Introducing a new mat won't happen I'm afraid.

A fairly easy approach to get more value out of not needed Primals would be to get more mats out of it - let's say instead of 1 soul you get 10 (or 15 or 20, the number doesn't matter right now).

And a new recipe for the cube for Primals only which allows to reforge it and keep the "Primal" attribute of the item, but costs a tremendous amount (like 5 times the mat for "normal" legendary reforging). Although I doubt this would come bc I would have expected sth like that with Ancients already.

I personally don't see a reason for a mobile app version. When I play the game on the PC, I have the tracker open in a browser session on my second screen. Even if I'd use only one screen I'd just tab out and click what I just solved.

Maybe console players would appreciate an app, but also there you could just open the browser and do the same on your phone or tablet.

When we are talking about DB farm builds, this one is also worth noting:

You can also include Nemesis when you have an ancient weapon. For me, with a non ancient weapon it worked fine in T11 (solo and 2p). If you lack damage you can put in the pet gem and/or CoE. It's pretty much dashing around, blinding the elite, activating the allies and - boom - all dead. And I use Serenity instead of Inner Sanctuary.

Because it's not ready yet ;-)

Since they changed a few more things this time, and the total number of items per chapter differs, I'll have to do a more thorough testing and rewrite the logic a bit before releasing the S9 version. I'm not sure when I'll have time to do that. As soon as it's done I'll see if I can add that beta button. Should've done it a long time ago so people on PTR can cross-check, but this time of the year usually lacks one thing: time.

This may sound silly, but at which Torment level do you search? Is the spawn rate of goblins influenced by Torment level? Also the spawn rate of both Uniques itself (one for portrait in rainbow cow level, one for wings in rainbow goblin level)...otherwise you could just switch to Normal and run with your fastest char through the areas.

posted a message on Area damage vs. main stat

    Hi,

I have a pretty general question: when is AD favored to main stat?

Let's say, your spec (class not considered) profits from area damage. Let's say you have a perfect item, e.g. shoulders or gloves with your 3 desired stats and main stat. When do you roll off the main stat for area damage?

By feeling I'd say 10k main stat makes you not do it, 20k main stat makes you do it, but no maths included, just a thesis.

If the example is too easy, let's make it more specific: you have a perfect ancient Hellfire amulet with elementary damage, CD, socket, main stat and you don't need crit (e.g. thorns builds, sharpshooter builds). Would you roll 1000 main stat off for 20 AD or not? Does your current amount of main stat influence you? If yes, when do you say "I have enough main stat, I can roll it off"? And is there something like "enough AD"?

FYI, I also created a thread in reddit with the same text https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo3/comments/5esf17/area_damage_vs_main_stat/?st=ivxgxyzg&sh=cfbbecb7

One QoL idea: can you provide a "Reset" button? When getting from season 7 to season 8 most buttons are still activated, bc locally stored. Instead of clicking all min req. buttons to reset the sheet manually a button which does the work would be awesome. Also regarding following seasons. Maybe a bit apart from the other buttons so you can not accidentely click it mid-season (or provide a "Are you sure?" popup)

Well, you could hunt all the rare transmogs which you are missing. Apart from that (and trying a different class) Idk what to do besides the Season Journey anymore. GR Pushing is not my motivation as well as Paragon grinding. Focus drawn away from loot made the game boring to me, no real "yaay" effect anymore from a short gaming session and a nice loot drop. Only hardcore grinding/gaming for the game is awarded. But this is just my personal opinion.

posted a message on General Hack + Invoker 2pc question

Ok, I was confused, bc your examples (and the ones in the posted reddit thread) only tested thorn based skills. If it is as I originally assumed and Hack provides Thorns damage from your gear to every skill which damages the enemy, then I wonder why not more hybrid Thorns builds exists yet.

