ground rumbled slightly. Akira remained calm, drew her hands apart, and took a step back. She watched as doors emerged from the sand. They were polished marble, showing forms of angels and dancing woman with snakes at the sides. Akira heard that they resembled something, but she never figured out what.

As soon as the doors stopped, she clicked open the lock, and opened them. She jumped in, closing the doors behind her. They disappeared within the sand again.

She fell. Ten feet. Twenty feet. Fifty feet. Nindy feet. One hundred feet. She landed perfectly on stone ground, her face glaring at the ground. She lifted herself up, looking forward into the distant halls. There were torches which provided little and horrible light. She wanted to put them out as she walked past, but refrained from doing so.

She reached a corridor, and clapped her hands together, shouting in her mind; Icabiki!

The doors opened, and Akira retreated her arms. She walked forward, and saw all the fimilar faces. Kiume, Mwamba, Bae, Aamu, Anu, and Tyrael...

Akira flinched. Never before had Tyrael, the angel, come to a meeting for assassins.

So far, there were only six assassins left in the world due to what is called; The corrupted Rebellion. Even if it was a rumor that someone was an assassin, corrupted mages killed them. It is a danger even today. Rumor of six assasins left has made them on the run.

Akira took her seat, feeling as if Tyraels eyes were on her. But, she could see no eyes. She may just have the hybe gibes. She almost lost her self control when Tyraels voice came at her from all directions; “Greetings, Akira.” He said. “I'm glad you could show up, even though your almost an hour late.”

She lowered her head. “I'm sorry, sir.” Calling Tyrael 'sir' made her feel awkward, and she did not dare lift her head. She silently listened as they continued.

“Do you really think they're coming back here?” Kiume asked. “I mean, they inspected Lut Golein before! Why should they come back?”

“To see if they missed any of us.” Bae pointed out.

“I believe we need to send Akira-”

Akria jolted her head up, glaring at Mwamba. Her movment silenced everyone. “Send me out to do what?” She asked. When Mwamba didn't answer, she banged her fist on the table. “Well?”

Tyrael answered. “There is a new group.” His words brought attention from everyone. He continued. “They are after, not only assassins, but after the three brothers.”

Akira watched as everyone else started to worry. But she remained calm, and she placed her right leg over her left. “Continue.” She said.

Tyrael nodded. “When they couldn't be sealed in normal seals, we sealed them into humans.” With these words, Akira scowled. But she wiped it away, listening to Tyrael. “And they are after them. They're a group of ten... And one is an assassin.”

Akira was left in shock, and so was the others. How could an incorruptible assassin become corrupted?

“I know you are shocked, and I am too. But the fact they are after the three is very dangerous. They already got their hands on Baal. Next is Diablo.” Akira remained calm, while the others looked worried.

“So, why can't we just go after them? I mean, we are assassins.” She asked, watching as almost no one listened. But what she heard before Tyrael spoke wasn't pleasing.

“We should kill her.” Kiume said.

    “Why? Just because she has-”

Akira couldn't hear the rest of Bae's words, because Tyrael spoke over them. “We are going after them... Only, it will be you, if you accept.” Akira stared at Tyrael, and she began laughing.

“Me, go after ten people, one an assassin? Your joking...”

“I'm serious, Akira!” Tyrael boomed, and Akira flinched. “You can pick, will you accept a task?” Akira thought over his words. If she said no, the group may find all three. But if she said yes, she may be throwing herself into what she considered the suicide run.

Then, after ten minutes, just before Tyrael could speak, Akira slammed her fist on the table, shouting; “No! I will not accept your task!

This made me laugh. IT'S LIKE A PARTY! WHOO! *slapped*

Yes, I do like a lot of the pictures. They seem to big, or as Elfen said, the trees are too small.

Still, I love it. I'd like to see it in color too... Someday.

    Chapter Five
    Akira's dead?

