Several of my friends have lost their hardcore characters already (really well geared ones, too).

    Really sucks.

That really does suck, I hope Blizzard can give them some sort of compensation for it.
    Refund would do nicely

Thanks... So this explains the Authentication server issues on Saturday.

Are these lizard people responsible for the the frequent disconnections in the past few months too ?

posted a message on Authentication Queued and frequent disconnections
    Hi support

Last week there was significant downtime on Tuesday for maintenance. At the weekend just gone, I tried to log in to play but failed to do so because an authentication issue. In my login screen, it said "Authentication queue - 93 ..." or something along those lines. After a few minutes, I got disconnected so i took a break. After a further 20 minutes, i tried again and got disconnected.

When I did finally log in last night, I played 2 T4 bounties and 1 rift. In the first bounty run, after completing 4 bounties and in the midst of the 5th, I got disconnected. In the rift just before the Rift Guardian was about to arrive, I got disconnected again.

Whatever the reason is, I find this very unacceptable. Although I appreciate the technical difficulties in keeping an interactive game online and working with no issues, I am also aware that this and similar issues were raised a long time ago on this forum and battle.net yet nothing has been done.

Do you plan to do anything to address this or is it a consequence of strategic cost saving ?. if it is, do let us know so we can spread the word and stop others wasting their money on this half baked product.

It's just a CD. if you are hard up for cash, then learn from this and put your other games CDs somewhere safe along with your other valuables.
If you've got money, then buy another CD.

Only help I can offer you is a suggestion for you to google the consequences of insulting your child and also taking responsibility.

    Too long, didnt read
I read it, you didn't miss much. Just the usual "everyone at Blizzard is an incompetent idiot, none of them play the game and none of them know anything about game design" whine.
Why dopeople always have to resort to "whine" statements in the Diablo 3 community. Its like that's all you can say.A PVP thread pops up what do you see? A bunch of monkeys trying to hump the keyboard faster than the other monkeys to say first on the post "stop crying" or "whine, boo hoo, whine". Same as this thread and all others about the Dev team being incompetent. Why don't you stop acting like a monkey and use that brain you were born with to contribute your opinion or facts about the game as the OP posted, instead of just telling people "just the usual whine".
With all due respect, you do have the choice not to read this thread. As this thread istitled "Diablo 3 Rant", you do know what's coming before you click :)

I haven't played D3 for a few weeks now. When I do, i just play for 10 minutes and become quite bored.Having reached paragon 3XX, I frequently ask myself "why I am I still playing ?" and the answer is always "I don't know" so I end up logging out.

There are 2 issues here :

    1. Blizzard have tried to make this game last longer and they have done a pretty decent job of it. The problem is in doing so, they have made some aspects of the game too slow, tedious and boring. They could have done a better job but then again, maybe not.

    2. Some users of this game just don't know when to stop and will expect the game to satisy them for years and years whereas others of us expect the game to burn out after a few hundred hours. Having played approx 500 hours myself, I feel I have gotten my monies worth ( 70 USD ) so will let the cat rest in peace rather than continue to flog it.

When 2.1 comes along, I may play again but once I get bored, will stop.In terms of enjoyment/cost, D3 is a success. 500+ hours fun for only 70USD. Where I live, 70USD will only get me 7 Rum & Cokes which will only last 3 hours if I drink slowly.

Let's give him a break and be grateful that he's sharing his experience with us.

The sad fact is, there will be many ppl amongst us who were/are considering using such services and will fall in the trap. Not everyone has common sense, *Ooops, another slap*

damn, just shows people are lazy just to get ahead of others. we all know that grinding keystone is a chore but come on, allotting 30mins per day to farm will go along way.

    it is a lesson learned.
"More money than sense" comes to mind..

You paid for the game, then you paid someone to play it for you to get you keystones ?. OMG, absolutely hilarious...

Why not just buy a game that's actually fun through and through play that instead ? Seems to be plenty of them out there

    Junger Theory Bounty Farming Part 2/3 - 25x A1 T4 Caches
Today I continue the mini-series by opening 25x A1 T4 caches, all solo farmed. I talk about the 'unavoidable' legendaries I found along the way, get 4 legendaries from bags (no rings), and discuss more tinfoil shenanigans. My goal is not to prove this method one way or another - I simply don't (and won't) have a large enough sample size - but rather to see if it has any merit. Enjoy!

    http://youtu.be/cHtQdRH73UI
You seem very determined which I respect but I still think you'd be better off channeling your time into something better ( school work ) or if you are an adult, work or day trading or sports ? or just take the game for what it is ?.

