Hmmm ... Strange, my links started to appear round 5 lol :P
But WOW, 240 already?? And it's been only a week since ya joined lol. You da man Evu ^_^
EDIT: Btw, I support the need for that extension :P As well as Dynamic Page Lists :D

EDIT2: Anyone seem to notice that the compiler doesn't seem to recognise new lines created by the "enter" key. That's why all text appears in one paragraph, even if they're written separately :) Best example - check the last line of Archbishop Lazarus :o

Yeah, use that :D *psst, it has a daaaark secret*

Ok, we'll do the pages one by one, but first, try getting some volunteers to copy in the stats from the Arreat Summit for the items and monsters. Yeah, each page can and should follow a definite format, so we'll have to review each edit made. I'll be importing the templates one by one as the pages that carry them are made ;)

And should I say that an organized effort can surely make a difference :)

Ok, here's what I suggest. Take a group of pages, either items, monsters, or areas, let's take monsters for an example. Then, create a single page in the group, with everything it should have (sorta like a boilerplate ;)). We can do Fallen quite nicely, or any of the super uniques. Then, put up all the pages to be created (red links) in a separate page called Wanted Monster Pages or sommin and link it to the main page.

Next, create a small guide in the Wanted Monster Pages page about what a page should look like, the syntax etc. Then, enlist some willing volunteers from the forums. I'm sure atleast 2 members can help :P Then, give them jobs, organized stuff. First copy the stats, then a short intro (I can do that ;)), then the pics, then when all the basics are up, we can concentrate on the more advanced stuff, like lore, tactics, name origins, trivia etc (not that we can't do that before though ;))

We really need to prep up the wiki into a HUGE compendium before D3's released. Cause the focus is gonna be on D3 info, not many are gonna do the dirty work until they're asked to I'm afraid :( But that's why this is a better place to start than wikia, cause we know that we have some sorta community who can help :D

posted a message on A question about articles
Hey there people, just wondering how we should go about creating the monster/item/area pages. There are two methods I've seen:

    1. We create ALL the pages as stubs and wait for them to be filled eventually. This has the advantage of massively increasing the article count, creating a sorta latent interest in exploring the wiki. On the other hand, it can also act as a deterrent to new members, being in awe of the amount of incomplete work in here :D

    OR

    2. We create each page, one at a time. A slow but steady process that will take a LOTTA time to complete. But it gives a sense of completion and that li'l touch of perfectness that we want in the wiki. Every edit gets reviewed and improved by the other members. And it usually creates a complete page a day. But it will be tedious and can take a helluva lotta time :( (considering we have potentially 3000 articles to make, 3000 days lol???)

Ok, now some things to be done. Can someone give any suggestions on bringing some variety into the stubs? Back at wikia, we had a few different choices when it came to stubs. A different notice for the items/monsters/locations ... and more, that (if I'm not mistaken) EVula himself had made. It kinda looked cool :P

And finally, can someone make an infobox for the monsters, runewords and items???

AND WE NEED PICS PEOPLE!!! And i'm not talking about the ones in the content pages, http://wiki.diablofans.com/index.php/Template:Gems. We need ALL the templates to look somewhat like that :D

PS - I'm with marking the stubs and improving a bunch rather than waiting for individual pages to be created ^_^

Ok ... Sorry bout being brash :P (should put up a note in my sig about me temper eh??? :D) Sometimes it just makes me sad :(

But I agree with HnK on this, if ya want to advise him, please show him how it's done. Nobody's perfect. Don't tell him to do it, I'm sure he'll be a good boi and listen to y'all that way. Why ... anyone would. And this goes for all of ya, not just Kefka ;)

And HnK. please understand that n00bs have NO idea what a fcr or a fhr is ... Makes them regret their n00biness and they leave the place :D

Come on, give the guy a break people, atleast he's tried to set something up. Agreed, the english isn't anything to talk home about and the format was, to put it lightly, hilarious but he's already said that it's just a rough setup. And he's also asked for help on the page.

It's not like the page was made by him so he should be the only one to make any edit on it. A normal wiki always has more than one person working on a single page simultaneously. Share your wisdom, it's a huge free-for-all ... That's what a wiki is.

    THIS GUY SHOULDN'T BE ALONE!!!

So HnK, you made that page eh? Kinda kewl ;) I've tried to fix up the formattin but still need some help on two words I've marked with a (??) in the article.

Otherwise, HnK's given us a good format for future build pages. Equipment, skills, stats and the merc :D Now if only someone could come up with an intro or sommin :) Maybe some opinions on the items and skills, why they're chosen and not others. Stupid stuff but will help set an example :P And don't forget that hearing about d3, many n00bs have sprung up (including me lol :D) who don't know shit about a pally bo. Hey, does BotD stand for the Breath of the Dying runeword?? Or is it some unique or magic item?? :P

Oh, and DGK, that Bone Necro guide would be dandy my friend. Whenever I play a necro, always end up with a zookeeper lol :P Or maybe it's just me :D

Ashkeal, It couldn't be named Diablopedia due to copyright issues of the pedia or something
At present its just the "Diablofans Wiki"

Ah ... yes, I understand, it's cause of http://www.baronsbazaar.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=13644 (still can't seem to use urls lol ^_^) huh??? Or maybe something else?? But we weren't told that the name would change ... Especially with the huge banner made for it.

Anyway, what's in a name :D As long as this one pwns every other one on the net, nothing matters *maniacal laughter*

Hey there guys and gals, I'm one the (former :P) admins from WikiaDiablo, and I wanna get this cleared out ...

The Diablopedia isn't supposed to be a Dfans-only site, that's why anonymous edits are allowed in the first place lol ... And AFAIK they will be allowed until there's some serious trouble from some wannabe moron.

    Quote from name="Pablo Riser" »
What about site like this diablowiki and others. He have many interest information about game..
I dont undestend.. Why this project need us?

And about why we have the Dpedia when we already have WikiaDiablo, ya see (and this is solely my reason for the shift to this place, the other admins may have their own ;)) When I used to edit in wikia, it seemed like I was always alone, if it weren't for the other admins who spent their time there. There was a major lack of a proper editing community there (being that close to WoWWiki, one of the biggest wikis in the net, gives you a complex lol :D)

New members just seemed to join, make one or two edits and *poof* they're gone!!! Some have stayed true to the wiki but the majority were like that ... Inspite of the efforts we took (signs, private messages, header directives) no one seemed to care as much as the admins themselves. And here, we see guys just clamouring to get an edit done, even before the wiki was launched, I've seen guys talk about how great it'd be if there was a wiki right here.

Yes, the wiki IS in its initial stage so there's bound to be the novelty factor, but this place has a community that's far superior to any other I've seen. Especially about lore, and to tell ya the truth, I thought I was the only guy interested in Diablo lore before I met Atrumentis, and then this community. So far I've not been disappointed.

So, to put it simply, the Diablopedia has a bigger community than WikiaDiablo, so that's why "I" have joined.

    Quote from "LinkX" »
Not trying to be mean, I really think that we'd save time copying the Diablo Wiki's info into our wiki. Is that possible?

And about copying from the WikiaDiablo, lemme say I'm not against it (it IS the internet lol :D) but to give credit to the original authors, we're trying as best to import them and not copy them outright. That way, the page history is maintained and the original author has his name on the page :D But smaller (but useful) pages can be copied without importin. And if you see a page created by "Mobokill" (yeah, that's me alright :D) I give you the permission to call it your own ;) I'll have to talk with the other contributors there for the other pages, so that's all for now. Sorry ... Everyone's busy cause of the new year, new school/college/uni terms and all. But if they say so, I'll let y'all know :D

Cheers, Ashkeal (btw, I'm Ashkael at Diablopedia :P Typo lol)

Thanx Equinox :) Although it's russian and I don't have much to ask em anyway lol, it's the thought that counts ;)

I'm pretty hyped up after those two interviews ... Was it Gamespot or IGN?? They're sure making it replay-friendly :) I like replayable games. They never become old :D