These builds would be similar to your Roland's with different damage sources. Only thing which hurts and makes you think is the OH slot choice where you have to decide where you set your main damage focus - is it the Thorns or is it the damage skill itself. Also that you lose 130 CD from the weapon gem. What I wonder too, is, if sacrificing the ring slot in cube (which probably is CoE) for RoRG to get Invoker 2pc is worth it. Especially when you profit from 2 cycles of CoE in this setup I doubt 2pc is > than 2x 200% ele damage (+ probable other sacrifices, e.g. bracers or armory slot in cube to keep bracers bonus).

For example, from seeing that Hammerdin was able to clear 96 (didn't check the leaderboards, just taken from reddit), I think it's worth a thought to adapt such a build and sacrifce one or two hammer damage modifiers to build in Thorns.
Advantage from Hammerdin, you have a high attack speed and multiplying Thorns sources (Limitless rune) and reset your Provoke frequently and can keep up Spiker's bonus very, very often (sacrificing the 250% damage modifier from Guard of Johanna, which hurts quite a lot, but Thorns should provide more damage).

So, from picking this example http://www.diablofans.com/builds/80141-holy-hammerdin-82 you need to adapt the following: Hack in cube for Furnace, Spiker for Guard of Johanna in OH, gem in weapon, Gogok for Boyarsky's, Iron Maiden for Blunt, Thorns on "main Thorns slots" like amu, belt etc. But that's it for a basic test.

Ofc this is harder to gear than the basic setup though. I'm just curious how well it works out.

For FotH I'm curious if each single fragment can provide Thorns or only the impact.

/edit: after thinking about it a while I'm afraid I have to correct myself. I think one has to sacrifice too much to implement Thorns into Seeker. Even when taking the Hammer shield instead of the Provoke one you lose 130CD which is a lot. And 15% CDR from Gogok for Perma AC as well as the ias buff (and survivability thanks to dodge).

posted a message on General Hack + Invoker 2pc question

Yeah but the text is still misleading. I would have expected to use Thorns Hammers, Thorns Condemn, Thorns FotH etc. from the text. Not that only skills which have a Thorns rune profit from that legendary affix.

posted a message on General Hack + Invoker 2pc question

Ok then I was simply misinterpreting the text of Hack: "75–100% of your Thorns damage is applied on every attack." Here I understood that you basically supply Thorns damage on your gear to _every_ skill with whom you can attack, which would mean also non-Thorn skills would profit from Thorns damage.

Call me stupid for asking such a basic question I'd like to know, but I'm not able to test it out at the moment, so I'll give it a shot: Hack legendary affix says thorns damage is triggered by EVERY attack. Taking this together with the first sentence of 2pc Invoker - is it correct that every attack skill triggers the area damage of 2pc then?

Ok I read a bit so far and digged out an older PTR GR video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrzvfjhwoUM ) and an explanation for crit and dots ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/1r4zju/crusader_skill_heavens_fury_blessed_ground_quite/cdjnhhf?st=it7izef4&sh=840efc68 ).

So also for this Crusader skill as for every other dot crits are just shown white, but can crit (or is there still this old division between crit per cast and crit per tick dots in general?).

The combination Condemn Vacuum - Illusory Boots/Flash was also used long long time ago for Condemn Builds. If I remember correctly, Mannercookie managed to do it without Illusory Boots and had a special kind of movement when dragging in the mobs via Condemn (+ Steel Skin). But as this is long time ago my memory may trick me here.

/edit: for additional Toughness, maybe Esoteric Alteration + String of Ears?

posted a message on Akkhan's Microwave GR75+ Build (VIDEO included)

For the ring, why not SoJ instead of CoE and CoE in the cube? You said HF can't crit, so you don't need CD/CC and can profit from the Elite Damage AND Holy%. But in your build you take CD and CHC, so I'm a bit confused.

Do you need the reduction from Unity? If yes bc you are too squishy, maybe Esoteric Alteration does the job, which you opted as third gem and you still can take a SoJ.

What about the Holy Gem? No Smiteproccs from HF?

