I found this and it was the description of what happens right before Diablo 1 starts and the site says it was in a book or series.

This could mean that shattering the soulstones didn't kill Mephisto and Diablo permanently, instead perhaps Tyrael told you to destroy them so Diablo and Mephisto would come back to Sanctuary (the human's plane) instead of back to Hell and Tyrael as an Arch-Angel is working for Heaven and this would weaken Hell making it a good time for Heaven to attack?

1.Demon in the Video - This would also mean that Diablo and his brothers could make a come back in Diablo 3 with out much fuss, since they didn't actually perma-die like some people are assuming. So the video could have definetly (I think it did) shown Diablo.

2.Tyraels corruption - If Tyrael did send the brothers back to Sanctuary perhaps he feels evil because sending them back will cause alot of death and destruction. (I also think that breaking the World Stone and freeing the ''corruption'' of the world would also have done it, but this seems to be a popular idea too)

3.The Meteor - This goes inline with Tyrael's ''corruption" - Perhaps Heaven didn't want him to break the World Stone which if it works like Soulstones contains demons and spirits, which would release them. Perhaps Heaven was so mad with Tyrael that he is now ''fallen'' (for lack of a better word) from Heaven and he was the meteor and Heaven wants him to destroy anything Diablo could have left underneath Tristram to summon himself back?

In the end I believe Diablo will definetly be in Diablo 3, not sure about the idea of the Three merged together but I think it would be stupid if they did. And perhaps Tyrael isn't corrupted and he just looks like a badass.

That demon thing looked like Diablo imo, and its His game so I'm going to keep calling it Diablo.

Back on track. I think it looks like Diablo merged with Bahamut (i forget which game but it was either a newer one or the movie)

Hi, new here but imo people get excited over Diablo 3 because Diablo 2, not because they want a whole new game but because they have enjoyed the past Diablo games. If they make this a D2 version of WoW then this game will definetly not be as much fun to me because I come to expect a certain theme and playstyle from Diablo that does not include WoW.

I say bring back D2 style inventory. I'd rather bitch about inventory size and see the awesome graphics that Diablo 2 had than look at tiny little pictures.
