You will die. (Or at least you should act like it.) I know the servers are much more stable now. I lost 3 of 4 characters to the "network disconnect". The other was lost just to not having played softcore through or researching encounters. I am back up to a 51 wizard now. I keep all of the gear I replace in my stash and have started a new level 10 wizard. I know eventually I am going to die to something whether it is in my control or not. My advice is to minimize your loss by having another character inherit all the gear you replace. This is closest your going to get to restoring your hc character. It is almost like a save point. I was dumb the first week and auctioned my old gear to buy new gear. When my 37 died to network disconnect I had nothing to fall back on. Now, I have the gear to level all the way to 42+. I play my other wizard with lower level friends and so on.
P.S. There is an achievement for two level 60s of the same class!
I am casting spells like meteor and blizzard which do not require "attack speed" as I know it. I switched out attack speed gloves for higher intelligence ones and my "damage" as stated on the character sheet dropped by 140 despite being more intelligence. Is the "damage" calculation in the character sheet the basis for all spell damage? Does that mean I should use the attack speed gloves even if the spells I cast are not attack speed based?
I just lost ANOTHER character to network disconnect. 29 hours of my life over 4 days all down the drain. MY 37 wizard RIP. I am surprised that there are no safeguards in place to stop this from happening repeatedly.... I was ok with death one to Netwrok DC... but now... I don't know why I would waste my time.
Hey there everyone. I haven't played d2lod for a while and started again just last week. Of course I have already been pk'd. I only enjoy hardcore ladder (on west). I don't even know what hit me. I am in a baal run, somebody goes hostile and I hit the ground.
Anyhow, I was hoping to find some people to play with. I don't need hand outs, I just want fair looting and people who won't kill me. =p