As Akira watched her shadow fight the Lord of Insanity, she ran. She ran as far as she could, until she fell on the ground in exhaustion, unable to move anymore. Now her legs where numb, and her brain throbbed in as much pain as her right arm. Everything was fuzzy. She tried keeping awake, and when she thought she would, everything went black.

The woman dodged the flash of light, screaming in horror as it smashed Autun's corpse, ruining it. She landed in the halls, and she ran for her life. But the thing followed her, laughing. “You cannot escape!” He shouted, and the woman took a turn, making the thing crash into the wall, and turned to her. She turned to face him, and he cried; “Your mine!” And he slashed at her, and he went right through her, making her disappear. He was confused. Then, he screamed in pain as arrows were shot into his back, and he turned to see a amazon readying more arrows. He blasted lightning at her....

There was a loud roar, and Zuhri felt like he was too late. “AKIRA!” He shouted, before a voice answered; “Whom is this Akira you speak of mortals?” This made Ebiru and Zuhri halt, as well as their summonings. Ebiru and Zuhri went back to back, literally. They moved around, wondering where the voice came from, since it came from all directions. They circled, remaining attached to the others backs. Ebiru had his right arm raised directly in front of him, with his left hand holding his elbow. He had a bone spirit charged in his hands. And Zuhri was ready to blow fire.
“WELL?!” The voice demanded once more. Ebiru answered; “She is our friend. What have you done with her?!” He said blandly. The two remained circling, looking in all directions. “If your talking about a red haired girl, she is dead. And your next.”
Both of them froze, and Zuhri fell. “SHE'S DEAD!” He said, his face scrunched up, tears pouring out of his eyes. “AKIRA'S DEAD!” Ebiru fell towards the ground, and toppled over Zuhri, who was crying and bellowing. Ebiru just barely managed not to launch his bone spirit for the fear of letting the Lord of Insanity know where they were. But he got the feeling it didn't matter anyways. He released his bone spirit, and it disappeared. It wasn't launched, just he simply let the energies be recollided and sent back into his body, making it normal again. He picked himself up, and wanted to comfort Zuhri, but he couldn't think of any words. He was sad too. But if they wanted to live, they would have to leave, soon.

And a sorcerer grabbed the lightning, holding it in his hand for a brief moment, and redirected it to the thing. It screamed when hit by lightning. The amazon shouted; “AKIRA! LEAVE! WE'LL HOLD HIM OFF!” The amazon shouted. Akira, the woman who ran to Autun earlier, replied: “I'm not leaving you!” She said, but the sorcerer grabbed her. “We're not giving you the option.” He said, opening the portal and throwing her in, the portal closing after her. The two faced the thing, alone.

Fan Fiction Title: Adflict, Lord of Torment
    Part/Chapter: 1 - 2
    Score: 9/10
Review: For some reason, I was laughing when Tyreal gave some guy a choice of taking the crown (or something) and facing some evil no one wants to face or to decline and let the world suffer. It's how good is. They make someone else do the work. Let's face it. They're lazy angels who speak four thousand languages. HA!

Now to criticize it. That is, if I can find anything....

    AHA!

Now what I don't understand (provided I read correctly) as to why the wife suffered a gory death, while the child just hovered over her father and was somehow killed. Maybe you could be descriptive again with the child's death like you were with the mother's. But apart from that interesting, and worth chewing my nails for the third chapter.

