posted a message on 2.4 The Shadow's Mantle questions

I've not played much on the PTR but I'm curious about The Shadow's Mantle set for DHs. I don't have much experience with DHs and I can't test right now due to work but I must get this answered! :P

Can you wield a one hand melee weapon and a one hand crossbow at the same time? Would the damage increase from 2 set TSM apply if you wield a one hand melee weapon and a one hand crossbow at the same time?

I honestly don't know. I simply used Ese since I didn't need anything else socketed for exp farming. Shared exp or not, I just used it :P

    Curious about this as well!

posted a message on D3 has no endgame.

What about leaderboards? That's a type of endgame which also requires loot hunting. Then again, I'm unsure about how you define "loot hunting". If you mean targeting a specific monster which drops a specific item no one else does then Diablo III doesn't have much loot hunting part from Machines.

Well, healing monk ain't dead, it has only evolved to Epiphany: Soothing Mist so I see no problem bringing a "weak" sup barb^^

posted a message on Quin's Itemization Rant
    Quote from homerjnick»

Wyatt Cheng replies to Quin on Reddit...and says exactly what I said on here a few days ago...Blizzard have to cater for all play types, casual as well as end game and the rant from Quin only really affects the very end game...of which the % of D3 players never get to.

Could you throw me a link to that post or is it what's said in the diablofans news today? It might only effect the very endgame but I still think it is the wrong way to go. I want to pick the helm which makes my kicks toss around fireballs because of that very mechanic, not because the item in it self have an affix which increase my kicks damage.

posted a message on [2.4] How will we farm paragon levels next patch?

1-2 sup + 2-3 dps I guess will be optimal still. However, I think hybrid support/dps will be more common, for instance monks with Epiphany: Soothing Mist for healing doesn't gimp you in the same way as Mantra of Healing does live. As long as you have high AS and 75% CDR you can roll with whatever stats you prefer. You'll still not do tons of damage but you'll do way, way more than a zDPS.

Could be possible utility will be spread on everyone in the group as well, but I think 1-2 characters focusing on utility/support will be more effective.

    Quote from Kamui_1337»

You and several other people seem to be missing some info about how to effectively use Broken Promises.

Yea there are break points for IAS however you need to factor in the proc coefficients when you theory craft.

Say you use a monk. people automatically assumes fastest to 5 hits is best way to go. However by default you have 5% CHC on your character. The best skill to use for BP is Fist of thunder : static charge. or thunderclap. Both have a 42.7% Proc. however SC has a secondary proc of 30.8%. an extremely low proc coefficient will diminish the value of your 5% base CHC. Think about it, why do you use a dual generator for static charge monk? because WOTHF: fist of fury on its 3rd hit has a 100% proc coefficient.

If you do not factor these procs into your theory you be in this infinite loop.

Does proc coefficients effect crit chance? I am confused.

More cdr? Lol. So what do you do, punch a mob til you see yellow and tap SSS? You should try turning off damage numbers altogether and just playing the build, see if it improves your time. My build may work differently but keeping track of bp only slows me down

Ah, no. I just spam SSS when it's up. It's just anticlimactic when most of the BP uptime is used with generators :P

Here's my monk (rolling with Spirit Guards instead of Madstone in solo): http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Zephire-2318/hero/65635880

Also, with BP you miss out on 50 paragon points since you don't want to spend points in crit chance, which is sad^^

Don't think it's the best solo build, CoE is more reliable. The thing is, you might proc BP with SSS but then what? You'll have a CD on SSS until most of the BP duration have passed.

It's just my opinion and that opinion is based around feeling so I might very well be playing it wrong, I don't know. I just felt that gr60 were quite frustrating due to BP procing on the last SSS and then you have 3ish sec until you can use SSS again.

posted a message on New to Diablo 3 and have some questions

And if you buy the game it might still be a bit hard to find people to play with since we're close to this seasons end. This means most people are level 70, farming high endgame or taking a break until next season.

Next season should most likely start around early January. A new season means everyone who want to play season starts from level 1. At the end of a season all your progress, characters and items will be converted to none season, nothing is lost. If you're going to play the full game I suggest that you try it out now. Learn mechanics, explore areas and try to join a clan which aims for the next season and don't forget community. There's a lot of nice community's where you chat and play with other people.

When season 5 starts, join that season and play through it. There's specific rewards which can only be obtained through season and since you're new to the game you won't really have any progress worthy saving :) Seasons are super fun!
