I've played, and hate, God of War. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone that asked about it.

There are better action games without attempting to be OMFG EPICXNESS which seems to be invading everything. You can't just be a normal hero who saves the day anymore, that wouldn't sell or something.

D1 and D2 sounded pretty epic to me...

One hero taking on the devil himself..

But if it's unknown and they make up how everything works it's going to look unrealistic and stupid. If they want for the players to really get into the game they have to make sure the basic rules of logic apply.

It should bleed but not spray like in the trailer like a clouds of red mist.

Please stop about diablo 3 and realism.

I'm happy that GoW is inspiring the action and combat. GoW has some of the best combat i've ever seen. Absolutely visceral and immense!

I think I'll go crazy soon. I mean whe're gettin' high on new info when it's like nothing. Stuff like "Will Imperius be on diablo 3". recently i was reading a thread about the expression "what in the hells is that" and suddenly people start to debate if there will be 2 or more hells i diablo 3. Time to slow down our excitement and start to do something else. i mean anything IMPORTANT would i gladly accept. Maybe blizzard should have kept te secret of diablo 3 a little while longer so we shouldn't be in this boring situation. But without diablofans i think i should already be dead. So thank you guys for keepin' me alive in this hard time

I agree. I wish Blizzard hadn't announced D3 back at the WWI. It would of saved us this agony.

I never used the necro skill that made enemies flee, but it looks kind of like with Diablo 3 that it might come in handy. With hopefully harder enemies and without potion spamming, it looks like you're going to have to be more creative and cooperative this time around. Horrify may come in handy during the harder levels (assuming that it will work in higher level enemies).

Yeah. I can see horrify being used as an uber team skill. Horrify all the mobs, let the mage/ranged class pick em all off without even getting a scratch.

    Not bad...

in the gameplay demo it just made the witch doctor seem really weak that he had to make his enemies run away... and has anyone ever though about demons running away................. shouldnt they be scarred of nothing... wtf is that crap

anyways witch doctor seems pretty lame imo.... very wowish, and not really that interesting at all...

well maybe lesser demons run away from more powerful demons.

But back to my original question...

Do you guys think this skill will be useful? Was terror useful in Diablo 2? I know blizzard has a plan for this but I have a hard time seeing how it will work.

Perhaps if D3 will be REALLY difficult and death is at every corner, then yea, horrify would be good for regrouping and holding off hordes of enemies while ur ranged units pick em off. But, like i said, the game has to be hard and monsters have to be ferociously deadly.

The merc is d2 lod added nothing but fun and companionship. Every hero needs a sidekick.

There is no reason to leave out the merc--they were fun and an enjoyable gameplay element.

Well in that case they shouldn't be very powerfull but maybe give u some kind help in other ways.

They should be sort of fragile and not deal much damage.. but they would stay behind u pretty much. They could have some sort of spells that have some kind of crowd control frost nova or a bow user would have freezing arrow.. etc

Someone posted in the other thread that his merc could solo hell ancients without him doing anything.. anything like this should be out of D3.

No man. They should be sidekicks. A barb merc should still kick some ass but not as much as you.

A bow based merc should be able to pick off enemies and damage bosses.

I also think that the merc system should have attack and defend features. Aggressive, defensive, etc.

Lol NO MERCS. Why? Why should we need them? Make the characters powerfull enough so we don't need no god damn AI npc with us. It so ridiculous now that u have a damn paladin with u even if u solo, giving u almost any type of aura. Make the game in a way like before LOD that every build and class can handle every situation depending on the player not some AI. If the player sucks and can't deal with some monsters then too bad. But everyone has a chance to success at least even without a merc.

Someone suggested they should be even more powerfull using full sets etc .. you prolly wanna put some commands to him too? And a way to follow him.. so first you command him to clear this dungeon then u put follow on him and then go afk.. gg.

There could be these mercs that you can't resurrect or equip tho related to quest or temporary help.

We don't NEED them. They're just fun.

    Lighten up.

A skill maxed at 5/5 would not equal 20/20. It would equal 5/20 or whatever they would decide. They can decrease the amount of skill points you get, and they will deprive you of improving certain skills to a certain point. Imagine bone spear maxed at 5 instead of 20. This would destroy bonemancers. That's sort of what they are doing.

uhh well it depends on how blizzard gives the skill value. And we don't know that. But I'm guessing a max 5/5 skill is at the same level as a 20/20 skill. Maybe the 5/5 skill is an ultimate and levels at 1/4 the rate.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, i'm sure it has been at least mentioned somewhere. However, what bugs me about the skills in diablo 3, is that its not 0/20 across the board like in D2, there are 0/5 0/10 0/20 Skills, similar to the WoW talent trees.

Yes i know it puts me in the category of "zomg too much like WoW" but really its just my preference. One thing i loved about D2 was the ability to pump skills up to rediculous amounts. Another fear is that they may do away with + to skills, so we won't see 30/20 or 10/5 type skills...

Anyone else have a similar or opposite opinnion, i'd like to hear it.

    -Dart

    100/20 = 5

    100/5 = 10

Either way, they all make up 100 somehow. My point is, the potential of each skill seems to be the same, it's just that the frequency of leveling is different. But it's still proportional.

    Cmon anyooone?

    Hey guys.

Obviously there is no way to verify if you're going to do this, so lets do this for fun.

The wait for D3 is killing me. And I dont want that.

I'm going to make a pact with myself that I wont check anything diablo 3 related for exactly 1 MONTH!

Hopefully, by the time I come back, there will be some kind of update, otherwise, I don't want to speculate over and over again on the same info--it will make things lame and mundane, which diablo 3 should never be.

Who's with me? It's a challenge, yes, but it may help our sanity!

If you're going to do it, state so and let's see if we really can do it!

Tonight will be the last night, then the pact will start tomorrow until 30 or 31 so days.