    Chapter Four
The desert belongs to a three hundred foot wolf

Akira hissed, trying once again to balance her energies. But that fluffy white thing returned, and she nearly cracked her skull open again. She hissed. “Why can't I do it right?!” She yelled at the empty desert as it grew hotter as each second passed. It was a minute before noon. Akira had no idea that her life is hanging by a mere thread. Her anger clogged her thinking. She wanted to prove to Ebiru that she could be as good as him. She once again started to balance the energies....
Noon struck. The skies turned red, and Akira stopped, her energies going back to where they were originally. She had forgotten what red skies meant. “Red skies... Um...” She whispered, placing her fingers on her chin. Then she remembered, and smiled happily, pointing her index finger towards the sky and let her arm forward slightly. She said proudly; “That's right! It's when Madonesu, Lord of Insanity comes to regin in the desert for an hour!” She declared, then her pride faded, and was replaced with sheer horror. She started to run, hoping to find Lut Golein again, but a sudden flash of lightning blasted her arm, and she screamed, falling to the ground. Her arm bleed, and she screamed in her mind as the pain ran through her body, making her hold back her tears. She staggered to pull herself up, and when she did, she saw the exact thing she never wanted to face.
Many told rumors of him being a twenty foot tall being that almost looked like Baal. But he was nothing of that. He was a three hundred tall black wolf with red eyes that burned with the fire that could drive anyone insane. He looked down at her, quickly nearing it's face at her, and it looked like it was trying to drive her insane. It sniffed her. A voice bellowed from all directions, instead of one.
What are you doing here in my desert, mortal?” It asked, growling as it continued to stare at her. A lump formed in her throat as she searched for answer. When a minute passed, he boomed, only louder; “WELL?!
    “I-I... I was training...”
And do you not know that this is my desert you are standing on?
    “I k-know it's y-yours b-but-”
    BUT WHAT?!
“But I didn't know it was noon!” Akira cried. She watched as Madonesu lifted his head to think. Then he said; “It does not matter mortal! You are on my land and will suffer the punishment! Prepare to die!” It shouted. Akira raised her arms, only to discover her right one is broken. She had to cause a distraction!
She thought again on the energies. She did not take her time. She sorted them out randomly and unleashed it, getting it right. An exact clone, without a broken left arm, sprung from nowhere. Madonesu looked confused. “ACCEPT YOUR FATE, MORTAL!” He howled in annoyance, snapping at Akira's clone, who dodged. The real Akira, trying not to be discovered, tried running off, only to be blown forward. She screamed, and did what she was told not to do; She used her mind powers of the assassin to blow her back. Her mind hurt as she landed on her feet. She looked at the Lord of Insanity. How could she fight him off for an hour with a broken right arm? The arm she uses for almost everything.

The skies turned red, and Ebiru swore; “SHIT! IT'S NOON!”
“AKIRA! AKIRA!” Zuhri shouted, even louder this time. His dire wolf howled, as if it hoped to find this Akira his master was talking about. Ebiru heard rumors that the Lord of Insanity almost like a Baal, only twenty feet tall. Nothing was said of his abilities. However, those were just rumors. Whether they were true or not... Well, he did not want to find out. But the back of his mind told him that he was, and he tried to ignore it.
And, although he tried not to admit to anyone, not even himself, Zuhri hopes of finding Akira safe was dying, and he kept on picturing her dead with the Lord of Insanity hovering over her, laughing.

    Chapter Three
    Nini

The sound of a river echoed around as it repeated it's song, elegantly leaping from one pebble to another. There stood a young teenaged girl, with brown skin, brown eyes, and black hair. She smiled as she memorized the sound of the river, enjoying it.

She sat in a sorceress's shirt and skirt, her shirt being velvet and her skirt a dark green. Neither matched the other. Her shirt was revealing, and she felt uncomfortable wearing it. But the people who run the Dark Wolves made sorceress's wear them. She often saw men staring, and she had the feeling it was because she was so revealing.

But she forgot it as a smile creped up her face. She silently listened to the river flow, and time moved slower and slower until it seemed like time had stopped.

Time suddenly moved again when she felt a presence behind her. The chorus of the river shattered, and she had trouble hearing it.

“What?” She asked, only to hear the voice of her mentor.

“You wanted to work on your lightning?” He asked, and watched as the girl jumped up and nodded eagerly.

“Alright Nini. Follow me.” He said, while at the same time gesturing her to follow. Nini followed, and she never fell behind or asked where they were going.

Nini's mentor led her to an open space, and Nini's mentor turned to her.

“When generating lightning, you must remember to be free of emotion, and have a peace of the mind. Remember to separate your energies, instead of balancing them. They cannot be together. That's why we practiced. Do not forget.” He said, and he placed himself on the ground at the edge of the space to watch Nini progress.

