    Yes, in non season.

But Seasons have been largely exploit free...but there are now two fairly big ones that offer a huge advantage.

New exploit shows it is easy to duplicate in Season 10 on PS4/X1.

    Season 10 is a joke.

Yeah...when your game loads it saves it right away...I gues they plant a seed number that is then used by a Random Number Generator for your items...same seed = same gear.

But there must be something that changes the seed...who knows what that is...

If it's not online only, there will be hacked items and it will be a clown fiesta.

There will not be hacks or modded gear because there will be no way to get that into a seasonal character since it is separate from non-season but duping will be a massive issue if it is not online only.

Saves for seasons might not be always online by the looks of it.

You need to be online to create a seasonal character but Blizzard have not said you need to be "always online".

Several of us have identified a new anti-cheat mechanism on the console version of D3.

Prior to patch 2.5 you could gamble your shards at Kadala or upgrade rares or reforge and if you never liked the results simply quit the game and load again and you get your shards back to respend until you get what you want.

Blizzard somehow have changed this so that if you quit after spending shards and reload the results will be the same next time you load.

For example, get 5 belts from kadala, quit the game abruptly and reload and the 5 belts from kadala will be the same ones as before.

Same for reforging and upgrading rares.

Great anti-cheat mechanism but I question why they have implemented this?

Blizzard could not care about non season on console so this is not for non season, this must be for seasons to stop cheating on there. This means saves will not be online because if you do the above whilst disconnected from the internet you get the same results.

So perhaps when you exit the game on consoles in seasons at that point it will save to the servers in Blizzard so this mechanism will prevent users from exiting and retrying kadala until they get what they want.

I assume they may be saving some sort of random seed in the save files of the console D3 savefile that is used to determine the results of random stuff.

The huge worry here is though whilst it eliminates the load and retry method it does not address duping which will kill seasons on console if allowed.

What is also interesting is old Community Manager Grimiku popped into the console forums and said Blizzard might have to think along the lines of a person creating a seasonal character then taking their PS4 away on holiday with them with no internet and carry on their seasonal journey...that would require not always online...

March 31st will be interesting to see how it works.

There is a complete blanket silence from Blizzard on any of the mechanics of seasons on consoles at present,

No...the answer will be to play seasons on console as this type of gear cannot be in a season.

The gear doesn't affect your character if you meet another player who is using it. Unless they open a GR150 and you go in with them then you will gain massive amounts of exp.

How do people still consider GR70 as a wall? It takes like maybe 10 hours at lv 70 to pick up the gear needed to do a GR70.

A GR70 while wearing a set is probably even easier than doing the GR45 no-set conquest.

Not everybody plays the meta builds. Not everybody knows how to play. A friend of mine would never reach GR70 solo. She's not a gamer per se. She likes D3 and plays it every now and then, which leads to her losing track of what's happening and her dying a lot.
Why is she not allowed lucky drops in form of primals?

Because Primal's are for end game play and it seems your friends does not do that...she would be happy with Ancients.

This is here a lot of talk about console seasons without any OFFICIAL information how console seasons will eventually look like.

True...best we wait and see how it will all work. Although, several Reddit users who went to Blizzcon have posted that when they chatted to the devs they were told it would use online saves like PC, however they actually do it the thing is it should be easier to stop cheating on console compared to PC given the closed OS of the consoles.

    @hoerjnick: Never say never.

Even if hacker's can't install stuff on console, they still can proxy network traffic through their proxy servers. That means they can read and modify network data that is transfered from and to console. This is just a theoretical option, but it exists.

The network traffic will be encrypted, you are grasping at straws there. They could do that with PC traffic but then what?

Until the encryption keys for both X1 and PS4 are found there is nothing you can do to the PS4\X1...the only way is if they then hack Blizzards servers to modify the saves there but then if that were possible then PC saves would have been done by now...

Never say never for sure but given both currentgen are years old and it has not been hacked yet seems to suggest its hard.

But given that you then have D3 running on them with online saves on Blizzard servers and the PS4/X1 operating system completely closed off to everyone (unlike PC) then Seasons on Console should be the purest form of D3,.

you are discussing d3 on consoles, like seriously?)

Yes...if you read the actual posts you may realize that when Season 10 lands on console with online saves like PC it will eradicate modded gear, and then add the fact that you cannot bot on console then D3 - Season 10 - Console version will be the purest form of D3 untainted by any cheating.

Unlike the PC leaderboards that are awash with botters.

    @magiuks @Romano2739

PS4 and X1, which are getting seasons, are not "jailbroken"...only PS3 and XB360 were and they are stuck on patch 2.06a and ain't getting seasons

There can be no software that is third party that will run on these currentgen systems...ever...unless the encryption keys are discovered/reverse engineered/hacked etc and they haven't been so far as yet.

The lack of third party hacks is NOT due to lack of competition, its down to the fact you CANNOT install any...period. The operating system of both PS4 and X1 are completely closed to any developer barring those that actually make games for them.

There will be no third party hacks on console for D3.

There are loads for PC, this is why seasons on console will not have the issue of botters...nor will it have the issue that non season has on D3 on consoles with modded gear and duping...

There is no TurboHUD, no botting program for consoles because you cannot alter the installation of a game or install anything else, you cant install any utility program at all.

Everything you install on a X1 or PS4 comes from a disc produced by Sony/MS or from their online stores.

TurboHUD, botting programs are third party programs, developed by others and installed on PC to manipulate D3.

You simply cannot do that 100% for any game on currentgen let alone D3.

Because the encryption keys for PS4/X1 are unknown hackers can not do anything to the OS of the consoles.

The only reason why modded gear exists at present in D3 is because Blizzard allowed us to export from PS3/X360 saves and import them into PS4/X1 saves...and PS3/XB360 encryption keys are known and therefore the saves on them can be decrypted, altered and reuploaded.

If it wasn't for Blizzard allowing the oldgen version of the game to export their saves into currentgen then currentgen would be mod free...because currentgen has not be hacked yet.

Hence why Season 10 on console will be great, no modded gear, no duping and no botting.
