Quote from "sinned" »Then why have they announced SC2, also a "free" game?
As of today there still no official confirmation that SC2 will be free online, but as for what it means... -

Look I'm an avid fan of Diablo 1 and 2 and there's no one here that enjoy the gothic style of these games like I did, but the fan-altered screenshots don't bring back that feeling in anyway whatsoever. If anything it just look like someone turn down the light on the screen. They don't change the way the game looks (that is the style of the game).
Diablo 3 is going to be fine we'll just have to wait and live with it.

The first one I played was 3 which in my opinion the best one yet. The story was pretty cool, the characters to die for and the gameplay both addictive and challenging. Arkham and Vergil are among my favorite villains ever, one being just too twisted and the other being just as cold as badass. Also Dante is just impossible, " I told you before I don't like anybody with a bigger mouth than mine".
Oh it took me for ever but I swear that I SSed every single mission in the game with both Dante and Vergil even on DMD, without doubt the best times I had with this game.
As for the other DMC games, 1 was pretty cool but it feelt so old playing it after 3.
2 on the other hand was... err yeah it's the second DMC game...
Finally 4 is somewhat a disapointment storywise and a bit gameplaywise. The villains were bland, we still don't know exactly who exactly Nero is and why he got the Devil Bringer and Dante was just a copy and paste of DMC 1 + DMC 3 with less moves. I was expecting a lot more but Capcom clearly underexploited the potential of this game, they were just preparing the ground for DMC 5 while testing the next gen consoles. Regardless I'm not done having fun with this game
Hopefully Vergil will come back from the dead in 5 to fix things up and make the most epic game ever (after Diablo 3 of course)
Btw here's a good godly combo video of DMC 3

Beowulf and Vergil are the best bosses ever
Beowulf Vs Dante
Vergil Vs Vergil XD

Watch the gameplay trailer in HD again, I agreed with Elfen when he says that it looks more like God of War than World of Warcraft.
Diablo is that kind of "cartoon" that you watch and then you suddenly have a heart attack because because suddenly everyone gets gruesomely killed by dark crazy demons or because you saw one of those badass angels. Those random pictures people used to make a darker D3 DONT MAKE TRUE JUSTICE TO DIABLO 3. Some areas in the dungeon felt quite dark like when you see the Siege Beast walking in the shadows after they rescued Cain... "There's something in here"... You would have never seen that in Wow.
As for those complaining about the shoulder pads, it's Blizzard style to exaggerate things. I think it's cool for a huge Barbarian to have them this big but not for classes like the Witch Doctor. They take away the gracefuleness, just look at Tyrael on the Blizzcon banner you'll know what I mean. Some guys are just meant to look more like a wolf rather than a bear.

Still here's another unanswered question:
Since every classes is now a specific character with a specific personality, will it change the way you go through the story if you play male or female (mainly in the dialogues).

I wouldn't like that, The Witch Doctor already somewhat embodies the spirit of nature and death or if you prefer the dark side of nature (e.g. undead pets and locust). He's like a dark shaman.
I think they still haven't fully explore the arcane side of mages in Diablo, maybe this time he/she could be more polyvalent and control every school of magic particularly arcane (but not poison of course). There's something dark and eerie about them that they barely touched in Diablo 2 and that could make Diablo 3 really awesome.

Most embarrasing death I can think of right now is that time when the game lagged and I just stayed there stupidly watching the frozen monsters while I was sending them imaginary blows and then I suddenly died without any warning.
It's in time like these that I'm happy to play Softcore.

I don't know what they're going to announce at Blizzcon but I know it's going to surprise everyone though it will probably look similar to some of the ideas proposed here.
I'm betting on a Holy Archer Class

Also Diablo isn't the work of 2 or 3 persons but more the result of a team effort.
Finally just because they aren't going to drastically change the graphics doesn't mean that they don't listen to the fanbase. A good idea is good idea as they say.

There's no such things as too much power
Knowing Blizzard I'm probably wrong, but from what I've seen from the WWI I have a vision of a Ranged Holy class with Greek inspirations coming from Skovos.

-I want the old Oblivion Knight back
-Hell to have fleshy/bony/bloody/dark areas like in D1 but more creepy
-Bring back the Black Souls they look eerie
-More interactive dungeons with more traps and locked areas that require items.
-Zerg like crazy looking demon (i.e. like Duriel)
-Ninja/Samurai class or something similar that uses katanas or two handed swords
That's all I can think of right now

They mostly brought him back because Barbarians were a huge focus in D2 LOD and that it would make some good plot device related to the Worldstone.
We've been waiting for this game for 8 years of course there's going to be new stuff. Just because people got problems imagining what new class they could put in D3 without making a copy and paste of D2 doesn't they won't be surprised.
D3's devs dedicate their entire days at making this game. The puny imagination of the average guy giving a thought or two in a single day is just no match for them.

The Necro on the other is totally screwed when facing magic immunes and must rely on corpse explosion and mercs or other spells to finish the job.
I hope elements will be more balanced while still being more distinctive this time around.

act 4 was real bs, only 3 quests, only 4 npcs (only 2 of which you could talk to), smallest town in the game and shorter than act 1.
They could have done so much more with it, I just hope they won't do that kind of rush in D3 even if it means pushing back the release date.

He's a NPC in act 2 (the mage guy dress up in red/orange)
