Key is the RNG and luck. I've played over 500 hours with my wiz (with other chraracters it sums to 700 gameplay hours) and have found about 150 legendaries. 95% out of that was crap, not one uber item at all (not legendary nor rare). I play mostly on MP 2 ACT 3 with 47 paragon lvl and abut 200 MF unbuffed and I play two longer runs a day (1 hour/day). Interesting thing is that most of the drops were from normal monsters, and only a dozen were dropped from champions or packs, not one legendary drop from boss. Two things I would like to see in D3, and those are:Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Better crafting: Let us craft LVL 63 items, give us plans for those. With high prices on crafting it would be nice gold sink, and give us nice options (think others suggested this also).
Item Enhancement system: For X gold and crafting resources you can enhance one random item property (up to the max stat value with smaller steps, like 2-5% on all resist, or 1% attack speed) or ad one more property if item has them less then 6 (LVL 60+ items only). Also DMG enhancement with prices relative to max DMG (chep to move from 100 to 200, but very expensive to move from 1.2k to 1.3K).
Edited: Oh yeah, why can't they make item comparison on AH so that I know what will change if I buy that item. As thing are now, I'm purchasing on instinct and finish with 0.1% upgrade for several million because I miscalculated all variables. It works on items shown by other players on chat, why doesn't it work in AH?

I got one nice legendary (don't remember it now) from a normal chest act3 MP0. It happens, but rarely since there are more monsters then chests or barrels :). Most of my legendaries dropped from normal monsters, so you go figure!Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from BagstoneIt's so ridiculous when people with paragon 70+, perfect gear, capped MF, and infinite time complain about "too many legendaries". You got this gear, MF, and paragon level in order to get all these drops in the first place. Please note that the "doubled" drop rate for casual players means: they will get 2 instead of 1 legendary per week. With casual I mean 50k dps, 100-150 MF incl. 5NV, and MP1-3. If you're farming MP8 with 300k dps and 600MF, you're not only 5 times faster in killing mobs, you also have an about 4 times higher chance of drops. In 10 hours of daily playing you'll find about 20 times more legendaries than a casual player who has 10 hours playtime per week.
Please remember this when you "complain" about having found 20 legendaries and grant the casuals their 1-2 drops per week. Thanks.
I totally agree with this. Saying that drop rates are too high because someone like ones described in comment by Bagstone get too much legendaries is just like when someone with 500k DPS DH and uber gear says that game on highest MP is too easy.

I've played for 2 hours, act 3, 0 MP, MF about 270 with the 5 stacks included. Got one Legendary. Considering that I like slow farming, this is OK and before 1.0.5 it took sometimes a week of 2h/day farming to see anything other than yellow. Think I'll try to increase elites/hour kills to see how it goes.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

+6% lightning damage - means + to base DMG, not directly to DPS - so 1000 DMG weapon gets 60 DMG bonus before INT buffPosted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
+6% to lightning damage - means + 6% to lightning DMG - so if you deal 500 lightning DMG it would add 30 DMG before INT buff, but if you use electrical dmg spell, it adds 6% to that skill dmg (if skill says 350% of weapon dmg as electrical, that sum gets another boost of 6%)
That's my opinion

C'mon people. Even if there is 30.000 people who find it easy to do the inferno, and from that number some are uber geared, that is only 0.5% of the people who bought D3 from pre-order (6m if I'm not mistaking). With this patch there is chance that more people will be able to finish inferno and/or farm more efficiently, thus enjoy the game more. So this couple haters would like to say that game is to easy just because few geeks killed something on ML 10 in 5 min. Get a life. I can afford to play D3 for hour or two on work days, and extra hours on the weekends (I have a job and friends with whom I socialize offline) . At current state I would need months to gear for each act, not like the kids (and/or people who have lots of free time) who play 10 hours/day.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Loot is ok. Advanced gamers aside, which play insane amounts of hours cannot judge this because they already have best gear and only do farming. Only thing about the loot I would like to see changed (this is only my opinion, feel free to disagree) is affix range adjustment. There is nothing worse than item lvl 63 which has randomly generated 20 AR. Since affixes are random there are millions of combination possible, and upping the minimum affix stats shouldn't brake the game. For instance set the minimum AR affix stat value to 40 or 45 on items lvl 63 (let's be honest, all below 50 AR on lvl 63 item is almost crap) and the max stat value stays the same. This way you can still get tons of crap (excellent AR, without primary stats or other useful affixes) but the ones that have desired affixes, have better chance of being good.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

I'm currently sitting on 40 mil which I plan to use for upgrades. Farming act 1 has no impact on earning (or upgrading) since ilvl 62 and ilvl 63 drops are scarce. I think on buying rings with CTC and CD since they are about 5M a piece (without the high INT or VIT upgrades) and upgrade INT on other items. Ring upgrades could give me 7-8% CTC and 50-70% CD upgrade for that price. Weapon upgrade without socket on decent price could bump me another 70% CD, but they are hard to find these days since I'm looking for a wand. Been calculating a bit and came to conclusion that upgrades could take about 100-200 Mil to make an effective char.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