What about BoTT when you move more than 15yds away? Is your Blind still active?

Maybe Zei's alows another playstyle. Like, set HF, maybe proc Flash, blind Mobs, run away and profit from Zei's.

I'm thinking about taking only one movement skill, which means leave the horse out and take Condemn - Vacuum. This would mean Flash - Condemn - HF - Blind (Flash should have procced already) - run away.

And in general, I appreciate your effort, especially for my favourite class after no Mannercookie is around anymore, but nowadays the mass won't watch a video which is that long, either you highlight the most important parts via a in-video-menu/description of the video or you shorten it/create a second summary video.

In general there is not that much crusader love. After mannercookie switched to PoE I barely read new stuff about my favourite class, and I don't have the time to check out more than reddit and dfans from time to time. So yeah, at some point you cut information like that. For me it's new news that Hammerdin could get that high. And as long as you, Angry_Roleplayer, and anyone else is willing to share that information in the appropriate forums, it won't reach the community.

FYI, just checked the reddit forum and the only Hammerdin builds on the right side are either 2.4 GR 65+ or from patch 2.3 GR 55.

If I got the info earlier (and many others too probably), I would have mained Crusader again. But I can't stand another Bombardment/Invoker season. And now I'm already settled with the decision to go DH for Marauder Chakram.

posted a message on Ancient Yang's - Stat Priority

Is the list above my post still up to date? Because of the topaz in helmet, wouldn't AD climb up the order? Or does this not make sense as you need to gear CDR when not using a diamond in helmet? How much RCR is needed?

/edit: Ok, could answer the question by myself, thanks to Yang's no more RCR is needed, 2 CDR rolls on gear (typically shoulders + OH) + diamond in helmet + paragon are enough together with cubed Dawn for almost perma Vengeance (~1sec downtime). A third CDR roll would nullify the CD completely, but it seems people prefer damage stats over that (?). For me, with my Cru experience, it makes more sense to nullify the CD and use also CDR on the gloves. You then have a range of 1~2 CDR with input lag, so the rolls don't have to be perfect.

I will play with casual pace (have work and life) to get Guardian achievement (as with all previous seasons).

I'll be rolling Monk for this season (which is my least played class) and try different specs and builds.

I'm still not burned out, cause i really don't have too much time and opportunity to play.

For me personally the most boring part is to level gems for Caldesann's Despair.

You don't need to level gems for Caldesann's Despair if you only want to finish Guardian. If this is the very last part missing for your Guardian achievement, just use the 3 legendary gems which you used so far.

posted a message on The meaning of TurboHUD and why it is much more than just a hack

I also know about AVR, played that game for quite some years, also progressively. Best waste of time you could have with the right people ;)

Regarding the so often adressed mouse, I guess it's a rather simple explanation: the left hand doesn't know, what the right hand is doing. Blizzard is a rather large company and each company has different departments with different responsibilities. And the person who signed the contract with Steelseries has to reach a financial goal/year for the whole department (or even one hierarchy higher) which helped a lot to reach that goal, but probably either he/she didn't have the knowledge about this ToS stuff we are disputing about or had simply the argument Midknite above me already mentioned: just because it's a Blizzard supported product doesn't necessarily mean the features are allowed in that special game, although advertised for it. Sounds pretty contradictory, but I guess from a law point of view that's how it is. Just a thought.

I appreciate this discussion, really. And, as already said on page 2, some functionalities are no cheats, some are. ToS forbids the whole tool, although, customized correctly, it gives no cheating information anymore.

As stated above from Midknite, it's probably too powerful, even with cut information. But, although I have to admit it simplifies the game which is bad, in the same moment it helps people to step closer to a similar experience level as so called diablo veterans (which is unfair for them they'd probably say, but that doesn't count as argument for me).

My personal impression from reading everything: the the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. But everybody has to make his own conclusion here.

