posted a message on Buffing of Legendary Items, Legendary Debate, Item Drops and the Auction House, Blue Posts, Inferno Poll
i have ZERO chance to find a legendary, because the server has now adjusted the rates on the fly, because others have already found it.
That's not what was said or implied at all, sorry if it was confusing. The AH doesn't have any affect on the literal drop rates of items depending on what's available.

What I said, and what is true, is that with far more players and an increased proliferation of item trade, we have to factor in how many items are being found by players and how quickly a player can gear up by 'sourcing' items from others through trade and the convenience of the gold auction house.

If we say "a player should have X power in Y amount of time through drops" and completely ignore that the time factor can be reduced by simply having access to more drops through trading and the auction house, players would be gearing up far quicker than we've determined they should. It has nothing to do with the auction house per se, but the general ease at which players have access to more items than they would without it and us needing to keep that in mind while balancing drops. It would be rather poorly thought out if we balanced drops completely ignoring all of the ways players can gear up, and trading is certainly one of them.

Obviously everyone wants the best gear possible as quickly as possible, and us attempting to mediate that through design that takes all factors into account is not always going to be a popular notion.

Am I the only one that finds the Blues topics really confusing? I am not a native english speaker, but I understand it quite well, but when I am reading some Blues posts I try hard to understand but sometimes they seem to be made not to.

Is he saying that "drops will be increased" or "drops will be reduced" when the item floods in the AH?

Also, regarding legendaries, the problem is not that they are bad, the problem is that they are way hard to find. Both legendaries they quoted in this post are quite good for their levels, but the near 0 chance to find them in a characters lifetime makes them quite useless whenever they find with with another char in a higher level.

The low-level uniques drop rate in D2 was quite nice. You didn't get a unique everytime, but you got one sometimes and when you got them, it was a nice upgrade for the moment and then it would get weaker in the next levels, but you had a chance to find them and it meant something.

posted a message on Current Players in Inferno, Finding and Trading Gear, Blue Posts, Inferno Act 3 Farming Spot
The people in the official forums are a joke. It seems that are so many spoiled troll kids that things aren't even possible of discussing.

Yesterday there was an obvious troll post with a guy saying he was hacked despite of being a PhD T.I. student working for Oracle using a dedicated VMware machine just for playing without even an Internet browser, using weekly random generated 17-char long strong password generated in Amazon EC2 virtual machines that got transfered behind a 128bit SSL connection behind 3 firewalls that logged every connection different from the usual.

Even with the obvious troll signs like doing all this and not having an authenticator, or his other posts claiming that people who say that have T.I. degrees are whining, people started to cheer for him and use him as an example that anyone could be hacked and that was Blizzard's fault. I don't doubt that people will also exaggerate and spread rumors about a "friend of his" that worked for the government of security and was hacked while he was playing at the pentagon and also using an authenticator.

I spent 15 minutes posting topics of "Guys, seriously, this post is a troll, read the comments for proof.". But no one remotely read any of my replies. They just want to spread rumors and find consolation to think that they were hacked due to Blizzard's fault, not their cracked games which possibly contain keyloggers or their stupid assumption that using an authenticator is useless and just add a layer of annoying stupid security standards.

    Quote from Flicker

http://www.examiner....diablo-3-hacked Just read it... And the comments. People with authenticator have been reporting being hacked.

I don't know about you, but I think that Blizzard's official notice is a lot more reliable than random people in the internet.

If Blizzard was lying about this there would be lots of topics in these or the official forums with at least a screenshot of the authenticator confirmation e-mail before the hacks.

People are just losing their minds because of their own lack of security and trying to make people believe that this is not their fault.

posted a message on Usefulness of Gems, Legendary Gear Balancing, Blue Posts, and Interview and Review for "The Order"
I just love to be able to take gems off. In D2 you hardly ever used gems because they would be forever gone with the item. Now you can put a gem in every socketed item you have and take it back whenever you want. This feels really great!

About the usefulness, in Normal they were great. Especially the Ruby in the weapon. If they become less useful in later difficulties, they should increase the ammount of moidifers instead of giving different actions just on helm, weapon and others or boosting the bonuses in later levels.

But please, don't remove the unsocket without destroying neither the item nor the gem.

OMG, some people who have children still sound like spoiled children when they find out that their present will be due Dec. 26 instead of 25.

Have you NEVER bought something on the internet that got delayed past estimated delivery date?
Have you NEVER arranged a meeting with someone that got locked in the traffic and couldn't make it?
Have you NEVER bought a defective item that took at least a week to be replaced even with every part playing by the rules?
Have you NEVER have to cancel a planned vacation due to work/family/financial/weather problems?

I could go on and on with a thousand everyday situations that would get you to postpone great expectations due to unforseeable events. If you have never been in one of those either you live in a bubble or are lying about having a job, a wife and a child.

posted a message on Will the americas server launch smoothly?
    Probably other errors may arise.

Remember that the Americas server is by far the most populated of the servers.

If you want to play without any problems, have yout usual tuesday and play it only at night. Or maybe rewrite your memories and fool yourself into thinking that the game will be release the 16th. Either way you will probably be able to play right away hopefully without any problems.

posted a message on Diablo 3 the "Most preordered PC game in history" for Amazon.
I wonder how many preorders counting the battle.net ones have been made. If they join the numbers probably it will be the most preordered game by far since the vast majority pre-order the digital version all around the world.

posted a message on Most expensive CE in the world
Oh, sorry, didn't know about the discount.

It seems a lot better for R$ 350.00 because SC2 CE cost about R$ 500.00 and I have been told that there are some stores that even today still have some copies left because no one would buy them.

I wonder if someone really bought the game for R$ 900,00 before they got to know about the discount. Wouldn't surprise me, there are a lot of people who paid R$ 3500.00 (almost US$ 2000.00) for the 64 GB Iphone 4S in the Brazillian Apple Store.

EDIT: Only 150 copies that sold out in 10 minutes and there will be an other 150 in the 17th? Man, this is going to be hard.

Where do you guys think that sells the most expensive CE in the world?

Here in Brazil today they've announced the CE for R$ 899.90, that's about US$ 500.00.

I really don't think anyone will find a more expensive CE anywhere.

posted a message on US Servers go live at 12:01 a.m. PDT, EU servers will go live at 00:01 CEST
What's the problem of Europe is getting the game before? It is also getting to May 15th before.

Someone being able to play before you is really that disappointing? So just because you can't play before, no one else should?

If people are so worried about it, then try sleeping from GDT 0:00 to PDT 0:00 (9 hours) so when the game is released you can play it all night long without sleeping.

I'm only possibly being apt to play at about 19:00 at GMT -3 (15:00 pdt) and I don't even care that all the world have played for hours before me.

Does that mean that they do appear or they really don't appear?

posted a message on Open Beta Weekend!
People complaining about difficulties to log in the free unexpected open beta weekend just about hours from the opening makes me finally realise why people complaint so much of the game designs during the development phase. People complain about everything!

And as no one even remotely remembers the delay right now, or how they "hated" the design decisions makes me know how much Blizzard was right about saying "no one will remember about delays after the release".

I'm not going to play the Beta. I'll just save the fresh experience for the release. :)

(Also, I don't want to get addicted to the game and not be able to play it again on monday, so the wait would be a lot worse)

The female wizard is 1 million times cooler than the gay male version of it.

And yes, they made it a little less gayer than he was before, but he is still gay.
