This game is competitive? LOL that's a good one.
Anyone who believes that is living in a bubble for the past what? a year now?
Enjoy spamming GRs 3 months 24/7. This is not an end-game, this is a complete spit in the face.
As for the 2k cap, i agree with the first reply - if you can't reach 2k, don't put cap on other players.

Some of these wings just don't fit to the game. Quite simple as that.
Falcon wings? What am i? A turkey or a Nephalem?
3 types of butterfly wings? 3? Really? THREE?
The bat wings somehow do seem to fit, but even then - they eventually removed them. So really, just lol at that.

What long term goal are you referring to? D2 never had one, it never needed one.

I agree that it didn't need one, because farming the gear was already THE one. Being the min/maxing so hard to achieve and so slow to progress (without trading) it gave by itself a long term goal to everyone. D2 was the epitome of farming as you well said in your post.
I also agree that D3 is receiving a lot of improvements via patches and nice features/new meta games.
The point is that while you could play D2 for a long time continuosly without anything of this sort you cannot do so in D3. Item hunt is basically non existant, as build are redefined by item sets, and you can tailor your drops in multiple ways (cube/blood shards). Getting fully geared is really easy and it's a matter of hours.
Yes, the long term goal is pushing high GR atm. But a) it works only for a handful of builds and people tend to pidgeonhole into the "best ones" and B) after a certain short threshold it becomes more paragon related than gear related.
The problem currently with D3 is that we're not farming for for items, but farming for levels. Farming will be always famring and there will be always the beast way to do so, but the goal should be related to how we want to play and not how much powerful we are.
LoN set is actually the potentially best thing of 2.4. Cannot wait for them to hit live.

People will always be unsatisfied, and you are the perfect example.
No matter how many updates and upgrades Diablo 3 will go through, there will always be someone like you who will be crying for more of this and more of that.
Do you even remember what Diablo 3 vanila was looked like?
Think about how much the game shifted and changed since then. It's pretty amazing.
Diablo 2 never went through such work, it pretty much stayed as it lunched, content wise.
So stop being so spoiled, and let the updates keep coming and enjoy every moment, and if you happen to be discontent, go play PoE.

Now that they nerfed the dog from trippled to doubled dmg, im not even sure this build can pull 70 with good gear.

LoN pure (combined with some free mana spenders, of course) pet build with my below P1000 is viable for sure. Especially with augmented gear. And, one dog does almost the same damage like the 3 gargs combined, so that is more or less the same. I even think the dog has a bit the upper hand in that regard as he has 3 passives that boost his damage, garg actually only one.

I did multiple 65 runs in 7-8 minutes, problem is to get the build I was trying out to full potential is that I didn't have ancient MoJ and/or ancient Aquilla Cuirass, so my survivability was just to low on my 70 test runs on PTR.

Isn't even 70 kinda low compare to what people doing these days? What's the highest solo record on GRs at the moment (Highest among all classes that is)

You have a problem with the game? Don't play it!
You want the game to be anything else, learn programming & Art Design and make a game of your own.
Untill then, stfu and be happy with what Blizzard is giving you.
As if Blizzard giving a flying f*** about your displeasure...

If you want to get the wings, do you need to make every single class in game next season ?

There are two wings, one etherial which only needs the main objectives completed and another fuller wing which will require the mastery objective.
Thank you everyone for replying and kind words =)

The ethereal version of the wings sounds new to me. Can you upload a screenshot of those?

Or even a showcase of the rewards ^_^

From what i know, 2.4 update will present 4 wings in the data base that will be available IF you have the following checked:
Big Golden/Green Wings - These wings are related to the set dungeons reward.
Purple Wings - Pre-Purchase WoW Legion Expansion Collector's Edition
Andariel's Wings - Unknown on how to get them just yet
Robotic Sun Wings - Pre-Purchase Overwatch Collector's Edition

    Hi,

I'm still trying to put my hands on the physicak collector's edition, i was trying to search youtube for a video to see how the transmogs look on an actual character and not on a picture, but no one seem to uploaded it.
Also, i didn't see any players in-game with it.
Is there any explanation to this ?

P.S - The transmog seem to be only half of the outfit of Artanis, how come ?

posted a message on Quin's Itemization Rant
    Quote from Stuckinwell»

    Quote from Ryushinx»

There is 0 item diversity in this game. And the new change, doesn't change a squat.
Every single one of you who played over paragon 1 knows, that for end-game builds, you have spesific items you must own (obviously with good rolls) to successfuly run high GRs.
Take a good look on the builds page, do you see alot of items diversity? No, you don't!
You can't run with w/e weapons you like on WW Barb. No, you have Bul Kathos for the best WW performance. Sure you can use IK weapon. but it won't be nearly as good.
Same goes for DH current weapon of choice for MS build.
You are in denial, if you think you can choose w/e the fuck you want to wear and get away with the same/better performance on current builds in-game.
    itemization only works on Torments.
You cant do much tweaking once we talk GR60+.
This entire thread, along with Quin's, is a waste of time. Unless you're a casual who don't run high GRs and care about minimal gear swapping for gameplay diversity.

