will the graphic effects of skills change with the level of the skill?

for example, mage hurls small meteors on level 1, but really huge ones in wast amounts on the max level?
will your summon on level 1 be looking weak but as you pump him up, will he turn into some ugly bloodthirsty beast on level 20?

will the overall look of the char change according to his level except for the equipment he is carrying? - some special glow, aura, stuff like that?

    Nice Suggestion =D

    1. Due to popular request, will you make Diablo III more gothic and scary? If yes, how? If no, please justify.

    2. Contrary to Diablo II, will gold be more valuable in Diablo III?

    3. Regarding the PVP system, will it be mutual-agreement dueling or will players be able to forcefully kill each other?

    4. Will you implement an achievement system for kill counts, player-kill counts, death counts, quest-completion counts and etcetera?

    5. Keith Lee hinted that the Witch-Doctor may replace the Necromancer, has Blizzard come to a decision yet and why?

    6. Regarding the map of Sanctuary, does Xiansai have anything related to the Asian culture?

    7. Will there be Game-Masters and a much more hack-protected community for Diablo 3?

    8. When is Blizzard planning to reveal more of the game through means such as another game-play video?

    9. Regarding the cinematic trailer, who is the girl and who is the demon with three mouths?

    10. Will there be a beta version of Diablo III in which the public can participate?

    Pvp is fun.
    Pking is fun.
    Getting pked is not.
    Revenge is fun.

It makes you want to train harder than the person who pk'd you. There will prolly be a blacklist in diablo where you can save the dudes name then devote your entire life into killing that bastard.

Diablo is a dark world. Pking fits perfectly into that.

There are assholes in every game. Lets take maplestory for example. Maplestory is so friendly that there isnt PKInG AT ALL!!!!

But then some asshole comes along and steals your kills for the entire day.

Assholes and hatred can be found in various forms in all games. If Pking is gone, that doesnt mean assholes will leave.

If pking is gone, it doesnt mean the game will be more cooperative.

    lol - useless ?
i could not remember beginer in the game - not having trouble with both of them.
it will be very unlikely to seen them removed in D3, aslong i wish - Diablo 3 to remain with really weighted skill system from Diablo 2 - version 1.10.

The beginning of the game, yes. Later on though, you didn't even need gold to start a new character, considering rushes. All pros in d2 do not use gold or energy at all. I am not saying you are a noob(I dont use that language), but the majority of players that know what they're doing do not use gold or energy.

(repairing an item and gambling are exceptions)
    (single player is an exception)

Well... They can reduce it so that you only lose the amount of gold you are carrying. That way you can store every gold piece in stash incase. If you are Pk'd in the middle of training (with plenty of gold) you can be easily screwed over!

    which is good =D

Gold should be reduced, both in the amount, as well as in the frequency at which they drop. In addition, items sold to shops should give you modest amounts of gold instead of the thousands we saw back in D2. Make it as rare and hard to come by a drop as gems or runes, and it'll be valued much more.

Great suggestion, this will make gold worthy and manageable. They already did something very nice to gold, being able to loot gold just by walking over it. This saves the hassel of looting every individual gold pile.

Now that I think about it, the reason why Money is so useful in the world is because can trade it for anything. The reason why Gold failed in Diablo 2 was because it was so easily gained and easily lost (travincal runs vs dying+toll)

What made Mesos(gold) worth so much in Maplestory was because the marketing system was all based on Mesos. You can set up a vendor and list the items you have for sale and the required Mesos.

    For example:
    SoJ for 99 Gold
(I am only using maplestory and mesos as an analogy as they have a very well done economy)

holy shit. i read to last paragraph and i kinda got the point.

anyway. HERES A QUESTION. Why did "Max Schaefer left Blizzard and formed Flagship Studios. He was one of the original creators of D2.".happen? like why'd he leave? What is the guy trying to say and what does that have to do with him leaving blizzard?

A stable economy in a system of 8 player game rooms made by the dozens every few minutes is a pipe dream.

Yes on Energy affecting magic damage. The stats needed to be more useful.

Strength also needs to be redone so it's not just pumped to equip gear.

Who confirmed 8 player game rooms? Even if it was 8 players, what does the room size have to do with the economy? They can make WoW have 8 player game rooms and gold would still be the currency. (mentioning WoW as an analogy, don't get all 'anti-wow' on me)

All I am saying, instead of trading SoJs and High-runes and PGEMS around for Pcombs and shakos, why not make gold the currency? This has worked in the real world, money makes the world go around.

Gold should be able to replace trading high-runes around, that way diablo 3 will have a stable economy. I want energy to increase the magic damage of mages, that would own.

posted a message on Frustrated at Diablo 3 Skills
Don't flame me for this but I am just mentioning it. Maplestory has different Skill Level Caps too.

    For example
    Energy Bolt - 20
    Heal - 30
    Max Mp - 10

I guess D2 can make the cap a multiplier of 5 like 5/15/20, WHICH IS TOTALLY COOL =D. I'm sure a lot of other rpgs had this skill system.

Ok ppl. Now dont say things like "Maplestory is for noobs"... LOL

Why in the hell did they just stand there and watch those virgins die? Why didn't he cleave some skulls open before the hideous thing came into being?

    WHY?!?

    Cheers,
    SmashBoy (like HellBoy, 'cept not)

I agree with most of SmashBoy's reasoning and responses. That virgin shit was hella' funny though, the guy who said virgins didn't exist in Sanctuary. lmao.

Okay, what I wanna say is that... before the bridge was broken in half in front of the barbarian during the game-play trailer (where he had to leap over in the scripted scene)

he stopped moving. (some may argue that he didnt wanna get hit by a falling rock, but read on)

It looks as if your character loses control in every scripted scene. As SmashBoy mentioned, the barbarian froze in front of the summoning ritual scene as if the player lost control.

I agree that it would be nice if the character reacted to the scripted scene. As long as the character reacts "Wait, I sense danger!" and falls back abruptly before the boulders came down, then that would be reasonable.

If you lost your control and the barbarian ran behind a pillar and then hid and peeked at the summoning, THAT WOULD HAVE MADE THE SCENE A LOT MORE REASONABLE.

The siege bringer boss was perfect though.

Stop saying "it was just a 20 minute demo" or "dont critique before you play it" or "give it a year"

Yes that was a demo, and the demo is like a rough draft that a student hands in. We as the consumers (teachers in this analogy) are SUPPOSED to edit and suggest change before the final release (final copy in this analogy)

SmashBoy gave an excellent reply about making changes before its too late, just like the art-direction petition... Before mephisto comes in your face and says "YOU'RE TOO LATE AHHAHAHHA"

    Good thread.

posted a message on Light Radius
There is light radius. Just very little. I am proud to say that I have map-hacked in D2 because of the horrible light radius (and for efficiency). Who knows? Maybe the game-play trailer had characters with max light radius because of rigged items.
