posted a message on Diablo 2???

At least they are working on the compatibility issues. Higher res would be great, I would play D2 a lot more often if it had better than 600x800 and could run smooth on my OS.

posted a message on Thorns Sheet Numbers

Hey Everyone.. I was just wondering, for a Thorn's Crusader to push solo Grift 60+, what is a good base number for your Thorns on your stat sheet? I havent seen anything referring to this yet... Im sitting at just above 210k base Thorns on my stat sheet... Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys... Happy Hunting

They nerfed almost every aspect of the Thorns Build. I just hope that all these nerfs, which in turn serve to cripple the build/playstyle, will not make it to live.

posted a message on Why Hit Thorns So Hard ? Blues?

It seemed like Crusaders had a great build/playstyle that harkened back to the Zeal Pally of D2... I thought it was a lot of fun to play, and I thought that it was pretty well balanced with the other classe's power builds.. I think the top on PTR was an 84.. all the other classes were around 80 as well.. Except Wiz, who is at 118.
It just seemed like an unneccessary hard nerf to a really fun build/playstyle that did not exist in the game prior to this build. I dont understand why they hit it so hard... Why not take Thorns passive to 80% or 75% and leave the thorns gem alone.. Its just sad that they destroy a build/playstyle like this after they really did a good job of getting it right. Its things like this that keep your D3 gaming community unhappy Blizz.

posted a message on What to do new season

Hey Altreg01... Fellow D2 veteran here as well. I started D3 pretty casual.. took a break and started up right before Season 2 ladder began.. I gave it a shot. From my experience, playing the season ladders has added quite a bit of enjoyment. It rekindled a bit of that fire I had back in the D2 days. From what I've read and what I have seen on the PTR, the next season, season 4, and the patch that will go with it, 2.3, are going to be pretty great. There are a lot of things going on with this patch that make the game easy to get into and have a lot of fun with. I plan on running the ladders. Granted, I am no top tier player at all.. But its fun to get onto the top 1000 ladder and try to have your name up there somewhere when the season ends and the ladder becomes permanent.

If you are going to play HC for season 3, which I was thinking of doing also, (I've been wanting to play HC since D2 and never had the stones to go through with it lol) I would suggest going with a high utility class that you think you can have fun with and go at it. No matter what you decide to do, gluck and have fun!

posted a message on blizcon xpan what new class you like to seee

I really enjoyed playing the druid back in D2, and I would love to see that become a new class option in D3. Some people mentioned the necro, which was also a fun class in D3. I can't really see the necro coming back in D3, it seems to me that the WD was blizz's way of reinventing that class for the new game.

I love the druid idea because of the ability to build as a caster or melee... but then I think, wait, the Crusader can do that now as well. So I really dont know what direction they will go.. nostalgia tells me to wish for the druid, but I dont know if that would be the best thing for the game.

Whatever it is that they do come up with, I hope its home run and not a strike-out ;]

    posted a message on Disparity

I know that the PTR for 2.3 is a lot of fun and there is much to be excited.

T10, once you have spent the same amount of time gearing that you would on live to do T6, is exactly the same.

Greater Rift 45 on season 3 live is, from my experience, equal to something around Greater Rift 58-60 on the PTR.

If the standard for progression has simply been moved 'to the left' by nerfing mobs and buffing monk sets only to accomodate the drawing out of the Torment system, than there is actually no new challenge. It's the developers dragging the X on the graph where 'character development' and 'CPU monster difficulty' meet further to the northeast of the map. The only thing that bothers me is that those who achieve a solo Greater Rift of 55, 60, 65, etc., in 2.3 will seemingly be completing something that, a season ago, would not have been possible if not for the aforementioned changes.

posted a message on 2.3 Shield Bash

Slaytanicc how do you kill anything quick enough at Grift 55 with no IAS law, no rubies.. seems like your more defensively geared.. I admit my S3 Fire Shield bash 'sader feels a bit like a glass cannon sometimes.. but my biggest trouble is not being able to kill things quick enough to do the Grift.. 45 is my highest solo.. I dont have a furnace either tho..

That being said, lots of great ideas being tossed around here.. looking forward to Fire Rolands 2.3

posted a message on End-game melee "auto-attacking" class?

The monk 2.3 build looks nice... but I was looking for the same thing as you.. in Season 3 I played a Roland's set Shield Bash Crusader and had the most fun I've had since D3 came out.. it was a great class and build for tanky, face smashing play style.

I understand where the priorities of the game designers are oriented.

However, why not make the 'sword n board' Barbarian passive, perhaps, benefit one who equips a shield?

We all know the meta barb builds. Make the sword n board passive skill be more than a joke. Give it some benefits that have

something to do with the sword or the board. Or not.

Im just a combat vet with a public affairs background that knows nothing but enjoys your games.
