We killed Diablo and destroyed his Soulstone so that he couldn't return (atleast, that's what we think happens). It gave as much point to kill Diablo as it did to kill Mephisto, which is .. suffice to say.. pretty important.

Yes it is, it was said numerous times at the WWI, I think during the Gameplay Trailer too. Look up some of the live stuff, and you'll hear it.

I'm sure she'll be back too.

She's pretty much the only character from Tristram (except Cain ofcourse) who's believed to still be alive, and survived the onslaught.

As far as I know, we weren't given any story about the 3 "main characters" in Diablo 1. They were simply some of those many adventurers that headed into the cathedral.

Yes, the warrior is the canon hero (easily seen in the cinematics of D2), as both the Rogue and the Sorceror are "bosses" in Diablo 2.

Well, the name is undoubtly the same, correct. "Bartuc the Bloody" (D2X) and "Bartuc, Warlord of Blood" (the book).

I doubt it, although it's a bit curious. I can't seem to remember what happened to the "original" Bartuc, but Baal could very likely have resurrected him, somehow. Either that, or it's a coincidence in the same way as Hakkar in the Warcraft Universe (being both Hakkar, the Houndmaster - in the Burning Legion, and Hakkar, the Soulflayer - troll god).

I have this theory that the majority of the people who've posted here have said either of the 3 following things, without backing them up at all, besides the "I think that":

Cain's apprentice, (grand-)daughter or *shudder* lover-thing.

The theory I'll keep on believing is that the girl (who's most likely this "Leah") is Adria's daughter. Why? She seemingly has the age for it, seemed schooled in the arts of a witch, and Adria - besides Cain - were probably the only survivors of Tristram after our hero re-emerged from the Cathedral. She's likely Cain's apprentice too, or she's just working with him, or met him when he returned to New Tristram.

Again; more thought-through theories please.
