The beta acceptance is through an account. SO you get the beta in your account and sign in (in the game) with that said account. At least that's my understanding of the process.

posted a message on Sound FX and Soundtracks
This topic is for anyone with a keen ear who wishes to share their experience with the diablo demos concerning the ambient sounds and music. Each year, I try to ask questions about the soundtracks and such that really make diablo... well diabolic. So I'm asking to anyone what they felt from an audio standpoint, do they match the atmosphere well, did you feel uplifted at some times, down at other times.

More importantly, I would like Sixen to come forth and discuss this aspect of the game that was, in my humble opinion, neglected from the original report. I'm talking here about the cinematic and the game.

posted a message on Skill Points Removal Fuels Game Controversy
A big question I had about the system turns more around the passives than the active skills. What are they planning to with with all the traits they had ??? Are they gonna reuse them as passives or are they gonna do new ones?

Meh to be honest, I'm starting to decompress now. I don't know for you guys but I'm getting tired of this. I'm pretty sure they have something in store to serve as a reward for leveling. I used to be on the against the skill change side and now I just am neutral to it all.

Blizz is not responding on the BNet forums, which makes me think that it really is a 4th difficulty and they didn't mean for this to slip out just yet.

...skips nightmare mode. There's no reference for what the two modes--Hell and Inferno--are harder than. It could be that they changed the name of Nightmare, we don't know.

The images we have seen might have been taken in an older build. Things could have been renamed.

Personally? Yes, I agree that it's probably another endgame challenge. But that does not mean that we can take this as fact simply because we want it to be true. Maybe there's a fudge cake in front of me because I want it to be there. After all, I'm hungry. Maybe because I'm hungry the cake exists.

But we all know that the cake is a lie.

this would have been true if this screenshot didn't exist :)

posted a message on Largest Impact From the Updates?
    Quote from Ferrari_13

    I vote in game community.

Even though D2 was pretty cut throat, you would often find kind and generous people trying to help other players out. With the RMT AH, I can see every decision to help other people being attached to some $ amount.

Even RL friends may hide gear they find, because they rather make a few buck than give it away. Can you imagine an open loot system with RMT AH?

You have a great point here, something I haven't given thought to. It could also mean more value from an act of generosity. I mean the guy could make $$$ but instead finds it in his heart to give it instead. Still between friends, this doesn't affect me from giving. With strangers, i'll probably think twice ... unlike what I used to do.

posted a message on Consensus: Yay or Nay?
This is all a departure from what we are all used to. I loved the impact implicated by investing points into certain trees, it felt like a real time investment. Like when I train myself to learn a skill, I invest my time in it. this is what it made me feel like. Instead I see a GuildWars copycat, a shell of a game. This is not diablo like, not at all. I can understand people spending all the points into only 1 skill because you can spam a super strong skill instead of a couple of weak ones. This is logical, in fact this is what I planned to do. However nerfing the whole system is not a solution...there must be a better way to deal with these obvious flaws.

I like restarting my characters to have different types of sorc, necro, pal. It makes me feel like a builder, constructing a toolset of characters ready to deal with different situations. With the current skill system, I only need 1 monk, 1 wiz, 1 of each to have my toolset. I mean this could be a good thing, but it all depends on the end game content. With the D2 system, you end the game and you're like :" Alright now that I made my teleporting monk build, time to make myself a nice Demon Hunter trapper". Now with the new D3 system, when you're done with your character, you can go for male or female but the builds and mechanics will essentially be the same. In the end, it's hard to say anything about all this without playing the actual game, being a classic D2 player and vet, I instinctively resist the change made to core mechanics of my beloved game.

It's sad, but I understand that it may be for the best, it's like cutting your hand because it was bitten by a diamond back rattlesnake. You don't want to do it but it has to be done!

For the trading system... I don't care. Let those cakefaces spend their money in a game they just bought 50$ (wow spending money to spend money... how ... Irconicaly moronic) while I have fun killing demons and whatnot. If they get good gear by doing that, let them, more power to the stupid. With the automatch system, they will fight equally stupid people and I will be there killing monsters and having fun enjoying the contents of my game. Seriously, you can't fix stupid, so just make a system for them and i'll even be able to profit from it. In the end, everyone is happy, I know I am.