The colorblind reason I read in this thread is by far the most understandable one to use THUD. It's sad that the colorful settings don't cover such a case and a simple number does the job, which, in the eyes of Blizzard, is too much information (I guess they are just not aware of this special case and think the colorblind settings cover all of them, so adressing it to Blizz could indeed help here). The QoL argument for THUD is more personal preference you could say.

I hope it's not too confusing what I wrote, I try to see it from both perspectives.

posted a message on The meaning of TurboHUD and why it is much more than just a hack

Request: before quoting parts, please read the whole text. Thank you.

The main thing why THUD is officially illegal is bc D3 doesn't offer a LUA interface like WoW and therefore has to be started in an own instance. And, as already stated, this won't change.
The main thing why THUD is seen illegal by a large amount of the community is bc it offers additional information the standard UI user does not have.

THUD with generally used activated maphack changes the way you move. In a 4 player game with random players you can, after a while, see who's using it (either if you use it by yourself and see how optimized someone else moves or if you try to be the lead but fall behind after a while bc you walk into dead ends more often than a THUD user). I used to have such a "leading position" when doing speed farms with some mates, but when THUD came out and got more and more popular it happened to me that I was way slower bc I walked in some dead ends from time to time and ended up following the others, sometimes with a higher distance between each other bc I walked into a dead end again. In the most extreme case I ended up as a looting monkey. The explanated example is just casual Rifting, but it doesn't sound like fun that way, does it?

Also, more deaths occur bc you don't see voidzones as quickly or as easy as with THUD, especially in higher GR where the incoming damage really hurts. Without this tool you have to pay more attention.

And, for the competition, you are faster with it, which influences the time remaining for a GR, so you cannot really compare each other fairly anymore.

Taken out the maphack, you still have elite shown, in GR pylon spawn points shown, voidzones shown, with Harrington (or customized UI) clickables shown, items worth to pick up shown (aka customizable loot filter which is allowed in PoE or integrated in a simpler way in Grim Dawn).

If you deactivated all that stuff you would indeed have a pimped UI w/ useful information, e.g. XP/hr, CDs in numbers for optimized gameplay (e.g. CoE, skill resets, F+R). But as it is activated per default, I doubt there are many people who take the effort to cut the "cheat info" out. But it is possible, just saying.

Yepp, you don't need it to play, it's just more convenient and easier. But, compared to WoW, D3 is much simpler and you have way less information to manage. Therefore I can understand that people see it as cheating.

In WoW you have addons who offer exactly the information some features of TH do. So from a view of plain functionality __some__ features of THUD are not necessarily a cheat. It mainly is seen as cheat bc of maphack and __some__ additional information you shouldn't see like Elite position, Elite affixes, voidzones. The rest is just convenience and has more "addon character" than "cheat character".
Btw, Blizz implemented some features bc the players moaned about the bad UI. Some of these features existed only with TH before Blizz integrated it (DH traps was something if I remember correctly, or more accurate DPS).

TLDR: It's a fine line between cheat or no cheat if you ignore the own-instance-fact and take off your blinkers and deactivate obvious cheat-character functionalities. But barely someone wants to walk this fine line and take a deeper look. Black and White is easier. And barely someone wants to cut the information given to say "I play legal with TH", which is an oxymoron per definition. So yeah, it ends up that you play without it and hate others for using it, or you play with it and justify yourself. Both parties won't accept the other's PoV.

With Steed I don't need these boots. I'm currently collecting 2 more Items, then I can take Vigilante Belt off, but I don't plan to take Illusory Boots. Makes more sense for me to push DHs more than taking a skill I can replace with a (for me) better one easily. And it's more fun to Steed instead of Vacuum (no criteriion, but nice side effect).

I play with Steed. More movement and you can carry mobs faster further. Maybe I'm playin Vacuum wrong, but I were often surrounded by mobs and had no way out, especially in narrow regions.

Maybe with 2.1 and one more deff passive thanks to hellfire amu this is an option again...we'll see.

