Dear Blizzard,
In Blizzcon, I would like to see a major update on Diablo 3. Preferably two new classes, updates on the new battle net, and new features. I would also like to see more updates on the items and give us some information about pvp and quests. I would also like to know if Diablo comes back, and WHY!?
PS: I hope this contest is absolutely random and the outcome isnt determined by the quality or quantity of post.

Sep 10, 2008sammyly02 posted a message on Skovos not accessible in Diablo IIIPosted in: NewsQuote from "Medievaldragon" »Bashiok confirmed the piece of artwork shown in the latest media update is indeed Skovos Isle, but it won't be a place we will visit in Diablo 3. From the looks of it, probably the expansion? Skovos is the homeland of the Amazon class in Diablo II.
As we know, the only returning playable class is the Barbarian. However, Jay Wilson recently suggested some classes could return in the Diablo 3 expansion pack.

I agree.
Oh I mean about you. Not him,
there are no preorders available, the damn game is BEING DEVELOPED. We wont see D3 for another 2 years more than likely.
You got called out on a lie, you fail, get over it.
Actually there are pre-order sites that are known to be quite trustworthy. People will pre-order the game, it's believable. Even though the game is in development, what the company usually does is push the release date back. However whether he is lying or not, is something we can only assume. -
Jul 9, 2008sammyly02 posted a message on Official BlizzCast 5 Q&A SubmissionsPosted in: NewsQuote from "Booda" »First of all, the change is probably due to the more action-oriented gameplay. Exaggerated physical features have more impact and better express what is going on in the game. Gothic art styles are very moody, but the darkness obscures the action. This isn't Resident Evil, where you try to run and hide from zombies. This is Diablo.
Second of all, give the art direction a rest. There is a strong opposition to the art style. End of discussion. All the petitions and campaigns are too much. Just leave your feedback and move on.
There is no weight in your argument. There is no correlation between vibrant colors and action-oriented game-play. Exaggerated shoulder-pads do not have more impact and do not express what is going on in the game at all. Diablo 2 was very gothic and dark, but the darkness did not obscure the action. I can go on and on and break down your arguments but I'll end it by saying that you are stupid. There is no weight in your arguments at all. -
Jul 9, 2008sammyly02 posted a message on Official BlizzCast 5 Q&A SubmissionsPosted in: NewsQuote from "ov3erlord" »will the graphic effects of skills change with the level of the skill?
for example, mage hurls small meteors on level 1, but really huge ones in wast amounts on the max level?
will your summon on level 1 be looking weak but as you pump him up, will he turn into some ugly bloodthirsty beast on level 20?
will the overall look of the char change according to his level except for the equipment he is carrying? - some special glow, aura, stuff like that?
Nice Suggestion =D -
Jul 9, 2008sammyly02 posted a message on Official BlizzCast 5 Q&A Submissions1. Due to popular request, will you make Diablo III more gothic and scary? If yes, how? If no, please justify.Posted in: News
2. Contrary to Diablo II, will gold be more valuable in Diablo III?
3. Regarding the PVP system, will it be mutual-agreement dueling or will players be able to forcefully kill each other?
4. Will you implement an achievement system for kill counts, player-kill counts, death counts, quest-completion counts and etcetera?
5. Keith Lee hinted that the Witch-Doctor may replace the Necromancer, has Blizzard come to a decision yet and why?
6. Regarding the map of Sanctuary, does Xiansai have anything related to the Asian culture?
7. Will there be Game-Masters and a much more hack-protected community for Diablo 3?
8. When is Blizzard planning to reveal more of the game through means such as another game-play video?
9. Regarding the cinematic trailer, who is the girl and who is the demon with three mouths?
10. Will there be a beta version of Diablo III in which the public can participate? - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Hardcore is for Pros,
Softcore is for Noobs AND Pros
If you put a noob in hardcore, he will either run back to softcore or transform into a pro. As arrogant as I may sound, this is the truth, thats why it's called hardcore. By playing hardcore, I mean being able to do everything efficiently and be able to solo Baal in Hell mode. A noob cannot do this.

Thanks Corwyn, those were the screen-shots I was looking for. From looking at the before and after photos, looks to me like they've added more shadows, textures and details into the models and terrain and the overall edges appear to be sharper and cleaner.

Lmao. Lag does play a factor, but there is a lot more than that. You obviously never made it past normal mode.

Every time theres an argument going on about the artistic direction of Diablo 3, some random guy always comes out and says:
"Don't worry, Blizzard will change the graphics, just look at the before and after screenshots of SC2. The fans complained and they made it a lot better."
I believe you, but can someone post links to these screen-shots? I've searched and could not find.

I have a feeling SC2 is coming out this Christmas.
As for D3, I think it'll be out in 2009 Summer.

EDIT: Alright here it is:
MY VIEW: I don't think he should be stating this on the WoW forums. After all this site is dedicated to D3, the WoW forums is obviously dedicated to WoW material. I am not an anti-WoW, but I think that it's disrespectful.
MY VIEW: There are no meaningful gameplay reasons. The whole point of the game is to have fun. I am sure the person who isn't having "fun" getting PK'ed will eventually have his own "fun" by PK'ing others. Diablo is first and foremost an evil game and we should be able to express our evilness and sinful nature by killing others. As you become more skilled and advanced, you will learn how to avoid being PK'd, which I will explain in my next point.
MY VIEW: You definitely remembered wrong. In Diablo 2, you have to be in town in order to hostile somebody. When you do hostile someone, all your town-portals disappear. You also need to know the exact location of the enemy and you have 3 seconds before you can enter a way-point. You can't just "Bam" someone where-ever and whenever you want to! You were obviously not being specific as to exceptions like TP-PK'ing which you guys can fix indirectly by simply fixing your hack-prevention system.
MY VIEW: As I said in one of my previous posts, everything in life CAN BE CONSIDERED a waste of time, its up to perspective. I know people who dedicate their Diablo 2 gaming time in PK'ing and killing people in hardcore for their pleasure.
MY VIEW: According to my knowledge of the game, the only extremely nice items you lose when you get PK'ed is your gold and your ear. (You don't even lose EXP for god's sake!)
MY VIEW: The only thing that frustrated me was the hackers that use aim-bots and TP-PK hacks or other PK-aiding third-party-programs. Legit PK'ing does not frustrate me. I say you should encourage legit Pk'ing as it is a form of sport and skill.
Suggestion: To make PK'ing a more organized sport, you can add bounty bonuses if you kill someone who is very dangerous. The more people you PK, the more dangerous you should be ranked. In order to prevent cheating, you can only get more dangerous by killing different enemies, so you can't pick on the same dude over and over again.
MY VIEW: Not everyone likes to cooperate. Sure you can focus on the cooperative part of the game, but don't break down the competitive part of it. There is no direct impact or improvement on cooperative play by removing the PK system.
MY VIEW: I think you should be more specific. So you are saying PK'ing is gone, but PVP is staying?
-> These are some facts (well not facts, but opinions) to back-up why I judged Bashiok the way I did in my earlier two posts.
