Don't you see, guys? It's so clear! Zharhym knows exatcly when will be the release day and is trying to say inbetween his words so we can read between the lines and finally get it!
It's so obvious, blizzard everyday trying to troll us...
Now, serious... This is so constantly happening that is getting really boring. Blizzard has always been like this, it doesn't have a strict time schedule, so people try endlessly to find reasons to believe the release is nigh. Everyone would be better off living their lives without worrying so much about this game. There are some pretty good games that were out late last year, so, try to relax and when the game is done, you will undoubtably know some weeks in advance, even if you don't follow the news at all, they will come to you.
Stop trying to think that "there will be no release date announcement" means "we will make the release date announcement", or "sign of the release date".

Guys, 20 years have passed in sanctuary and the new trend is skinny. Diablo always follows the trends. -
Jan 4, 2012Roger posted a message on Diablo's Anniversary, South Korea Rating, Lashing Tail Kick RunedIs something wrong with the comments? My comment just got repeated two times and I can't edit/delete them (but this one I can).Posted in: News

Well, given this piece of information then we know that this is Blizzard testing the downloader before it opens the beta. There's not many phases that I could imagine after this one before the beta (F&F) goes out, maybe they will still test the addition of some patches to test the loader updates and that's it. -

Aug 5, 2011Roger posted a message on DiabloCast: Episode XX - Give Me Options or Give Me DEATH!Some people complain so much about the RMAH that makes us even forget about how the AH will be awesome after all...Posted in: News
I just remembered my early D2 days trying to trade items in the chat channel spamming a summarized list of my items and waiting for someone to whisper with an offer. Or may entering games with the "TRADE" title and waiting for ages for someone with gear that interested me to appear and make offers that normally weren't good for me at all. All the games "ITEM X FT" that I had to rush into before someone took the item.
The AH in D3 may not be perfect, but it will be awesome nonetheless. -

I wouldn't worry about it, only a few countries actual have any online tax revenue and like I said it optional to claim (its hard to prove and unless you make A LOT of money it isn't in your personal interest to do so). I think I over analyzed the situation and another user politely informed me that my approach to claiming online revenue was off, but all I wanted to say that its very pointless to worry about claiming revenue from this.
The Brazillian government always finds a way to increase taxes. This year they've increased a tax for international transactions using a credit card to almost 10%. Steam games are one of the examples that are being taxed this way. And this is only one of many taxes that we pay in this kind of transaction. -

As for taxes not sure how it is in the States but in Canada it has to be a lot before you "SHOULD" claim, key word is SHOULD. Basically unless your raking in a comfortable living there is no point worry about claiming anything. I would also argue the point until you cash out (blizz will get a cut from that) how can you claim anything? To apply tax on income generated you also need to apply tax reductions to losses generated, so unless blizzard provides the necessary tax papers for income gained/lost in a fiscal period based on all your transactions, there is no way to determine actual income unless you cash out.
I hadn't even thought about taxes. I'm from Brazil, if we get a separated server for us in LA, RMAH will starve, our tax share here is about 40% on average.
So, every NA player who wants to paly without RMAH, come to the LA servers. -
Aug 5, 2011Roger posted a message on DiabloCast: Episode XX - Give Me Options or Give Me DEATH!I also think that people won't earn many money on RMAH. The e-balance is completely funded by real money, so, to earn money someone must pay for it beforehand. Those examples of expensive items in Diablo 2 doesn't apply IMO, because of many reasons:Posted in: News
1- I don't really think people paid $1400 for items, if someone ever paid crazy ammounts of money, it was a very little minority.
2- The prices got high because only some people sold it in ebay and later some shops appeared to increase the demand, in D3 every player will be able to sell and, following what people are saying here, there will be lots of people selling their high-end items for money, then the demand will increase in a bidding system, the prices are expected to lower a lot
3- Due to the low price in RMAH, more people may prefer to sell items for gold sometimes, lowering even more the number of people that would by only in the RMAH due to the exclusively high-end only appearing there.
We will only know when the game comes out and is some months old, but I don't see any way people really making money comparable to a job, or even close to it. -
Aug 5, 2011Roger posted a message on DiabloCast: Episode XX - Give Me Options or Give Me DEATH!I'm intending to use only gold, and voted for it.Posted in: News
But thinking again, I wouldn't mind selling items for e-balance to build it up and also use it as currency. What I WON'T do no matter what are spending or earning real money with the game.
But I will only do that if the economy favors it, my initial intention is to only use gold. -
Aug 5, 2011Roger posted a message on It Ends with DiabloAll these "leaks" seem to have been expected by Blizzard. Jay wouldn't let that "slip away" so easily.Posted in: News
So, this makes me think, Blizzard is well-known for having many surprises and hiding information to big dates or releases.
Then, what may they still be hiding? There are at least two important dates before the release (gamescom and Blizzcon) and I'm pretty sure that at least for BlizzCon there will be a big announcement (and it shouldn't be the release date). -

