The retrospective -had- new Diablo 3 cinematic footage of a random angel, Tyrael and Diablo! But when I went back to watch it again about 5 minutes later to take screenshots the clips are gone! It looks like Blizzard made a mistake and replaced the video! NOO.

Did anyone get screenshots of the new CG? I'm sad now :/

I'm not sure if this has been addressed but a few pages back someone said that Diablo3 will be a new interpretation of the Diablo2 storyline, and that when they created Diablo2 they had nothing in mind for future installments.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Metzen responsible for all Diablo lore as well as Starcraft and Warcraft? (poor guy). So I'm sure it's all connected.

They said Diablo3 will not require DX10. That doesn't mean it won't use it.

Can someone put an animated gif together of all 5 images? I'd like to see it.

I'm also pretty convinced that the ice isn't melting, but we are moving closer to whatever was in the center.

Do we know what Tyreal's (and other angel's) eyes look like? Or do they even have any? They seem to be shrouded in darkness in Diablo2.

I hope they show a CG teaser trailer like they did for SC2

How did someone find those pictures? They don't seem to be available from the normal website

I like how everyone is talking about how these rune symbols could be from Frostmourne, as if Frostmourne came first.

Is everyone forgetting that Diablo2's rune system FAR predates Frostmourne? If anything Blizzard recyled runes from Diablo2 for Frostmourne, not the other way around.

Just like oh I don't know.. socketing items in WoW? Gee, where did that come from? OH YEA! D2: LoD!

Blizzard is going out of their way for the first time ever to release a teaser for an expansion to an exhisting franchise, and also they are making a huge deal about the release of a game that we have known about for over a year now.

They aren't goin to tease for a beta, or a cinematic, or any of that crap. Same goes for SC2.

I think it's a Diablo 3 announcement.. only not.

As in, Diablo MMO.

It's a new Diablo game, technically Diablo 3 but not officially called Diablo 3 since it's an MMO. Hence the fact that it can, and probably still is, a Diablo game announcement.

The fact that the most recenty trilogy was meant to establish an official canon backstory to the world lends to the idea of an MMO. So instead of Blizzard making a Diablo3 to introduce more lore (like Warcraft3 did) and then make an MMO.. they let the books do it for them.

Plus, there are TONS of hirings for a "next gen TOP SECRET mmo". And let's think about Blizzard for a sec, what could be the MMO?

1) WoW2 - Don't think so
2) Starcraft MMO - Why, so both RTS's go into MMOs? I don't see it happening
3) Some new universe. And blizz hasn't done that in 10 years.
4) Diablo MMO.

We'll see soon..

At the very most I think that this domain will get redirected to Blizzard's site tonight. Whether or not it just arrives at blizzard.com or has its own page with info on it, who knows.
