I ran a build for a while that looked like this, best fire Roland's damage I could squeeze out was:
5 Pc. Rolands
Cindercoat
Maximus
Fire Lidless Wall or Hellskull (both gave equal damage on my build, I preferred the Hellskull for the CDR)
SoJ & RoRG
Witching hour or Harringtons depending on the situation
Reapers wraps
Skills were:
sweep attack/blazing
laws of justice/immovable object
provoke/too scared
iron skin/steel skin
steed charge/endurance or nightmare
akarats champ/firestarter
passives:
heavenly strength
lord commander
finery
wrathful
This worked pretty well for me, the Maximus is easily the biggest damage boost, positioning the fire chain through elite packs makes a world of difference.

I switched from fire Rolands sweep build to phys Rolands sweep/pet build and haven't looked back.
