Old gear, except few items and OP old items, is crap to play with on T2-T6. I gave all my surplus gear to new players so that they can have fun. What good is of 1B gold if you cannot buy stuff for it. Only good thing is having gold for crafting, and I think 10M is good for that, rest I will collect during the game :)Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Oh, and one more thing. New gear is superb with one small setback (not that I mind)... all items I find with wizard have Intelligence and Vitality bonuses. So, hard to find decent sword for, let's say Barbarian, who I'm going to play later Only character I can save gear for is WD.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories

I use Wave of Force - Impactful wave to bounce enemies when surrounded. Helps a bit, but don't know your build and if you have place for that.Quote from Kelo
However, act 4 is a bit different. First time I played this act, my life dropped to half when fighting some mobs, not very fast but enough to push the panic button (teleport):D
By the way, I am having a hard time finding some good armor, almost every legendary I got is a weapon :(. Yesterday, I switched to witch doctor to see if I can find some zuni boots or chest.

@ot4ku - nice dps and toughness.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
Love the new patch, love the yellows and their useability and as I previously stated, forget the old gear, get new by playing from scratch. I have SC wizard with 300k DPS buffed and it's almost crap now since my toughness is measly 400K buffed with old gear, and now i don't have blood magic rune. Have hard time parting with that gear since I invested lots of hours playing, farming and trading to get it. Now my old wiz with 500 hours behind her went to retirement. So I decided to go HC all the way (played it only once, got to level 34 on NM and died because of stupid bug in game), had no old gear in stash an virtually no gold, so perfect place to start anew

I have 830K buffed toughness now. At that time I had around 600K at it was going easy. Damage you take is different now, lower than you would think. I play now at Master difficulty and have around 110k HP, 1K LoH in around 3.6K healing, gems I use in armor are all diamonds since there is no point in buffing intelligence because items push it high enough. After level 60 I switched to Arcane Orb last rune for great AOE damage, but it goes little slower since I haven't been able to find decent APoC gear yet and cannot spam orbs yet. Plan is to finish difficulties one-be-one and see how they go and prep for RoS and level 70Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories

Just wanted to say this. Forget your old characters and start anew. Skills have changed, builds have changed and gear has improved. Playing new wiz from scratch and having a blast with it. Main point is forget about old gear and everything it stands for, all of it is crap now (people still sell that crap for hundreds of millions on AH). My wiz on level 50 has 65k health, 2K int and 1.8k vitality (softcore wiz I played had 45k HP 2.7k int and 1.8k vitality - gear worth 200M with 310k DPS for archon build). My only suggestion is to buy some square red gems on AH for your HC character (for socket in weapon) and you're ready to do some serious playing (you only need like 50k gold saved from old HC character). Skills I use are following:Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
Primary - Electrocute - Surge of power
Secondary - Disintegrate - Volatility
Wave of Force - Impactful wave, Frost Nova - Cold Snap, Storm Armor - Power of Storm, Magic Weapon - Force Weapon
Passives - Glass Canon, Prodigy, Astral Presence
Point is, with new gear and this set of skills you never run out of AP, feels almost like archon build. Wave of Force and Frost nova keep you out of trouble when champion packs come. Just go with the flow and try out new gear and possibilities
P.S. power leveling is for dummies, do not do that with this patch, you need to play anew and feel the difference.

Key is the RNG and luck. I've played over 500 hours with my wiz (with other chraracters it sums to 700 gameplay hours) and have found about 150 legendaries. 95% out of that was crap, not one uber item at all (not legendary nor rare). I play mostly on MP 2 ACT 3 with 47 paragon lvl and abut 200 MF unbuffed and I play two longer runs a day (1 hour/day). Interesting thing is that most of the drops were from normal monsters, and only a dozen were dropped from champions or packs, not one legendary drop from boss. You do the mathPosted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Two things I would like to see in D3, and those are:Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Better crafting: Let us craft LVL 63 items, give us plans for those. With high prices on crafting it would be nice gold sink, and give us nice options (think others suggested this also).
Item Enhancement system: For X gold and crafting resources you can enhance one random item property (up to the max stat value with smaller steps, like 2-5% on all resist, or 1% attack speed) or ad one more property if item has them less then 6 (LVL 60+ items only). Also DMG enhancement with prices relative to max DMG (chep to move from 100 to 200, but very expensive to move from 1.2k to 1.3K).
Edited: Oh yeah, why can't they make item comparison on AH so that I know what will change if I buy that item. As thing are now, I'm purchasing on instinct and finish with 0.1% upgrade for several million because I miscalculated all variables. It works on items shown by other players on chat, why doesn't it work in AH?

I got one nice legendary (don't remember it now) from a normal chest act3 MP0. It happens, but rarely since there are more monsters then chests or barrels :). Most of my legendaries dropped from normal monsters, so you go figure!Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
