posted a message on Blizzard doesn't want our feedback
Do you understand that Blizzard doesn't even consider taking your feedback ?

In the beta, you can't even test the goddamn rune system, the most important part of game. You also can't go past level 6-7. You can't test the Real-Money AH because nobody will buy beta items and if they use fake money then you don't test the economy for real. So you can be sure that whatever system they go with, it's gonna be post-release.

So is this new ? It seems Blizzard didn't go the "PUSH DOWN YOUR THROAT" style as much as this before. And with all the changes so late, it almost feel like the game changed direction.

    Did something happen ?
I'm really lost. I just don't feel like I respect Blizzard philosophy as much as I did yesterday. You know "Make the best games for the players, players are first!". For example : "We won't support PVP because we don't want Diablo 3 to be an esport."???? Before they would have said "If that's what the players want, we will give them!"

What happened? Their investors are angry? They got a speech? Someone died? Just, wtf.

No it doesn't make you think more about your combination, it makes you think less.
It also removes builds, it doesn't make more.

With skill points you can choose your skill and then BALANCE your points between them. More points into this, less points into that.
Meaning someone with the same exact skills and runes could have a completely different build because the points would be distributed in another fashion.

Now removing stats points makes sense because there is only one good way to put your points, with skills it's not the case.

Damn I hate how now it seems it's all about "less is more"

This really not true from a min/maxing point of view.

Wtf, yes it is. Not all skills are damage skills and not all skills are single-target. It's an action-rpg so play-style can affect your point distribution. You are applying a concept that works more with slow-paced games where hitting is determined by a stats. In D3, it's determined by your mouse, and the way your missiles/skills move.

Now min-maxing happens at skill level, not point level. It's even worse.

Because instead of picking 7 skills, you now have to pick 6 - thus thinking more about your skill choice combination.

Choice without dire ramifications is still choice. That you got punished for making the wrong choice in earlier games, doesn't mean you don't have one now.

And I haven't played beta, so I don't know which skills are better than others. Please elaborate.

Exactly, it fixes nothing. Before the low tier skills were used at low level. Now they won't be used at all.

    Great frikkin solution!!

No skill points also makes leveling feel less important, something they said was important. Seems like they forgot it.

    Good job Blizzard.

posted a message on Level 60 cap and experience gain rate
    Quote from Ghost_Sanguis

As stated numerous times, level 60 is the new level 99, not a restriction to keep you from getting as strong as characters in Diablo 2 with a level 99 cap. It will take longer to level at a earlier time, but each level will actually have a noticeable difference. You'll probably experience about the same amount of time wasted to get to 60 as you did 99, perhaps a bit more since this game is suppose to be harder than the previous, so I've heard.

It was stated you get to level 60 at the end of hell, without grinding.

posted a message on REAL leaks here!
You forgot the most important points :

    • “Real Money” Auction House. You can sell and buy Items for Real Money. You have to pay fee to Blizzard for it. You can also use an Ingame-Gold Acution House.
    • Blizzard will not sell Gold or Items. It is just Player to Player Trading.
    • The Auction House has an amazing search system it sorts the items by the best stats for your character.

"The Auction House has an amazing search system it sorts the items by the best stats for your character."
What the hell, it chooses what's best for you or what ? That's ridiculous.

    Quote from Norgazil_3026953

Did they ever stated a reason why it's 60?
(in term of the actual number)

What makes 60 better than 75 as example.

    I don't really dig the Normal 30, Nightmare 20, Hell 10 = 60 thing.
First because it does not match DII in playing pace nor level pace and playing time(story mode).

P.S. I think a few days (2-3 h per day) of grinding to hit cap after story would be fine.

    My theory :

They want to have the max level increases with expansions like WoW.
So 60, 80 first expansion then 100 second expansion.

posted a message on item Binding
    Quote from mordredp

Yeah, we realized that binding is kind of a crappy way to pull items out of the economy. If you say that the average player produces 100 items an hour and maybe gets 1 upgrade in that time, then binding at best can account for removing 1% of items from the economy. And that's being very generous at high levels.
Binding isn't really substantial in making a viable economy, but it is really good at establishing item prestige. Which is how it's used in WoW.
We expect salvaging to be compelling enough to remove a good percentage of the most valuable items from the economy. High end components obtained from salvaging high end items are needed for high end crafting and enhancement.
We're not promising anything on patch content, but we also feel that keeping up on introducing new items consistently will keep it from being possible for a glut of the best items from building as 'the best' can be a constantly moving target.

I’m happy to announce that we recently decided there will be no binding of items in Diablo III. They will be freely traded for the life of the item. The only way we are going to do any kind of binding would be for things that are not progression-sensitive. Like we might say…a quest item. We don’t want you to be able to give to other player to short circuit a quest, but if you find a sword, piece of armor, or gem....anything that you find in the ground, once you pick it up, you can freely trade it... forever.

this is Bashiok, I don't know how to bluequote :P

Exactly, this the definition on "change", meaning, it "changed". It was not in the game and now it might be in the game. Thank you.

We expect salvaging to be compelling enough
Is important, what if it wasn't compelling enough.

I think something that is very controversial and makes sense is item binding.

And I think it's gonna be in the game.

Flux and MedievalDragon both mentioned a lot of changes are gonna be controversial.

I wouldn't mind much, BoP would kinda be required to avoid "4x more drops if you play with friends because they give me all the items they find"

After testing, they may have seen BoE was required as an additionnal item sink.

You better wrap your head around just in case to not have a massive shock.

posted a message on Diablo 2 Beta Ended at Blood Raven
    Quote from Sharma

Considering someone beat the beta build (which the leaked screenshot informs us of) at least once in the allotted time of three to four hours, I'm almost certain the beta will be of similar length to D2's. However, a short beta indicates lots of potential players.

And the screenshot is proven to be false. >>>>> SOURCE <<<<<
