your graphics card should run it decenetly and your processor is pretty nice, but i really dont know why its slow, but i can give a little insight....
From the Recommended options:
supposedly it can use all four cores on a quad core and even on its recommend's list it says that you should use a quad core... (just shows you how what we have today is going to be outdated soon).... and it recommends an ATI graphics card which means that it probably works better with an ATI card... (doesnt really do much of a difference, but still does a little bit)....
now this worries me... i now wonder how long the HD 4870 X2 is going to last until its outdated 0_o..
even the new i7 series of processors.... it seems like they only had quad core for a little bit and now they introduce the i7 series.....(still a quad core processor, but actually acts as an 8 core)..
ha the thing is the group actually has to almost recreate the whole game... so they have to replace the monsters/NPC's with there own.... thats why the whole porject should be done around late January or maybe even late February..... but their site is like diablofans... they realease new features every week/month.... so we are looking at a release soon....
i will try updating (its going pretty slow right now), nd plus theres a hacker among us and it seems to have struck qwerty-games.... so the site will be down for a bit, as of right now my computer sucks and i need a new one so after i buy my motorcycle (cant wait) im going to get a new rig....
but anyways to explain in details what its like.......

can see each other run around with each other attack each other, but the health isnt synced yet so all your killing is a random NPC and not the other player...
Future:
in the future (january-february sometime between there) they plan to have everything synced and a whole server.... then onto fallout 3.....
Features of the Future:
1. you will now be able to attack the same monsters and NPC's
2. DIABLO STYLE LOOT... fight for the loot before the others take it
3. PvP and PvE... in the arena and wilderness..
4. trading...
5. guilds
6. much more....
yea it is pretty sweet playing with friends, but only the other person is synced.... that it.. no monsters/NPC's.......
i mean yea its fun to run around with your friends and all, but it can get boring...
unless you go into a shop and mess around with all the crap on the shelves and stuff XD

I was wondering if there were any modders/programmers that could actually help.... doubt it, but want to try asking anyways, mainly because i want to see this project actually work (rather than the other failed attempts)... and if this project works (which it does partially) then fallout 3 online might be just around the corner....:thumbsup:
the only thing that needs to be done is the monster/NPC sync.... and some bugs from connection....they already have a main server and i have already played it with other people..... it just needs some extra help...

i have a question do you think now that they have life and mana orbs....that there will be weapons and armor you could get that gives you percentage of finding a health or mana orb?
for ex:
Armor of Life:
10% for monster to drop a heath globe
Armor of Mana:
10% for monster to drop a mana globe
(of course theres gonna be an item that will have both effects...)

*cough* well back on subject..... I never used vista, but Ive heard it makes better use of the processor.. say a quad core processor.... and is a better multi-tasker... you just have to get used to the design...
i mean if its cheaper and you have a quad or dual processor i don't see why it would hurt to get it over XP....

oh well i guess ill have to adapt to that..... but anyways i always wondered in D2... how come when you make a town portal the monsters cant follow you through it??
well w/e but itd be pretty cool and add a little more challenge.... but im fine with having checkpoints.... i mean everyone adapts to new things.... i guess....

and im sorry but it seems everyone is thinking of that i mean war in general is social controlling... what i meant (and clearly forgot to add) is how the govt./people use war for social controlling... thank you murderface for pointing that out earlier...
well i haven't given my speech yet, but i have found some arguments against me....
against me:
War failed to control the people and instead made them to separate as in the civil war....
can you guys give a good comeback to that?
An argument i came up with..... please tell me if its a good one:
referring to the Holocaust.... Hitler controlled the info that was sent out (and obviously kept it well hid), because America knew the Jews were being persecuted, but they never knew that they were being tortured and persecuted way beyond there thoughts..... If they would of known this they we would of ended the war as soon as possible.... but hitler knew that and tried to keep in as much info about the persecution of the Jews.. to prevent major actions that could of happened...
one of my better arguments:
the patriot act was an act made in (i believe) 2003 for the war on terrorist which made the govt. be able to (at high threat levels) tap in the phone lines and have more control over privacy of anybody... this for example makes people think about what they say on the phone and limits some of the subjects people can talk about and do... which in my mind is social control...