For the first few times, Nini nearly blew herself up. She nearly got it the fifth time, then it blew up. She seethed in anger, then remembered to be absent of emotion and have a peace of mind. Anger was the hardest to chew down. She sighed, keeping herself silent, focusing....

    BAM!

Lightning crashed out of her hands, and it flew at a tree, causing it to snap from it's stump and iy fell into the river. Nini cheered happily. “I did it!” She cried, but she stopped, staring at the tree sadly. “Too bad about the tree though.” She felt a hand come on her shoulder to the left of her. She looked, and saw her mentor.

“Don't worry,” He said. “It will regrow. Now, we will need to show you more with lightning. Hopefully, you will get better at controlling it and be able to hold it in longer than you did to target things.” Nini nodded.

“Thanks, Master Yao.” Nini said, bowing in respect to her mentor. She watched as Yao walked away. Nini then turned to the river, and she sat down. She listened to the river's chorus again.

    Chapter Two
    Training Accident

Akira and Ebiru finally found Zuhri, who was tapping his foot impatiently. “You guys are slowpokes!” He yelled. Ebiru sighed.

“Just lets get to training.” Ebiru said in a calm voice.

“A-Alright!” Zuhri said. He tried summoning a dire wolf, but it backfired on him, literally. He was thrown back, and he fell on his face. Ebiru sighed.

“Your seriously going to think that not balancing your energies by a small amount without any different effect?” He asked. Zuhri lifted his face and spat out the sand, lifting his hand to clear his face of it. He got up.

“Well how was I suppose to know?!” He cried, to which Ebiru was annoyed at.

“I explained it to you at least twenty thousand times.”

“But what's wrong with one being slightly imbalanced?” He asked.

“Because,” Ebiru said. “It isn't balanced then. And slightly imbalanced is different from balanced. Do it again, with both energies balanced.” Zuhri nodded, and he tried again. This time, he successfully summoned a dire wolf. It stared at Zuhri, wondering what to do.

“Congratulations. First one. My turn.” Ebiru said, as he closed his eyes. Ebiru was the fastest of the group, even though it always seemed like Zuhri was. In an instant, a scorpion lay dead, and he summoned it's skeleton to fight for him. It was a success. The skeleton started wondering around mindlessly, waiting to kill something. Both Zuhri and Ebiru looked at Akira.

“Your turn.” They said at the same time, unfazed about it.

Akira nodded, and shut her eyes. She pictured a shadow of herself, an exact copy, and merged her energies. She opened her eyes, and she was about to unleash the energies, about to summon a shadow master, when she saw a white, fluffy thing bound by. She lost focus. Her energy bounced around, and threw her back further than Zuhri had.

Unlike Zuhri, Akira's energies weren't slightly unbalanced. They were out of control. She was thrown back yards, hitting a cliff, she became dazed. She forgotten up or down, left and right. She heard Ebiru and Zuhri running towards her.

“Akira, you okay?” Zuhri asked, and he offered his hand.

“Yeah...” She mumbled as she took his hand. Ebiru was annoyed.

“Akira, you should stop letting everything distract you all the time.” He snarled. Akira snapped, putting her face directly in front of his, inches apart.

Well, no one's perfect like you Ebiru! No one always get's it right and is the perfect necromancer in all history!” She snapped in his face, and she ran off, and she was gone from sight. The wind blew away her foot prints.

“I'm sorry...” Ebiru said, and a hint of sadness was in his voice. But then Zuhri walked away, and Ebiru said louder and even sadder; “I'm sorry!” He was left unanswered. Ebiru unsummoned his skeleton and walked home alone.

(Expect some added abilities. Apart from that the other skills should remain untouched)

    Chapter One
    Let's begin...

There was the sound of running across the walls. There, running between two rows of pillars, was a young woman, running. There was a loud scream. A man's scream. The woman opened her mouth, but she clamped it shut. She ran for what seemed to be ages, until she ran up to what was a thirty year old man.

