This change to Primals brings nothing enticing to me whatsoever. If the endgame continues to be grinding bad Grifts then I don't see how a very low drop rate on an item that will grant very little more in terms of power is attractive.

Green posted a message on upcoming changes primal 14/2 pluepostPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionThis is how to scrap the idea with pretending that its not scrapped. Even without lowering the drop chance, its super hard to get any usefull primal on ptr now. In the time needed to collect primals with correct stats everyone will already have good rolled ancients. Most of the time we will be just getting forgotten souls from it.
Casual players will never see those (except some primal blackthorns i guess), and hardcore players will already have nearly perfect gear before they will be able to gather those. Also getting just 15 souls from salvaging it is a joke.

Fearlack posted a message on Item Dreams/Should-havesPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionThis is just a few items I would like to see put into the game in the next patch. These are items that I have thought of, not those that are going to be put into the game. Tell me what items you want to see put into the game. Im curious to see what people think.
Weapon/Armor( Preferably a Daibo or a shoulder piece) that gives you 50 - 100 stacks of the Flurry damage every time you use Blinding Flash.
Rolands Belt and or Bracers.
Weapon/Source that allows the Wizard to cast 2 additonal hydras, along with the Serpant Sparker for a total of 4 hydras, but each hydra is a different Element. Fire, Cold, Arcane, Lightning.
A Bow/2-handed Crossbow that shoots 15 - 20 Hungring Arrows like Multishot from Diablo 2. (I know we have the skill Multishot for the Demon Hunter.)
A Ring/Dagger that creates a Gigantic Fetish after accumilating 20 or so Fetishes that deals more damage than all of them combined( similar to Tall Mans Finger) and shoots 20-30 Poison Darts in a cicle around the Fetish.
A Weapon/Shoulder-piece that reduces the consumed stacks from Rankors from 5 to 1.
A Weapon/Shoulder-piece that increases the damage of Furious charge by 750% for each stack. Up to a maximum of 5 - 10.
A Wand/Source that calls down Meteror in all directions when cast.
A Might Belt/Weapon that gives Hammer of the Ancients the effect of every rune.

UncleDan2017 posted a message on What Diablo 4 can learn from the seriesPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionA feeling of character progression is key to me.
Killing new content (not just the same procedurally generated rifts you've been fighting since level 1) and gaining new skills and getting new gear as the game goes on really makes the game feel fresh and challenging. The D3 treadmill where leveling to 70 is an almost irrelevant nuisance, then you get geared in a brief window, and then you spend the rest of the season on the same treadmill, adding a lot of mainstat to your build and replacing existing items with new items that are the same, but have more mainstat and adding augments that have more mainstat is just a recipe for boredom with the game.
Currently D3 has three phases
1) Leveling to 70 (a matter of hours for experienced players)
2) Getting geared up (getting yourself all the items in your template, but not necessarily your final gear) this is hours to days for experienced players)
3) Quest for mainstat (the bulk of the season) - The rest of the season you just add more mainstat from things like Ancients, Augments, and paragons, to the extent mainstat hits diminishing return and you are rolling it off your gear for stats like AD and CDR and the like. The only gear you are interested in is better rolled versions of the gear you are currently wearing. Sadly, as seen by the many people who aren't interested in this quest and bail after a week or so, this quest doesn't resonate with many people.