This is a horrifically fatalistic perspective on Diablo 3. Yes we're all aware that the cutting edge of play involves using one of a several builds that is proven to be the most effective at GR above 70. However, there is no consensus that the cutting edge is what's losing out here. The people who are losing are the casual and pseudo-casual players who do think about builds and really try to pull something unique together that might work as high as GR50-60, but will never be god-tier. In short, these changes clearly threaten the "illusion of choice" in high-tier play, but they also threaten meaningful choices for lower levels of play.

In contrast, I find the best way to approach these changes is one Quin mentions briefly: why are they adding these buffs? What is the point of making one item outright better than any other item in that slot for a particular build? In the past, it has been because the buff had a tradeoff that changed the the available sets/items that could be equipped with the buff item. Best example is the Fist of Az'Turrasq. This is a one-handed weapon that doubled Exploding Palm damage. That sounds just as broken as the new Tzo Krin's Gaze except that because Fist was ONE-HANDED, the damage calculated by EP would have been LOWER without the buff. So Fist's EP buff was a direct consequence of it's otherwise lower damage, thus the compensatory buff allowed build freedom by giving the player choice over their other one-handed weapon. Really nifty and not broken.

In comparison, items like the new Tzo Krin's Gaze and Kyoshiro's Soul provide their huge damage buffs while taking up a set item slot, which inhibits set completion (that's the tradeoff). However, just as Quin mentioned, the Ring of Royal Grandeur can take care of this issue in case it's a problem. But in the case of Kyoshiro's Soul, that isn't even necessary. It's a belt, which realistically only interferes with two sets that monks might be using and neither is very common (Inna's Raiment or Blackthorn's). So Kyoshiro's Soul may be the most egregious abuse of an item that is outright better in nearly ALL cases if the player is using Sweeping Wind.

So why is blizzard issuing these necessary skill buffs? Like Quin stated, it makes more sense to outright buff the skill, or perhaps add in a leveled-stat scaling (more stat scaling as levels increase) to buff underperforming skills while not making the leveling process unreasonably cookie-cutter.
Gaining gear in this game is a major part of Diablo. Always has been, since Diablo 1.
When a player finds an upgrade, it makes him feel like the world is whole again! And he's happy. Also, it resumes the motivation to keep playing for better and better upgrades.
When you buff a skill, you simply make the character stronger, and the items you find are less and less meaningful because the raw weapon % damage is high to begin with.
The game is not balanced, and will never be with so many classes/items in game. And the items only keep coming as the patches/seasons go on.
So stop whining about items being overpowerd, i dont recall Quin QQing about how ridiculously OP Static Charge was up untill the point they nerfed it.
The guy only wants skill buffs. And SC was a good example why they should buff any of them, and focus on items instead.

If you haven't yet, watch Quin's video (it's also on the frontpage, so you've probably seen it):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Xvyw4YsABY

What do you think? I found myself nodding through the entire video. As someone who really likes playing around with new builds, who liked to do testing and finding out new stuff, this change is such a turn-off. It aligns with Blizzard's previous design decisions though, and I can see how this appeals to some players (that care less about the endgame than I do - or well, than I did). Still, I think it's something that needs to be discussed. Thoughts?

I found myself thinking "wow, Quin is either A - dumb or B - a major hypocrite"

Diminishing returns are real, they truly affect the gains you obtain from items at certain points. All these items do is add some efficiency to an item which in return can help you farm other items faster.

Done by simple testing on his first WoL theory, if you equip Convention, hellfire, and 6 piece sunwuko instead of the healm, RoRg, etc... I did around 18% more damage per hit. Thus instantly proving his meaningless rant false, in that they are MANDATORY!

Use damage calculators and in game testing, it proves this theory to be absolutely 100% false.

People made this argument with Barbs saying they would require the use of Gavel if using HoTa. Then people testing the damage returns from using an Ancient Gavel compared to an Ancient IK 2H, and the damage was actually higher if cubing the gavel and equipping the IK due to the stat slots, increase to your ancients damage, and diminishing returns of the initial HoTa increase.

Bottom line, when it comes to additive, you are still far better off sprinkling your damage into many avenues as opposed to one avenue. This is from several factor such as diminishing returns, skill downtime, etc... (skill down time is key for the HoTa comp, because your ancients attack at range, HoTa is melee, thus impacting the model of damage returns.)
I didnt even know that -.-