Am I the only one that finds the Blues topics really confusing? I am not a native english speaker, but I understand it quite well, but when I am reading some Blues posts I try hard to understand but sometimes they seem to be made not to.
Is he saying that "drops will be increased" or "drops will be reduced" when the item floods in the AH?
Also, regarding legendaries, the problem is not that they are bad, the problem is that they are way hard to find. Both legendaries they quoted in this post are quite good for their levels, but the near 0 chance to find them in a characters lifetime makes them quite useless whenever they find with with another char in a higher level.
The low-level uniques drop rate in D2 was quite nice. You didn't get a unique everytime, but you got one sometimes and when you got them, it was a nice upgrade for the moment and then it would get weaker in the next levels, but you had a chance to find them and it meant something.

Yesterday there was an obvious troll post with a guy saying he was hacked despite of being a PhD T.I. student working for Oracle using a dedicated VMware machine just for playing without even an Internet browser, using weekly random generated 17-char long strong password generated in Amazon EC2 virtual machines that got transfered behind a 128bit SSL connection behind 3 firewalls that logged every connection different from the usual.
Even with the obvious troll signs like doing all this and not having an authenticator, or his other posts claiming that people who say that have T.I. degrees are whining, people started to cheer for him and use him as an example that anyone could be hacked and that was Blizzard's fault. I don't doubt that people will also exaggerate and spread rumors about a "friend of his" that worked for the government of security and was hacked while he was playing at the pentagon and also using an authenticator.
I spent 15 minutes posting topics of "Guys, seriously, this post is a troll, read the comments for proof.". But no one remotely read any of my replies. They just want to spread rumors and find consolation to think that they were hacked due to Blizzard's fault, not their cracked games which possibly contain keyloggers or their stupid assumption that using an authenticator is useless and just add a layer of annoying stupid security standards.

I don't know about you, but I think that Blizzard's official notice is a lot more reliable than random people in the internet.
If Blizzard was lying about this there would be lots of topics in these or the official forums with at least a screenshot of the authenticator confirmation e-mail before the hacks.
People are just losing their minds because of their own lack of security and trying to make people believe that this is not their fault.

About the usefulness, in Normal they were great. Especially the Ruby in the weapon. If they become less useful in later difficulties, they should increase the ammount of moidifers instead of giving different actions just on helm, weapon and others or boosting the bonuses in later levels.
But please, don't remove the unsocket without destroying neither the item nor the gem.

Have you NEVER bought something on the internet that got delayed past estimated delivery date?
Have you NEVER arranged a meeting with someone that got locked in the traffic and couldn't make it?
Have you NEVER bought a defective item that took at least a week to be replaced even with every part playing by the rules?
Have you NEVER have to cancel a planned vacation due to work/family/financial/weather problems?
I could go on and on with a thousand everyday situations that would get you to postpone great expectations due to unforseeable events. If you have never been in one of those either you live in a bubble or are lying about having a job, a wife and a child.

Remember that the Americas server is by far the most populated of the servers.
If you want to play without any problems, have yout usual tuesday and play it only at night. Or maybe rewrite your memories and fool yourself into thinking that the game will be release the 16th. Either way you will probably be able to play right away hopefully without any problems.

It seems a lot better for R$ 350.00 because SC2 CE cost about R$ 500.00 and I have been told that there are some stores that even today still have some copies left because no one would buy them.
I wonder if someone really bought the game for R$ 900,00 before they got to know about the discount. Wouldn't surprise me, there are a lot of people who paid R$ 3500.00 (almost US$ 2000.00) for the 64 GB Iphone 4S in the Brazillian Apple Store.
EDIT: Only 150 copies that sold out in 10 minutes and there will be an other 150 in the 17th? Man, this is going to be hard.

Here in Brazil today they've announced the CE for R$ 899.90, that's about US$ 500.00.
I really don't think anyone will find a more expensive CE anywhere.

Someone being able to play before you is really that disappointing? So just because you can't play before, no one else should?
If people are so worried about it, then try sleeping from GDT 0:00 to PDT 0:00 (9 hours) so when the game is released you can play it all night long without sleeping.
I'm only possibly being apt to play at about 19:00 at GMT -3 (15:00 pdt) and I don't even care that all the world have played for hours before me.
0
Does that mean that they do appear or they really don't appear?

And as no one even remotely remembers the delay right now, or how they "hated" the design decisions makes me know how much Blizzard was right about saying "no one will remember about delays after the release".

(Also, I don't want to get addicted to the game and not be able to play it again on monday, so the wait would be a lot worse)

And yes, they made it a little less gayer than he was before, but he is still gay.
