Aug 4, 2011theTallic posted a message on Skill Points Removal Fuels Game ControversyI won't miss the tradition of playing a cookie-cutter build. Being able to use all skills available to your class at all times with just about the same amount of power, although with some major differences thanks to the runes, will make the game more interesting.Posted in: News

Jun 17, 2011theTallic posted a message on Which Class to Play?Always been and probably always will be a caster. Reminiscing ye olde days of D2 classic, the very first char I made was a barb and he plain sucked. Knowing not how to assign skills nor stats properly, he was an easy target at lvl 18(!!) for every monster in the Outer Cloister. Things turned out better in the end, but after that melee fiasco I turned to play as a powerful caster in every other game basically, and I've stuck with it ever since.Posted in: News
So here's for a Wizard as my first D3 char.
What also boosts this choice is the fact that every time I "restart" D2 I pick a sorc in order to teleport and do some magic-finding.

Yup, this is some excellent stuff. Although I do hope they change the graphics for the inventory screen though. I'm a graphic designer by trade and that bugs the hell out of me. Very unbalanced left/right wise.
And nobody at Blizzard work with graphic design? Weird, I wonder who's been making all their design choices and the actual art/graphics.. You're entitled to your opinion, but stating your "trade" means nothing when you can't tell what everything's for (it's not even final). I worked with graphic design myself and it looks ace to me! -

9, but it's the same right?Quote from Epsilemna
I'm grateful for the hours they gave D3 though since I'm attending a major national test that very same saturday for 6-8 hours (starts around 8 or 9 in the morning I think), so I won't miss out on anything D3-related if I'm not mistaken (+10 hour difference between Sweden and Cali).
I knew I was off somewhere today.. 10 hour difference, shucks! 9 is even better
Too bad we aren't getting any info on that new mmo they're developing. (Seeing everything on the schedule is named after their current games) - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

It did take me a good 20+ something hours to finish the game (might've been 30+,although I left the game on even if I went out for 30 minutes a few times a week), and I played it through almost two more times after that with two new characters.
Just about two weeks ago I bought Dark Souls because there was no way I was missing out on what is a sequel to one of the best games ever made. I'm close to finishing it off and I must say that it surpasses Demon's Souls by far!
These games are not really suited for casual players with a severly limited time to dedicate to gaming. Unless you possess a couple of these traits: timing, patience, know-how, and actual brains this game is going to beat you to a pulp. Running into fights sword blazing doesn't work here, you will get slaughtered. Instead, study your enemy. Hold up your shield to block, close in on your enemy, back off, dodge, roll, etc. to get a hang of what moves your enemy has, and once you know - KILL HIM/HER/IT! Then you move on and repeat what you just did until you can, without any or much trouble at all, kill everything inbetween 2 bonfires, so you make some progress!
Reading about that guy who was stuck after the tutorial for several hours had me both smiling and face-palming. Make sure not to aggro too many enemies at once, but if you do, back off and then handle them. You already tried it? Not enough. Still getting ganged up on? Stop running and look everywhere before you move ahead. Adjust your camera to peek around corners. Always enter a new room with your shield up!
I want people to experience the awesomeness that is Dark Souls (and Demon's Souls)! Anryone can learn the basics of these games, it's only a matter of will. Scientists have monkeys talk sign language, and they can even ask for food and talk about the weather. If you cannot learn to press the button that shields your face when a sword flies towards it.. Wow.. Just wow.. If you're uneager to sit down and spend time making progress and learning the mechanics of this game, you're bound to have a shitty experience with millions of deaths and many headaches on your chest.
TL;DR
Spend some time playing and learning the basic mechanics to fucking conquer this bitch or fail miserably at this and many, many other games.. and life in general.

What I like about this build is the constant flow of rage in and out. You're supposed to mow down everything that gets in your way and not run away from your foes.
I love the way Seismic Slam looks, and I want to bring in the classic D2-barb-feel by using Whirlwind with life leech. Calling down your bros from the sky is gonna be a sweet addition to your already overpowered, immense might.
LMB: Cleave (Gathering Storm, enemies cleaved movement speed reduced)
RMB: Whirlwind (Blood Funnel, crits restore hp)
1: Seismic Slam (Stagger, chance to stun enemies)
2: Revenge (Retribution, inceased damage)
3: Battle Rage (Info the Fray, chance to regenerate extra Fury)
4: Call of the Ancients (Madawc's Madness, Madawc gains Seismic Slam)
Passives:
Weapons Master
Bloodthirst
Unforgiving

Something that has had no official releasedate cannot have been delayed. Aiming for something is not the same as saying that something will happen at a fixed time/place.

Does it go both ways, meaning you can't spend more than $200 a day, nor can you sell items for more than that sum of money?
Keep in mind that even with such a limit, if you're able to cap it out 22 days of 30, that's $4400 (roughly 30'000 Swedish Crowns), just about 10k more than an average monthly wage in Sweden. Even after taxes and such, you'll be able to cash out a huge amount of money.
I just see this as a possibility to maybe make a few dollars a month, while I'm enjoying an awesome game that will keep me busy for hours on end.
The chances are, that if you do disapprove with this and argue strongly against it, you plan on setting up some kind of business selling items, or even make a living doing this. Not something I'd really recommend for the time being since we don't know how the RMAH will play out.