All the threads about RORG highlight some possible issues around the design and implementation of RNG. Regardless, it will be impossible to determine how Blizzard have implemented the caches / drops / RNG unless you have a massive sample size.

If however, you do try to do this, I would seriously urge you put your energy into something more worthwhile.

Remember, this is only a game so unravelling how it works is pointless especially given there is a patch looming on the horizon.

Please do not let this consume you.
    Thank you life coach!
    You're welcome.

Why not take a scientific approach and instead try to disprove the junger theorem. If you totally fail disprove it then it maybe its true.

For any correlation you find to be taken seriously by anyone with half a scientifc brain, they would expect large sample sizes. As a starting point, how about opening 20,000 horadric caches ( 10,000 farmed using junger, 10,000 without ) and capture it all on video as evidence ?. The sample size may not be big enough ~ depends on how we handle random noise.

I am not sure how long it will take you but if you have the time, fair enough. Who am I to knock you for putting so much effort into to proving something which a D3 developer could probably check on and confirm if he/she were allowed to within the space of 3 minutes.

posted a message on Which Torment?
I have an MM build with Tal, firebird sets. I also tried a Tal, Vyr and Firebird build which gave me all the set bonuses but I found the VYR cooldown to be way too long in a fast game where you cannot pause. My MM spam build ( see below ) is fast in T1 up to T3. T4 is fairly fast. T5 is ok but my survivability is questionable against nasty blue elites in enclosed spaces. I usually wear Goldwrap which keeps me alive so long as something drops gold.

For Archon to work, I really need to go back to the drawing board and will have to ditch some items to improve CDR but I cannot be bothered as the cooldown seems too much to work on

Helm, Amulet, Chest : Tal Rasha with maxed out topaz gems in chest

    Shoulders, Braces : Aughilds

Rings : RORG, Trifecta Krades flame

    Boots : Ice Climbers

Gloves, Pants : Firebirdwith maxed out topaz gems in pants

    Offhand : Mirror ball

    Weapon : Thunder fury

Belt : Harrington with +134%, Goldwrap or Witching Hour depending on the map 7 ppl I am playing with

Prmary : MM - glacial spike to take advantage of 750% collateral damage on explosion

    Secondary : Arcane Orb

Others, explosive blast, frost nova, magic weapon, ( meteor or wave of force )

Skills : Audacity, Unstable anomaly, Unwavering will, evocation,

    Quote from dezien

The idea of greater difficulty is only supported by greater reward. if everyone got the same stuff from t1 and t6, no one in the world cared for t6 really. sometimes, maybe, but just to "challenge" urself. nope.

You have T1 gear, you play t1, get t1 loot. Sooner or later you will advance.

Btw i do not see how this is an issue. You can gear any char to T6 level in 2 days tops (well in some hours in reality) on Rift it forward. It is as worse if not worse than auction house. This system what is killing this game now, cause once again, everyone can get high end gear easily. Well it is even easier than AH was. Beats even rmah....

Its gonna be nice they fix rift it forward, although its a tad bit late.
Currently, I am around paragon 350. My main goal is to advance stats through my paragon levels as my items are all good and cannot be improved upon much at all. If I play T1, it will take me at least 5 to 6 rifts to go up one level. If I play T4 ( which I do now ), it takes on average 2.5 rifts. Therefore, I prefer to play T4 because its more efficient from a (XP Gained) / (rift fragment) perspective.

I also know that I will come across lots of legends in the process of xp farming so there's no need to focus only on legend hunting .

Besides, if people want to just go for legends, fine, leave them. Sooner or later, they will need to step up to higher torments if they want to advance their paragon levels at a reasonable pace.

Do you think it was in Blizzards game specification ?. "Reduce drop rates in lower torments forcing players to leech in higher torments" Erm, I think not.

There are so many people who are now finding the game boring and you cannot blame them. If a player managed to max out his Wizard in 500 hours, that's fine as he still has a few more classes to play. Why try lengthen the game further so that it takes him 1000+ hours to max out a character.

The average person with a life will not want to put 5000 hours into a game.

I've almost stopped playing and now prefer to complain on forums. Its far more stimulating than the game.
