Not much. School's trucking on at a somewhat reasonable pace, and other than that there's nothing else really going on at the moment.
But, what's up with you?

I've currently been playing a lot of grand strategy games these past months. They're unique in the regard that you control a nation and lead it through a set period of time rather than leading individual troops on a battlefield.Posted in: Off-Topic
Picture in the link is from Victoria 2, a grand strategy game set during the industrial revolution. I started playing as Prussia, then formed the North German Federation and finally the German Empire, which after a few political reforms turned into Germany.
The games themselves can be a bit tough to get into as there's a lot to learn at once, but once you get past all that they're great fun.

Anyone heard of that supposedly new console Ouya on Kickstarter? Well, it was finally revealed to be a scam.Posted in: Off-Topic

From my experience being in a group resulted in better loot dropping more often. I had an average of 1400 DPS at level 45, after but an hour with two of my friends I had gotten better drops than ever before, resulting in my DPS rising to about 2000.Posted in: Off-Topic
Could be a coincidence, of course.

Decided to dig my teeth into Europa Universalis 3 a week ago or so, it's eerily addicting. Playing as a European country and attempting a military expansion can be extremely difficult though if you got one of the more powerful countries breathing down your neck, so after a few attempts I came to the conclusion that the Ottoman Empire was a nice fit, it had a good starting position as well as good expansion possibilities. Now the annoying thing is that in EU3 there's a system called Infamy which is there to prevent you from becoming a warlord and taking over the world in the blink of an eye, basically what it does is if you go to war and you're winning you will gain Infamy if you decide to do anything other than declare a white peace or force your enemies to concede defeat, and if you're Infamy is too high every single country in the world will gain a Casus Belli on you, which is a reason to go to war. This is really, really bad especially if you got the entirety of Europa clawing at you in the east as Ottoman.Posted in: Off-Topic
So basically what ended up happening is that I had Hungary, Poland, Austria and Bohemia alongside several smaller countries all declaring war on me at the same time, not surprisingly I ended up losing hard.
It's a fun game, even though some countries seem to exist especially to make your life as miserable as possible.
This was my empire before I decided to create a new game, it was pretty fun. The only real problem I have with the Ottomans are that you can't really do any important National Decisions. National Decisions are essentially goals that have certain requirements to do, for example you can form Germany or Russia but you need the proper provinces and some other good stuff in order to accomplish it.
There are a few interesting things you can do with Europe, however. And that is as I mentioned before, forming Germany or uniting the Holy Roman Empire. Essentially the entirety of Europe except France, England, Poland-Lithuania are a part of the HRE, and forming it is the ultimate goal you can reach as a European country that's a part of the HRE. If you form the HRE, and it succeeds, you will gain control of all the countries that decide to join you, and a lot of them will. The interesting thing is that all those countries in Europe are self sufficient, it might not sound impressive to you, but if you gain control of ~30 nations that are all self sufficient your economy will boom something ferociously and will most likely make you the big superpower in the west, and when that happens you can more or less force smaller countries into becoming your vassals.

Heh, thanks. I got the glasses as a birthday present, but I never really got a chance to use them since the weather turned gray right afterwards. Another friend described me as John Lennon with a neckbeard, even though it's not quite as visible due to the poor camera quality.Posted in: Off-Topic

I've had a disease with a very long name for the past week, and so I finally got some penicillin. Now the good news is that I got an excuse to not take a step outside of my room since it's so damn sunny outside all the time.Posted in: Off-Topic