Imo Fire Starter procs as often with hammers as with FoH, if not more often. Plus Thunderfury proccing furious, there is a competetive damage potential I think. At least for AoE.

    But
    - reflect mobs are impossible without losing too much damage by swapping passives
    - missile dampening is annoying
    - single mobs take longer than with Darklight Fire or Shotgun
    - survivability is more difficult (it's possible not to die, but you have to play really concentrated)

As I didn't find a good solution for reflect mobs without losing damage, I'll go back to Darklight Fire :(

Maybe this spec gets more attention with future patches.
/edit: Added my final spec in the first post.

Ranged: Blessed Ground + horse to get in range
Electrified: well, I have the amu, so this is unfair...but I played without it against them, with hammers you can stay in mid range really well, so this is no problem for me. Shield Bearers block them away, also blinding them is an option.
Reflect: now we are talking... I have no good working tactic against them at the moment. Notice them or die. It's simple as that. I'm swapping around some skills to find a satisfying tactic. This spec has so much potential, there must be a solution!

I don't know about T6 and fire hammers... They don't have the utility of lightning hammers. They may deal more damage when it comes to elite packs, but man... The healing is just pathetic with them. I am struggling to stay alive on T6 with Iron Skin and with Laws of Valour - Invincible, whereas with lightning hammers I have no issues whatsoever.
Try Heaven's Fury - Blessed Ground with Holy Cause Passive :)

If I take out Finery + Holy Cause, the spec get's less effective by far. I want to gain a spec competetive to Fire Darklight and Shotgun.

I'm unsure if dropping Blunt would be the right way. If so, I could also take Lightning hammers and fish for more procs (which Kapsu already investigated in his thread with Schaefer's if I remember correctly). I don't think their damage is so trivial that 20% damage can be ignored. But I'll give it a try.

Still tuning for survivability. I tested with http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/crusader#eYQVPl!ZWSi!aaaYYa at the end. I'm not completely satisfied and miss consecration, so I have to test and optimize more.

Because of cindercoat I don't need Reaper's Wraps, so I took Strongarm Bracers and Shield Bearers for their effect.
With this spec I ride in front of a mob group, blind them, HF them for heal, maybe Shield Bearers for 30% damage (depends on mobs) and start hammering; without horse ready HF and walking in hammer range.

Ok...soloed T6 and will upload asap. Run took 12min cause of 2 silly deaths and too less yeehaw.

Used cindercoat for set chest and RoRG for Unity/Bul Kathos/Rogar. Steel Skin for Shield Bearer. Rift boss kill tactic was new for me and I improvised as you can clearly see. Was fun though :)

I did just one run with that setup, so I felt a bit like making my first steps.

I did some small testing with this today, but not enough to say anything for certain, but one thing I wonder is how do you survive T6 with this build without double Unity? Or do you?
I survived kind of fine with a variation of this, using Laws of Valour - Invincible instead of Critical as well as the passive Long Arm of the Law, although it was still a bit iffy and I considered taking Iron Skin - Steel Skin as well, instead of Phalanx.
100% correct. Soloed T6 and died a few times. My original build is too squishy.
Took Steel Skin for Shield Bearers and a Rogar's with LpS in Paragon, but I'm not satisfied with that. And I have a Xephirian Amulet for lightning mobs which helps really much. Main problem are reflect mobs, same as Darklight Fire.

A few downtimes at top of that,
    - Furnace is really difficult here, because you have to melee (while you can stay in range with FoH)
    - single target is awful, multi target is stunning beautiful (remembers me of Cpt.)
    - missile dampening (remembers me of Cpt. Pt. 2)

    Hi folks,

yesterday i played a bit with different gear and skills and found something ridiculous great working. To play this, you'll need Thunderfury, Akkhan 6 set bonus and 50%+ CDR, so it's more for already geared crusaders seeking alternative specs.

