Looks like Walmart.com is offering CE preorders right now. Says ships on 3/15 so you won't get it for release day but at least you can get your hands on the CE.
I doubt the starter edition (demo) will be anything other than the beta. It's saying you can still keep playing these couple levels, but if you want so see the rest you need to pay up.
I'll be playing on my PC but a console version would be great for those that don't have decent computers. If it were to come out for consoles I'd also love to see cross-platform multiplayer. Assuming you'd have to connect to Battle.net anyway, I'd think this would be theoretically possible
Without cross-platform multiplayer, I'd probably end up buying it so I could play with my console buddies.
I'm ok with the direction things are going right now, though I believe it definately needs some more tweaking. The main thing that bugs me is the loss of ranked runes. I thought it might help add an element of immersion into your character progression; basically another noticeble incremental power increase, especially post-level 60.
At the very least I think runes should scale with level, though I'll admit I don't know what that would mean for balancing and tuning. Maybe even 'Runic Power' shrines that would work like a skill shrine, only boosting the power of all equipped runes instead.
Definately need to see more of the game before I can really decide if this will even be an issue. Can't wait!
I wouldn't mind playing through some Classic Diablo again. My personal preference would be Hellfire but can you even play Hellfire on Battle.Net? I remember being able to unlock LAN play through the command.txt 'hack' but I don't recall an online option in there. If it can be done, I'd definately be interested in playing anytime Sunday thru Tuesday.
Edit: To whoever's trying to get a toon to level 50, good freaking luck! Haha I played single player Hellfire (allowed all three difficulties on single player) for months and months and months on my Rogue and never got past 47. Grinding Hell and the Crypt gets really, really boring after a while.

I was thinking about going to a store and doing it the old fashion way, but i have been thinking about using amazon. But if i did go though amazon i was wanting to make sure that they send it out before the release date so i would have it the day of . . . and check out all the cool CE stuff right away.
Not sure how amazon does it, but in reading info at eb/gamestop website, they try to send it out early provided your pre-order meets certain conditions. For example, you would have had to put your pre-order in before a certain date; pre-orders are processed on a first come, first serve basis, so they would need to have sufficient quantities of the CE; lastly, there cannot be any issues with processing your payment when they want to ship you the game.
VGA on 10 December and i hope a new easter egg comes out on 30 November so we diablofans get to know the release date shortly before the announcement.
Hmmm I think I'm coming up with a bit of a conspiracy theory. Diablo III will win the Most Anticipated Game of 2012 award at the VGA's, and Blizzard will use this opportunity to say "Guess what folks! The wait is over!"
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we already have a release date for the other two games in the running for this award? Makes sense.....
Also, wouldn't the screenshot go to your Diablo III screenshot folder? Should be in Documents>Diablo III>Screenshots, at least that's where mine ended up.
Ah, there we go, I was expecting it to go to the program folder (forgot Windows 7 likes to put things where they make sense, I'm still stuck on XP thinking). Not going to bother posting it now though, didn't realize others had been finding them too.
You can't complain about nerfs unless you've played the new build. I can say that while things look like they were nerfed for the wizard, with the change to weapon damage my patch 5 Wizard is doing about 20dps more than my patch 4 Wizard (who had almost all crafted gear and was 2 levels higher).
Edit: Still using a Wand as well. Had a shortsword equipped for a while until I found a wand that compared to the sword's dps.
I was roaming around the Cathedral level 2 and I had my first non SK rare drop out of a chest, about 60 seconds before the server resart. I wish I had a screenshot to prove it, but alas, the print screen key only gave me a 1360x768 gray box when I pasted it into mspaint. It was a Targe Shield with about 43 armor rating and 5-7 other stats on it.
Last I knew rares were only dropping from the first SK kill. Could this be a non-noted patch change?

Guess they're not so hard to find after all. At least not right now. Buy.com has a limit of 2 per customer.

Also got a chuckle reading some of the "CE Pre-Orders Not Available" threads.
October 2011 - "It's retarded to pre-order now! I'm holding off 'til we have a release date!"
March 2012 - "I went to pre-order my CE and they were SOLD OUT! WTF?!?"
Glad I was one of the ones who pre-ordered in October.

And pretty much make it a requirement that you have to press on for a couple levels before attempting to face him.
