I would like to formally protest this post contest.

1.) People are just going to create multiple accounts in order to increase their odds of getting a key.
2.) The long time members are going to get flooded out by the newbs that are ONLY contributing for the key.
3.) The influx of new members normally creates an influx of repeat topics and questions that are often retarded as they are old old old news.

Remember that the last contest wasn't accepted very well by the community. For those who are new or don't remember, the contest at the end of 2011 was a photoshop contest, where the admins gave us a picture from the beta and we had to caption/photoshop it to something they liked. The last week of the contest was a writing contest*.

*I won third place and got myself this awesome "Edyrem" title. Suck it.

the photoshop contest was held to those threads, this is a flooding to an epic level. The writing contest was also Acceptable in my eyes, but really? This contest is just TOO wide spread. Its not going anywhere with So much dead space. What i hate even more is the fact most of those post are seriously 1 or 2 liners.

I hope they rework the gems, they sucked! they were terrible stats on them and i honestly hope they had a few, maybe give skulls back to us aswell.
D2 gems felt very limited and lacklustre. What I like about D3 gems are that they represent the new attribute building system, and they come with an extra useful stat (well +gold and MF is useful, +xp not so much). They shouldn't trey to go all crazy with gems, instead they should bring back the Mystic. She was the best part of gear customization in the game, and they removed her.

The reason? The gem system already represents that aspect, Bashiok claims. Gems have 4 properties, while the Mystic had 390 recipes. I don't know how that is an equilateral representation of the same mechanic, it makes no sense at all.

to answer your statement, yes the gems in D2 were lackluster, but that was only because of the Runes in D2:LOD. if you played just regular D2 for a long period of time gems were all you had and they were amazing. D3 seems like its going to be in the same boat! so not take a look at the D3 gems and count the number of effects vs what gems in D2 have, you'll see its almost half of those effects covered. Theres alot of gem effects from D2 i would like to make it into D3 life leech or or increased regen ect.ect. Not to mention there is only 4 color gems... Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, and Topaz currently. i like options, other people like options, i vote more damn options.

"Monsters will see an increase in health, damage, damage resistances and aggression in Inferno. "
Agression is not a major AI change. Read my post jack ass. Even if monster attacks you on sight (maximun possible agression level) D3 AI is far worse then BoT's one (my first statement).

The skill system sucks. I kno it because I kno how it works despite the fact I didn't tested it past level 13. The prove that it sucked is the fact they are reworking it despite the major delay.

man stop trolling the fourms who the hell are you trying too fool with the argument the AI sucks on inferno when non of use have even tryed it? Last time i checked blizzards capabilities at making AI's, wc3 and starcraft 2 DIDNT fail. The computers there have smart firing, micro, macro, controls on level and on par. Why would diablo 3 be any different in AI?

Your point trying to say aggression is not a change in AI is not true based on what we have seen in there more recent games if you ask me. Even world of warcraft. as a dps or healer if you over aggro the tank, your dead... I would see the same things applying here. Ranged mobs will run away from you or kite you, melee will hug the hell out of you, maybe even block your pathing, or how about slowing you and crippling you till the range wears you down? Point is we wont know till we play but based on the track record the AI wont be the problem, if anything they may ajust health possible or timers accordingly to help or hinder players.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Targeting System Video
This doesn't let skills go through walls...
Plus if one player can take advantage of it, all players can. At a high level of PvP then both players would be proficient at targeting and it would still be an even match.
The only person that has a valid point so far is Tekkiller's about trying to move through packs of mobs. If you have a big AOE bomb you want to unleash but you want to lasso a big pile of units together before doing so, it'll be difficult to move around just because clicking on ground you'll constantly be clicking on units that are 10 feet away.

i'm not saying the skill goes throught walls, i'm saying your moving away from there courser but your still technically targeted. Not to mention targeting single units even in PVP is going to be a pain if you want to focus down a squishy target but pull a beefy barb instead. Bottom line is the system they have can be reduced in size. it doesn't seem hard to do, idk i could be wrong but it would do justice. It's something that should be on the polished list.

If any of you have pvp'ed to some hard level you would know why this is a horrible issue. Let me make this clear, if your turning corner and the person your agenst lands a critical game breaking ancient spear(BARB) pulls and nukes you when his mouse clicker shouldnt of been able to register it YOUR GOING TO FEEL CHEATED!

    Quote from TheAdziK

D3 is not Counter-Strike... you don't have to aim for head to be good. It's hack'n'slash. Just throw your (more or less) random skills in (more or less) random direction and have fun :)

If the game becomes more serious in the future like some people hope its going to become, it better be on point or there is going to be ALOT of patches that we'll will have to sit thought....

First of all this is diablofans.com not blizzard.com and although I don't care about the companion your choices are childish so I didn't vote. Read your post again and say it while looking at the mirror. If you are a child then I apologize.

his post was poorly written yes, but your bashing makes you no better mom, or are you not his mother? Live by the golden rule treat others the way you want to be treated.

they shouldn't be silly things, like chickens, rabbits, and even kittens. They should be dogs or even a slightly bigger cats. animals that make sense.

better yet, we can have birds...but it better be a battle death ostrich or something, not this pritty pink flamingo b.s. we're seeing

    Quote from LordRayken
I would highly suggest you don't play Diablo 3 then. Because we've been told it's insanely similar and faithful to Diablo 2.

With that being said, this Cinematic ISN'T.

They have also said, multiple times, that they wanted to do a better job of telling the story in the game. Have you played or watched any of the better footage? You find out a lot about Leah and the town right away. They are letting you discover things as the player as opposed to just laying everything out before you meet everyone in the game.

This is how picky you are, I'll give you an example of what you'd be saying if the cinematic was exactly like Diablo 2:

"OMFG! So that cinematic happens and then what?! You spawn in a town and they don't tell you where it is?! How am I supposed to know who Gheed is? Who are these people in town? Why doesn't the cinematic tell me? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIGURE THESE THINGS OUT? Why don't I know what my initial mission is going to be? TERRIBLE CINEMATIC!"

    Introduction.

    No outside knowledge.

My knowledge of the game does not matter.

I am viewing the Introduction as STANDALONE. OH YEAH, BOUGHT DIABLO 3, HEARD THE HYPE, COOL, CANT WAIT TO PLAY!

    (NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE)

    *stares*

"Well okay. That was neat. But I have no idea what just happened or who the hell those people are or what the hell that cardboard stuff was. Okay. I guess I play as a Demons or something fighting Angels. Or whatever... Wait, what the hell? A Barbarian? ... I didn't see that... Whatever."

the intro for Diablo 2 was the same way.... whats worse is you dont even lay a hand on baal until a expansion later but we already meet him. so whats the difference?
