Maybe in a Diablo MMO. Currently the diablo series is fast paced demon slaying, who has time to write letters when there are demons to kill.
There is no glory in watching the grass grow not when there is so much evil to be fought.
I believe what the OP is referring to is the ability to mail items (like in WoW) to other players/characters. There is a small charge for mailing, but it works in well.
However, in Diablo, I guess I'm on the fence on this one. It would be good, find a cool barbarian item with my Witchdoctor & mail it to him. Instead of muling it to him.
I guess we'll see what Blizzard has planned (if anything).
In the Mtv video interview, he implies(or you could deduce) that they have more working playable character classes than would be released with the game. Suggesting that they would cut some in favor of balance.
Without a doubt- I think they are going to be throwing a bunch of cool surprises at us.
Blizzard has already stated they are NOT replacing the Necromancer with the Witchdoctor.
Watch the videos & you'll see they seem to indicate we'll see the Necro again- probably in the Expansion.

I don't see why people still argue about the necro, it is simple, due to the fact that the WD has similar skill and only 5 characters will be introduced it is safe to say that there wont be a necro in DIII. The reson why you see necromancers mentioned in the game is that they are a big part of the lore, though you will not be able to play the necromancer this does not mean you will not see one as an NPC.
On a matter of personal opinion, I am very dissapointed in the introduction of the WD to replace the Necro.

Okay. I'm guessing you don't understand basic economics. That's fine, part of the learning curve of life.
Why did they make Diablo, Diablo 2, and now- Diablo 3? Once you figure out the real answer, then you'll realize that there will be an expansion.