    Spec

This spec uses procs of Fire Starter and Thunderfury to bring a huge amount a damage to Diablo's minions. TF proc provides off and deff, just a great weapon.

How it looks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfpzAy5EGBQ (be prepared for fails)

--> skill calculator /edit: --> final spec (using Strongarm Bracers for Phalanx)

Blessed Hammer/Burning Wrath- main ability. Procs fire starter and thunderfury like crazy!
Akkarat's Champion/Fire Starter- you know this beast, nothing more to say.
Law of Valor/Critical- more attack speed = more hammer = more procs. Additionally, nice damage boost against elite.
Steed Charge/Nightmare- great escape and movement skill, procs both, Fire Starter and TF.
Consecration/Shattered Ground- provides offense (procs both) and defense.
Steel Skin/Iron Skin- great skill if you need more defense

    Optional skills

Of course, there are some alternatives depending on gear and personal preferences:

Shield Glare/Divine Verdict- great skill with the shield The Final Witness, offensive and defensive, but has a delay and Lidless Wall with fire damage is a better choice
Phalanx/Shield Bearers - if you can afford a slot; offensive (procs both) and defensive skill again. Note: Bowmen provide great damage, but don't proc anything!
Provoke/Charged Up (or Too Scared To Run) - if you need more wrath (I personally use my horse in that case to bring damage and regain wrath with Akarat's Champion in that 2 seconds)

    More optional

It should be possible to play that Spec with some variations as Cold or Holy as well (Cold -> hammer, consecration, Holy -> hammer, Heaven's Fury/Blessed Ground), but Fire Starter is fire damage obviously, so fire skills make more sense for me.

    Passives

Fervor: as we play 1H, Fervor is a must have passive. CDR and attack speed are both important and necessary.
Blunt: 20% damage for our main spender, also must have.
Finery: great damage boost, great choice.
    Holy Cause: same as Finery.

    Paragon Points

Core: same as usual, Movement Speed until 25% with gear, rest in strength
Offense:attack speed (more hammer = more procs) > cooldown reduction > cc/cd (1:10 or 50% cc then cd, as you like)
Defense: as you prefer, normally all resist > % life > armor > LpS
Utility: LoH (main heal stat!) > resource reduction (if you have no generator like Provoke) > area dmg

    Gear

    str = Strength
    ar = All Resistance
    vit = Vitality
    cdr = Cooldown Reduction
%ele dmg = % Elemental Damage of your choice
bh dmg = blessed hammer damage
    cc = cc
    ias = attack speed

    Shoulders: set (str/ar/vit/cdr)
Helm: set (str/vit/bh dmg/socket) -> cc if you are unsure, I think with enough cc bh dmg should be stronger /discuss
    Amulet: something with %fire damage/str/cc/cd
    Gloves: set (str/cc/cd/cdr)
Chest: set (str/ar/vit/sockets; optional Cindercoat [worked better for me])
    Bracers: Reaper's Wraps (str/%ele dmg/cc/ar or vit)
    Ring1: SoJ (str/% ele dmg/cdr)
    Waist: Harrington Waistguard (str/vit/ar/% life)
Ring2: Unity (str/cc/cdr; optional Bul Kathos [procs only Fire Starter, seems bugged and shouldn't proc anything?] / Ring of Royal Grandeur)
    Pants: set (str/vit/ar/sockets)
    Weapon: Thunderfury (str/cdr/socket)
    Boots: set (str/vit/ar/bh dmg)
    Shield: Lidless Wall (str/ias/%ele dmg/cc)

Finally: As I said at the beginning, I discovered this build just yesterday. Feel free to test and find better/other choices and let me know.

I think I just found something huge. Please check my profile http://eu.battle.net/d3/de/profile/olbaid-2634/hero/39004266

Key is getting TF + Fire Starter procs. It feels stronger than Fire FoH (played with 52% CDR and 2447 DPS Darklight before that). I got more procs with hammers than with FoH.
