Nah, I'm a sucker for bad looking things :P.
Seriously, you guys have to see the big picture here this is a close up of a model that isn't supposed to be seen that way. I don't like this particular piece of armor but I like the ideas behind it, for a 5/18, this is where it should stand. The mask design isn't too flashy but it gets the job done and the rest is very light jungle material. This is wood, but when we're gonna get to the metal pieces, I'm pretty sure you'll change your opinion. I still prefer the Male witch doctor though since the bushmans usually are male. Also, this set is missing the most important aspects of the voodoo culture...spirit and death (I know voodoo is about life but I'm speaking about the diablo voodoo here ^_^). Cranium/skulls, tatoos, symbols, animals/serpents and very demonic masks. I mean we have a lot to build on from this simple level 5. I'm happy to see that they haven't gone too wild yet with the first armor sets, I'm hoping that they do get crazy with the theme at a later level.
So, all this to say that I like this piece of equipment, but I have to admit that it isn't spectacular. I have great hopes for the future sets since this one is just an ordinary piece of armor, I can imagine uniques and set items looking freaking incredible with this style ^_^!

Ya! that's something I'm also interested in. I also hope they up the details a notch or 2. I like the style but I agree with most of you about the bland and plain graphics at certain spots.

Ya I agree, the succubus kicked ass in D1, it was one of the most arousing and terrifying thing in the game. I was torn between loving the thing and hating it 0_o!

If it's lightly scratched, you could car wax on it and wash it off with a smooth cotton cloth. It worked for my LOD cd, I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work on you DII cd ^_^.

Lets put this in perspective now, we were told that there wouldn't be an act 3 shown at this year's blizzcon. This gives us little choice, it's either act 1-2 or 4. There will also be a jungle showcased so it's either a transition from act 1 to act 2 or from act 2 to act 3. My guess is that this will be show during the "Creation of Sanctuary" panel.
So what's left for the gameplay panel? Well perhaps a new crafting system but I doubt it as we have seen a lot of stuff regarding that matter. We haven't seen the rune system for a long time so I guess it will make an appearance during the gameplay panel. Also, it is my honest opinion that they will show the last class during the gameplay panel. We will then have the opportunity to see all the different systems for every class, the rune system that puts a nice twist and maybe the final mana systems. This should, take up 2 hours.

The more precice term would be living dead or animated dead !

Seriously man, I'm tired of people complaining all the time about every little details. Ya sure, we need people like you, pointing out anomalies in games, finding bugs no one has seen. I like people who wanna change some stuff for the better. The only problem is, on this particular matter, arguing over the graphics of D3 is futile and useless. It may be your opinion, but at this point it doesn't matter and it won't make a difference. So basically it's complaining for the sake of complaining. I hate that and it pisses me off and this is why I'm commenting on your opinion, but I'm not targeting you directly.

Dude, you're making a big deal out of it and you shouldn't. The graphics are fine and different from the rest of the games we see. I will admit that I like a more artistic oriented style over realism when it comes to fantasy games. Diablo 3 is fine and provides a decent amount of mature and gore stuff. I am satisfied with what they came up with. Seriously, why dwell on what should have been and rejoice at what we currently have? You're gonna waste more energy crying over YOUR vision of diablo than accepting a nice change at the end.

YES! Exactly my thoughts. They said that acts won't be = to a certain setting/environment. It is pretty obvious that there will be a shift from desert to jungle in the game and it will logically be at the end of act 2 +1 for you man !

What do you need to make a great cake?
-Flour
-Salt
-Baking powder
-Eggs
-Water
-Lots of love and attention
alright, if you take out the salt, baking powder and eggs.... you'll end up with just flour and water... and love. While it may satisfy you for a few minutes, plain dough has it's backdraws. It tends to get tasteless pretty fast and can't keep up with my insatiable hunger for more Cakezz.
So now, how does this succulent cake apply to diablo 3 will you say? Beside the fact that it tastes looks and smells great, it proves that you can't pass judgement on a still picture as it misses most of the games core features and so it seems... tasteless. Making pictures/movies using 3D with a nice setting is easy. They've made countless movies using such techniques (Final Fantasy, Pixar movies, Dreamworks...), they all look great but they are not games. Making a movie is not equal to making a game and the same thing applies to pictures. I know some of you guys pointed that out (scybedragon for instance), but I just wanna add my grain of salt.
Also, on the same optic, photoshopped pictures. WTH is the problem with you guys? I've been using photoshop for 6 years now and I've also made textures for my 3D projects. Changing a picture and making a texture is not the same thing and it also doesn't look the same. What you are all doing is change a picture's lightning setting and nothing more. I'd like to see you change the actual character, in game, and make him look like that... it's hard as hell and it will always depend on the environment. In a dark setting he won't stand out, in a light setting he'll look like a shadow. A balance must be made here and it really takes time to do it. Also I find it funny how people change the pictures... a couple of ovelays, drop lightning and some painting. I can do that also :
Normal bland picture______________________Super cool pimped out picture .My vision of what a civic SHOULD look like
Seriously though, stop doing it and leave it be.
As for the other points, I think that every point has been discussed extensively for the past 2-3 years, I therefore have nothing else to add.
Finally, graphics are fine the way they are. Too much details and there isn't enough room for your imagination to fill up the blanks, not enough details and there is nothing more to see. Diablo 3 is right in the middle of all this and exactly where it should be. Whine, cry, kick all you want, diablo 3 is gonna remain as it is now and this is how it will be. It's inspired after WOW, FINE what isn't nowadays? It takes stuff from other successful games? So what, if it works why change it? The nature does it...look at the evolution of species and you'll know what I mean. SO if mother earth does it...why shouldn't her 4th son, Jay Wilson the 4th, do it also?
As a closing argument, oncology recapitulates phylogeny. Diablo 3 is the proud successor of diablo 1 and 2, it's an evolution in gaming. It takes from his 2 brothers to make a new unique entity capable of living on his own as a standalone title.
And soon, IT shall be born.