Hold your horses there Jake, you're assuming that Blizz will close the servers. D2 has been up for now more than 10 years and the servers are still up and running. But I'm on the same page as you when it comes to piracy, there's no stopping them.

Every\Any security can be breached with time, a LAN feature will be available one day so I'm not worried about it. THing is, it still pisses me off when they decide to make us suffer without any real reason. People who wanted to buy the game bought it, others instead pirated. D2 made gang busters and it had LAN, I don't get what changed since then?

WHat? Aren't we responsible enough now that you have to babysit us? Anyway, they are just adding gas to an already lit fire if you want my opinion. In the end, it won't change a thing except scrap a classic feature in an original title away from loyal fans, good job.... whoever had that brilliant idea.

I can't blame Blizz for protecting their products, but at what cost may I ask, at what cost? Next thing we'll see is a national inquiry each 3 months where Blizz officials will ransack every house to find illegal copies of D3 ^^... just putting it out there as a possibility! With Blizzard everything is possible, BlizzCon\BlizzCan\BlizzWill.. enough said :P.

I will miss LAN, runewords, HBR_347 (ahhh those nights) :QQ: , 99 Frenzy pve barb with botdez and lwez, Charsi is hot! i'll miss her, necromancer - he was my first pick, and lore behind him, wd lacks of it imho.

Why are people saying that? We have heard nothing or next to nothing about the lore of each character. Except the usual: this char does that and he comes from here. The necromancers have D2 books attached to them and a well established lore within the diablo universe. So you're right when you say he lacks lore, but it's because he's new in town and you haven't played the guy to feel like a proper Witch Doctor, the experience will probably change you ^_^.

The pay to play model would kill the game for me! I hate those things, not only will I feel rushed into playing D3 everyday, but i'll have to pay the game + a fee every month... nah un, nah un,nah un,nah un! Nada, Niet, Nein, Mai, Non, NO! Forget about it.

I trust them for making a good game, what I would hate to see is a bad business plan. I personally don't think they can impose a pay to play simply because D3 is not that kind of game. Lets just wait and see 0_0.

    - No LAN feature for D3

Lol? Are you serious they've been saying there's not going to be LAN since release. If you want to play multiplayer you have to use bnet.

Damn Damn Damn >.<!!! Why can't they see the light and realise I wanna play at home in a LAN dangit!

Seriously, I thought it was true for SCII but I've never seen it for D3. Ho well :'(.

    What could go wrong?

    - Diablo 3 has become pay to play
    - Armors and weapons are now bound on equip
    - Dye system has been scrapped
    - Hardcore mode has been toned down to please the crowd... the penalty is not death but more gold and items
    - Max number of players in a game is now 2-3
    - Wizard now has mana instead of Arcane Power (thanks Wingless)
    - No shared stash
    - Release in 2012 2nd Quarter
    - Some gay WoW function imported into D3
    - No LAN feature for D3

I'm pretty sure that we're about to see hell on earth, August 1st... for the better or worst.

    Quote from EndersGameD3

And not even "3 pages essey" is enough to explain it to you.

Or anybody else until you can learn to write correctly.

P.S. - If your going to use my quote against me, at least spell "essay" right. It's not helping your argument.

Please Please, stop the grammar wars. Using that as an argument to dismiss someone else's opinion is like saying that my mama's lasagna is better than yours (...although I'm pretty sure that's true :P Hmmmm lasagna :P). Anyway, I do not agree with you on the matter of loot, there shouldn't be more loot when in a party since .... the supplementary is already provided because you are now gaining items for yourself. For exemple, I get 1 armor when I kill a guy alone. NOw you come along and help me kill this other dude, I get 1 armor, you get 1 armor. In the loot system that makes 2 armors dropped, this seems like the drops increased when you joined the game. It's just the way you see it that differs.