His skin was so white he looked like a corpse, his hair white as if they lost all its color. He was wearing shredded armor. He was bleeding heavily. There was a wand, and a jar on the ground by both his hands. The jar was smashed into many pieces, and the wand was broken in half. He was motionless.

The woman knelled down to him, shaking him gently. "Autun? Autun!" The woman asked. Panic rose in her eyes.

All around them, there were skeleton bones on the ground, and weapons that belonged to the skeleton bones.
The dead looking man moved, but barely. He opened his mouth.

    "Autun?" The woman asked again.

    The man was pained to move his lips, and he knew he was on the verge of death. With the last of his strength, he said his last word;

    "Run!"

There was a flicker of light....

Akira woke in a cold sweet, and she leapt up from her bed. She took a moment to realize she was awake, and that dream was only a dream. A nightmare. Something that occurred in the past. She rested her head in her palm, catching her breath. She felt as if she were experiencing that same pain again with Autun died... She didn't make it to him in time... She let her friend down...

It was approaching dawn. Akira decided to get ready, since she was afraid the nightmare would continue, dare she close her eyes again. But the images were still fresh in her mind. Autun laying near dead, his destroyed minions, and the pain in his eyes. She hissed to herself as she felt her mind rip apart again, ripping through places she thought she healed. It was like a scar reopening.

She stopped hissing when the pain in her mind ceased, and she sighed in temporary relief. Akira trotted off, placing her clothes on. She put on a one pieced yet revealing black dress that barely covered her lower body. She placed on matching black socks and boots, and a silver belt. She looked for her shoulder armor, wondering where she last left it. “Now where did I put that damn thing?” She wondered out loud, trying to recall where she last put them. Her mind always came up blank.

She walked down the hall, only to trip. “AH! What could have....?” She looked, only to see her shoulder armor on the floor, and it was quickly blocked by her pink hair that came in her face. She blew at it, only for it to return, mocking her. “I leave my armor on the floor, I really have sunk to an all time low.” She murmured, picking herself up as well as the shoulder armor, and strapped it on. The sun was up, and she watched it, until she was bored.

There was a kncok, and she ran to the door, and it wasn't a surprise who was there. Zuhri, the druid, and Ebiru, a necromancer. Zuhri was in front, smiling like a dofus as usual. Ebiru was standing behind him, and he had his arms crossed. He looked bland and disinterested as usual, with Zuhri being the all cheerful... Zuhri.

“Hey Akira!” Zuhri said proudly. “Want to train with us again?” At this, Ebiru sighed.

“Seriously Zuhri, do you ever get bored of this?” He said blandly, looking at him. There were bags under his eyes, which stood out on his white skin. Zuhri turned to him, smiling.

“Nope! I'm going to get strong enough to protect you guys, then the rest of the world too!” He declared. Akira laughed.

“That's easier said than done, Zuhri. How many times have I said that?” Akira asked, maintaining her smile. Zuhri turned to her, then laughed.

“Not for me! This'll be no sweat!” He shouted.

    “That is until you come home with stinky armpits.” Ebiru said, which made Akira laugh, and Zuhri shouted;

“Hey!” He looked about ready to punch him, but she stopped that from happening.

    “Com'on, we seriously need to train. I can't remember last time we did.” She said. Zuhri ran at full speed toward the desert screaming;

    “Follow me! Follow me!”

Ebiru whispered to Akira; “Do you ever wonder if he'll ever get lost?” He asked, to which Akira shrugged. Akira and Ebiru followed. It wasn't hard to follow. His foot prints were six inches deep.

I would, but I think it should be a subforum of the current writing/books/etc, and only if it sees good usage after its creation and for a good amount of time, afterwards (otherwise, I'd just stick with the current writing/books forum, since it could fit in there, anyway). forum. Furthermore, I don't think it should be limited to only Diablo-specific fanfiction, but incorporate all Blizzard games, as well.

    I agree.
