Well, as one of the most hardcore Diablo players ever, knowing practically everything, and playing the game for over 8 years, I would like to share my take on most things that I've read about, or encountered in the passed few weeks. If you want to know a hardcore player's POV, a player who isn't blinded by nostalgia or bias, then read on. If you're looking for Blizzard bashing and calling them incompetent careless idiots, then read no further.
III: The With Doctor/Necromancer Issue:
Well, I know the Necromancer is a great character. I didn't play with the Necromancer, but I know how awesome a character he is. Not to undermine all the Necro players, I played the Barbarian and the Assassin, and I disliked the fact that they kept the Barbarian. The reason to why I say that is because I'm not buying a tweaked version of Diablo 2, I'm buying an entirely new game, that can offer the same "experience" that the previous titles have put forth, but not the same everything, because I could just get back to play Lord of Destruction and bore myself to death with it. The With Doctor seems to be pretty dang awesome. He can be absolutely formidable in parties. You'd get the Barbarian bashing everyone, with support from him, and God knows which other characters. The Necromancer was awesome at that as well with his useful spells, but come on, we need something new, something completely different, and that's portrayed in the Witch Doctor. Don't be afraid of change, embrace it, maybe you will like what's put forth more than what you wanted. I think we're all just stuck in a pit called nostalgia, and just want a revamped Diablo 2. That's impossible my friend.
Those are just some major issues I wanted to talk about. I may have forgotten some stuff, but I will add on to it if it comes to mind. Hope that was a good read for you, take care.
THIS, this is where you and I differ. Lorewise and Gameplay wise the Necromancer outdates the Witch Docter by far. Trade in the Barbarian for another warrior class and swith the Witch Docter with the Necromancer IMO.
Gameplay: Witch Docter uses disease and summons unholy creatures to do his bidding. Specializes in crowd control and dps from afar. The Necromancer uses poisen and of course necromancy to do his bidding. Specializes in summons and pure dps, crowd control at a minimun (Bone Wall Bone Prison). The only promising thing about the Witch Docter is the Zombie Wall by far, a revamped Necromancer could have more of a promising effect in D3.
Lorewise: Witch Docter, an unmutated goatman that uses disease. Necromancer, a being who uses Necromancy to tip the scales between Order and Chaos to remain prefectly balanced. I don't know about you, but I rather have a World Balance Guardian than a disease-freak unmutated goatman.
I actually think this might be a good idea to be implanted BUT there's a few minor issues
Programming: We all know that Console games can achieve it, but Diablo is a game of one man versus hordes of demons HORDES, smart AI with every demon in that HORDE of HORDES is goign to be tough
Difficulty: Stated above, its going to be tough with each demon in that HORDE of HORDES going all strategic on you

OMG you're a freaking child... I am agreeing with you that starcraft is a great and successful game for fucks sake. Pull your head out of your arse and grow up. Every single thing I have said is in favour of Starcraft, you're taking this one line, out of context, which is meant in an ironic fashion, out of about 10 posts, and turning it into a crusade to try and label me some starcraft basher... In fact I don't think you even care about that any more, it sounds like you have realized your wrong but just want to be right, so are trying to grasp at whatever straw you can to hold yourself in a better light.

I use quotes and direct words because it's better than basing off speculation, metaphors, synonyms, and other figures of speech deriving off the true statement. Quoting the 'orginal and unedited' statment is better than quoting the 'edited' one.

I'll put it like this, in more simpleton terms. L2P, in order, which franchise has the least amount of sales. Then you say: "Why SpanishBard that would be Starcraft". Well then it would be reasonable for someone to say, "Because Starcraft hasn't hit the global market as well as the other franchises, it is the least popular". Make sense? This is an opinion based off of a statistical analysis. That's all it is. It isn't a diss. When he said he was dissing starcraft, he misinterpreted himself. He wasn't dissing starcraft, he was presenting the facts about starcraft in a negative light. He himself, was not dissing starcraft. This is where you're getting confused. So the conclusion is: he was not dissing starcraft, simply discussing retail sales and popularity.
Starcraft is quite popular in Korea; however, globally it only has about 9.5 million sales. The Diablo franchise has about 20 million. Now, Diablo has 2 games and an expansion, so that sequel helped push those numbers. So one could also argue that because Blizzard hasn't invested as much time into Starcraft and sequels, those retail sales may not represent popularity.
He isn't contradicting himself. Only misrepresenting himself. If I say, "Starcraft hasn't sold as well as the other games, but I still love starcraft". How is that quote at all a contradiction?
Basically what I get from here, is that he made a MAJOR typo is that about it?
If not then my point stands that he still denies the fact that he dissed Starcraft, WITH BOTH QUOTES SHOWN. Misinterpretation or not, it's his fault that he can't get his own facts straight.
