Hey, Just curious if this is still up and running. I've been playing LOD for a long time now, but am just recently getting back into it. Ive waited for a guild worth joining for a long time, and I expect this will be stable even into diablo3 (hopefully) Im on USWEST ladder and non... I check this site like every day for news updates etc. I look forward to playing with u guys!
Okay, so I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet, but the new rune is a Viking Symbol. This particular rune could be a Vegvisir(compass) as shown here:
However, this particular Nordic symbol looks most like the Aegishjalmur Charm, which protected vikings in battle. Here is the symbol, which matches the rune 100%
So, likely, each rune represents a past game which blizzard has designed.
Day1: WoW
Day2: Diablo
Day3: Starcraft
Day4: Pax Imperia
Day5: Lost Vikings
Day6: New game???
This really rules out the Hydra Project.
Another thing.. if u look next to the WoW Diablo and SC runes, I see what looks like a bomb next to those runes only. This may have some significance.
I do not take credit for all these ideas, there was a discussion on IRC last night, and we all contributed

I changed this area to negative and darkened it, to reveal what looks like the edge of a smile perhaps (matching the wanderer's face on the box):
Moreover, I noticed the pattern of the "smoky air" here... It seems similar to two streams of hot air, likely caused by breath as in real life when it is cold. Based on where they are originating, it seems to be Diablo's face:
