    Have you played the fourth?

Haven't played it yet. However, thanks to this thread I did some searching and ordered the PC version for $10 on Newegg. Can't get much better than that.

Thanks for all the info guys.

I am just curious what peoples opinions are on DMC compared to god of war (amazing) and ninja gaiden (i just cant get into sigma). I love god of war and i own sigma but cant get into it, idk why lol.

I've played 1,2, and 3, and personally I liked 1 and 3 much better than God of War. The atmosphere, weapons, and combat just felt much deeper to me, and I didn't like the puzzle parts or the trigger events during certain creatures/bosses in GoW. Also, DMC 1 & 3 are more challenging than GoW, which I felt was really pretty easy.

The D2 economy itself would have been fine. The only things that needed to be changed to keep it great were the integrity and mechanics to using gold, no duping or hacks, and some system of trade comparable to WoW. No bots, a real currency and a trading house.... D2 would have been golden in that respect. Why not make it so for D3?

I agree and think that is what many people who are in favor of boe systems are forgetting. If it weren't for dupes, you'd have maybe 10 people running around with enigma etc. at any given point late in a season. Boe would be so detrimental I don't even know where to start. What if I want to help a buddy out and let him borrow some of my high level gear? What if I want to put it on a different char? What happens if I get two of the same item, but the one I have equipped has worse stats than the new one? Now I have to made a decision on whether to equip the new one, and have one that is worthless, or trade the new one and feel cheated. Thats stupid. I feel a boe system, even if it is only for top gear would be the single worst change that could come into this game, and it feels more like a cop out than a legitimate effort to try and keep a stable economy.

posted a message on Party Loot Options
Wasn't the whole reason this system was implemented was to prevent the "oh wow something good for me dropped ... oh darn i didn't get it" situation? When someone gets something good but isn't for them, then they can trade it. Ever hear the saying "what do don't know can't hurt you"? I really like the way the system is now. I get to focus on me and my loot and not worry about other people and what they get or what they would want of my drops. Less time worrying about other people = more time playing the game, and I'm all for that. If I get a 4wesome!!1!11! 2h sword drop but I'm playing a wizard, I want to be able to trade it for an 4wesome!!1!11! wizard item without having some dude next to me bugging me about how badly they want it.

posted a message on Reputation in D3
Don't like it. Much of the fun in Diablo is creating multiple characters. I don't want to have to grind out rep for 5+ characters. I have nothing against WoW - I've spent thousands of hours playing it - but seriously, if I wanted to do that kinda grinding I would still be playing. Not to mention rep grinds were my least favorite part of the game by far. They should stay as far away from any kind of grind as they can for D3 imo.

Only way I would even consider this a "ok" idea is if there are absolutely no "must have" rewards, and just make the rewards something aesthetic and in no way important to gameplay. I feel resistances, health, items, etc. as a reward for a grind would be very detrimental, particularly to the pvp side of things.

Last class is obviously a Frost Death Knight that starts at level 55 and even gets a mount. Obviously :)

Recently finshed The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe, and Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Two amazing sci-fi novels. New Sun is truly a work of art though. Some of the "twists" and ideas presented in it boggle the mind. Definately one of the best books I've ever read.

posted a message on We have only seen the first act?
I personally think it would be interesting if the story started out in the desert/Caldeum area or some other region, and then go back to Tristram further into the story rather than at the start. It would be kinda unexpected, and would perhaps allow them to shed some light on the peoples from other areas of Sanctuary. I also think the idea of "going back" to the Tristram area would be cool, rather than starting there like the first two games.

On the character selection page of the official D3 site the monk is wearing something like a tiara. Perhaps the beads around his neck are his shoulder armor as well.

Yeah, but they also said that the teams work together to some extent for ideas and such, and even if that's not the case here I still find it hard to believe that neither team knows what the other is doing (D2 patch and D3 teams).

I think most of my dissappointment at Blizzcon comes from confirmation that Cataclysm will be the 2010 release. [...]
I'm really impressed with some of the info they gave on B.net 2.0, particularly the SC2 league system [...]

Yeah, I feel the same way. What's disappointing to me is that the most exciting information was about infrastructure (battle.net) rather than one of the games themselves, and no info on the D2 patch. I do think the monk is pretty cool though...

I thought the same thing at times. I think it works very well playing solo, but as soon as they showed 4 players on a screen it became very chaotic.

I'm kinda partial to Azurewrath when it was a crystal sword.

I couldn't believe it when they changed it :(
