A server client architecture is inherently vulnerable to attacks. If you put in some sort of measures, you will only move the point of vulnerability to somewhere else. It will usually always occur at the point where the system has to filter out / authenticate or where there is a performance bottleneck.

There are ways to lessen the problem using sophiscated load balancing technology with algos idenitifying DOS, tunnelling, routing but theses usually only to lessen the issue rather than to prevent the problem completely.

Internet terrorists are smart. If you step it up, so will they and they will always catch up.

Yes, but the carrot and stick are mounted on the back of a ferrari travelling at top speed whilst I'm chasing it riding a donkey. I am completely flabbergasted as to why you are attempting to justify car theft by blaming the owner for not having The Club on their steering wheel. I have no doubt that Blizzard could do more. I'm sure I could go out and get a better security system installed on my car too. But when people break the law there is no "well they didn't do enough to prevent me from attacking them" defense. It's nonsensical bullshit.

The people who buy into things like the Junger Method are the same kind of people who either have never looked into how the pity timer works or who remain willfully ignorant of its functionality (they've seen the blue post/blue quote and simply don't believe that it's true).