I'm fairly certain, that adding a new class and 4 new sets for the class is the exact opposite of maintenance mode. Maybe I just don't understand the words there, but isn't that the point in which they only do small patches for quality of life or the fix something that is completely broken.... How is adding a new class any indication? Not to mention, my inflection as it was, was that if they are adding things to the game that aren't small tweaks, then they are not in MM. All I have seen is people say, I think it's good because paragon farming is just boring. Fair, but does that mean they have every piece PERFECTLY rolled in every slot, ancient, augmented with 100+ gems, no, it just means that they've given up the hope that it will happen, and take the best they can get.
D4 could be a totally different genre thus a necro there would feel different. Note that I am not saying D4 is coming, if a new game is going to get announced this year I would expect WarCraft 4.
Also, primals now have a different role than the ancients back in 2014. As of now D3 is in a maintenance mode, nobody expects miracles. In 2014 everything was still possible. The devs just choose the easy path or the marketing team said "no moneys in arpgs", we don't know. What we know is that right now primals are not a bad choice. What makes the situation bad is that there is nothing else coming. Maybe we should wait, who knows. Or maybe primals will completely turn off the rest of the people still playing D3, if trading or seasonal cap on main stat is not coming. Because when they drop it's going to be a botter's paradise.
The problem with Primal Ancient isn't that it's a new tier, but the fact that it will be less available to casual players. There are people who have played 16 hours a day since season 9 started. While they are paragon farming, they are also getting tons of legendaries. Every one that drops after 2.5 will have a chance to be Primal. The chances of them getting a Primal before guy127 who plays for 20 minutes at a time is astronomical, and yet RNG is still RNG. So how exactly is it different with Primals? Now that we've covered the basics of "The more you play, the more you win", what does Primal Ancient offer to the game, outside of 'bigger numbers kuz gear has bigger numbers'? Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Zero. Outside your initial 'wow' moment of getting it, it's just another bump. In fact it actually devalues regular legendaries completely. Anyone can make the comparison between Ancient and Primal Ancient and say, meh, not too big a difference, but from regular good old old fashioned legendaries, they are an extreme boost.
Followers need work, solo play needs work, support builds need work, gear? We'll all end up playing whatever build pushes out the most multipliers for skill XYZ anyways. Adding another layer of RNG to an already RNG loot fest isn't the answer for paragon farming. Engaging and competitive builds, that beats paragon farming everyday.
Side note: They should give DHs more set options. A belt? Necklace? Maybe? Considering Nat's is the only set that isn't Gloves/Helm/Chest/Boots/Pants/Shoulders... it's pretty weak in regards to build diversity. Don't worry though, Primals will save it. -

Beotrix posted a message on Upcoming Necromancer UpdatePosted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I believe there is going to be a couple new zones as well, though I am not sure how that is supposed to work? perhaps the new zones will be released to everyone in a content patch, and then unlocking the Necro requries the pack purchase?Quote from UncleDan2017»
I'm curious to see what you guys think about what the Necromancer should have and what items they should bring back.
I'm wondering if they will bring back Runewords. Fortitude, Heart of the Oak, Call To Arms, Enigma, Exile, Etc...
It would be interesting to how they work. Of course they would have to be normal items with many sockets. They can be socketed with 6 gems. Though that would give them a max amount of 1680 of any stat gem you put in there, and a max of 468 All Resist, but it wouldn't have any ability for anything else. So I think that would balance it out.
As near as I can figure out from what I have read all they are doing is adding another class. No runewords or any other major changes, although I would've loved to see a major change like that. They've been careful to refer to it as a pack rather than an expansion to the game.
They appear to be just running a new class through the same existing content. So, some new skills and passives. I'm sure it will be strong enough of a class to have either 1 or 2 Necs Meta- Mandatory so they can sell as many Necs as possible.
In anycase, Runewords would be a HORRIBLE idea. They are what ruined diablo 2 honestly. They took what I enjoyed most, which was magic finding, and made it worthless. Instead of stacking your character with Magic find and hunting down bosses for loot, you were left mindlessly grinding the pit and other shitty areas for socketed items and runes. basically all Unique items became worthless. Whats the point in having all these fancy unique armor, when everyone wanted Enigma or CoH?
I am all for them adding new Legendary items that open up new builds and new options, but for god sake, leave runewords out of this.... -

Triceron posted a message on super ancient ideaPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionIt would fit in perfectly with all the other RNG systems already in play. Why not add one more.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of it. When it works for you, it makes you feel awesome and super powered, but when it doesn't, you feel like you're behind everyone else who got lucky. Like rolling the perfect Ancient weapon with ideal stats, high base damage and max affix. You either get lucky or your progress gets soft capped. That's what this looks like to me.

drizzt_ posted a message on Conquest: Boss ModePosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionDid it yesterday solo, 1st attempt, 645 Paragon, very, very easy.
Classic WD Helltooth Garg build
Soul Harvest = 5 x 5% Speed = 25% speed
100% speed Spirit Walk in 2 secs
Angry Chicken skill instead Piranhado
Speed move pets passive = 15% / 30% speed
Green Move belt = 30% speed
Unity with Regen Gem (only for running instead Short Man Finger with stricken)
Manajuma's set = 100% speed
Switching to DPS just for the boss:
WH belt for green belt
Short Man Finger with stricken for Unity (recast Garg)
Best DPS weapon (in my case Scred Harvester + Henri's Mojo) for Manajuma -

New_generation posted a message on Expansion, possibly new game in the works...Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionSeems like a story creator for hero packs in a future for campaign!
So after all let down on blizzcon we still getting info/hints that it's not all, it will not be an xpack, but hero packs with story to tell for just 20 dollars? I mean this looks obvious that this job post is for Diablo 3 and related to necromancer pack...
They need to create a story or else it would be empty hero pack without nothing to tell you about and for price it should be set as high as possible with activision standards (thats why they didn't told us how much).
