The -20% is additive with %damage from passives and gear. Overall it's a damage buff unless you had no %damage anywhere. It could potentially be quite substantial (if you have infinite +% damage you are gaining the full 26% potential damage).

Worst case scenario we lost 2% damage. And that scenario is ridiculously uncommon.
    Quote from Bleu42

Yep. My fate of the fell went from 2600 dps, and 1.15m sheet dps, to 3200 weapon dps and 1.3m sheet.

    It's a buff for sure.

What ISN'T a buff, is trying to level and use a 2 hander. Same level weapons (one and two handers) don't have a big enough dps difference to offset the -20% dmg, so yea hopefully they fix that.
Thanks for your input, and that does make sense. I think I am getting a nice buff in the way this works.

The damage buff on weapons was 23-26%, and combined with the 20% damage reduction you will get either 98.4% resulting damage (23%) or 100.8% (26%). So either a very small nerf, or extremely negligible buff. Either way, the result should not be something that you feel. The change does not really make 2-Handers viable in many cases though, since you often give up on a large amount of main stat, other important stats, a socket, and possibly a legendary affix (Since most 2-handed legendary affixes are not directly twice as powerful as a one-handed legendary affix).
That is assuming a multiplicative calculation in that the -20% is a complete stand-alone modifier by itself. Or did you test it in the PTR (which is the purpose of my post BTW)? However, it is entirely possible that the -20% is additive with %damagefrom skill (Holy Cause, AC and Hellskull). In that case, it could end up as a pure buff in every scenario (23%-26%), albeit a negligible one.

But I will give you that it is going to be negligible either way.

In short, too much toughness/healing, not enough damage.

    1. Neck: nice Ouroboros, now get a CHD on it.

    2. Shoulder: Zombie dog% is close to pointless without TMF

    3. Bracer: Int/Vit/CC/Physical

    4. SoJ: Get physical%

    5. Weapon: SMK, Rhen'ho, Doombringer - in descending order of relative strength (and as it happens, rarity) for your build.

    6. RoRG: get some crit on it.

    7. Pants: get 2 sockets

    8. Boots: Currently, +armor is better than regen.

Supposedly the DPS for 2H saders should remain the same or get slight buffs, with the new HS in conjunction with 2H damage buff. However, I have seen people claiming that it could be a minor nerf depending on how the damage is calculated (unclear whether the 20% reduction is additive or multiplicative).

My question is, has anyone logged into the PTR and compared their sheet DPS with that on live? I think that might clear the air once for all.

    Thanks for any reply.

posted a message on Questions about Pet Doc and 2.1
    Hello everyone,
In anticipation of 2.1, I have been working on my pet doc recently, as most of my other builds might be a little “phased-out” in Great Rifts. And I have some interesting questions about how to make an efficient one in 2.1. Hopefully this thread will inspire some great discussion.

FA and FS are presumably compatible in 2.1, and I am wondering how to make them work together.

    0. How does the Enforcer interact with FS? I have not participated in PTR, but I guess FS still has that 60 secs timer.
1.FS and Hexing pants: How would you proc FS? Good-old-fashioned Plague of Toads should still do the trick, but would it be good to keep the hexing pants since you might need to stand still to proc FS (unless you are a huge fan of stutter step)? My guess is yes because you should still be able to keep moving for most of the time to get that 25% bonus, but I am not certain about it.
2.FS, SMK, and Zuni: “Traditional wisdom” dictates that SMK is always the way to go for that constant BBV, especially in a group. But with FA+FS, I am wondering if it is worth it to use Rhen’ho+Zuni in solo IF it procs FS faster (need input here).
3.TMF, RoRG, Aughild’s, and Strongarm: What would you prefer? Running TMF means you cannot have 3 pc Aughild’s and Strongarm at the same time, slipping in a RoRG means you can. Would you prefer a) TMF + 3pc Aughild’s b)TMF + 2pc Aughild’s + Strongarm c) RoRG + 3pc Aughild’s + Strongarm
Personally, I would go with a) to get some defensive bonus and because I think Strongarm does not work on all elites.
4.What would be your mojo of choice? The frog, the serpent, or maybe even the Homunculus (with Sacrifice for burst damage every 4 seconds)? My guess is that I will be stuck with the serpent to keep myself alive in Greater Rifts.
5.What are your recommendations on FS proc? Aside from Rain of Toads and Rhen’ho+Addling Toads of course.

    Thanks for any input.

posted a message on Questions about Shukrani’s
    Hello everyone,

I just got 2 Shukrani’s yesterday (one from drop and one from Kadala), and I have some questions about this peculiar item.
1.Is it just me that feels this item is somewhat an Easter egg to the “Heart of Lorkhan”?
2.How do you use it effectively? Currently, I cannot find a great use for it except for rare occasions in which I have to run across a rift thanks to some devious design that places the exit in an obscure corner.

    Thanks for any input.

When playing along with a good PP monk most of the time against normal mobs all you need is to focus on the marked mob, a single haunt + harvest clears the group after the push, you don't have to worry too much, any leftovers are dealt by the sustain dps'ers (in that case the DH/Barb).
You're there to melt down the elite packs/bosses anyway.

Look for the EP marker, Locust that, Haunt that, Harvest that, collect earnings :)
Thanks for the input. It is working great though things can still get ugly whenhordes ofmonsters cluster together after pull and it is hard for me to find the right click box. I wonder would you spend a little more time trying to find the mark or just spam a few haunts and hope for the best?

Currently,I just try my best to locate the palmed monster, and spam a few haunts and hope one of the "resentful spirits" find its way to the mark.

As for "collect earnings." I have to say that the frog is just golden in multiplayer. With much less concerns in survival, I can afford the luxury to use it to greatly increase the radius of GI and get all that gold after the carnage.

posted a message on Seeking advice on Jade full party play
    Hello everyone,

I am wondering if any Jade doc can share some insight about maintaining your composure during a full party play. My story is, I finally went into a full party T6 rift today and it was not as smooth as I thought.

Party members: EP monk, Jade, sentry DH, and frost EQ barb.

Although we did finish the rift in 6 mins, I am not sure I was contributing that much because I feel I had a lot of missed haunts, which does not happen when only grouping up with my IRL friend who uses EP monk and the screen is much cleaner. Essentially, I just cannot see the enemies clearly because there was just way too much excitement (frost, frost everywhere) and stuff flying around (Look, more CAs/multishots!), and I just completely lost my composure and started to randomly haunt/locust and harvest. I did specifically avoid firelight saders because I am pretty sure I will do almost 0 dps in that case, but I had not realized that sentry DH and frost EQ can be as bad for me to concentrate.

So I am wondering how I can improve my Jade play to be more efficient in a full party? I am aiming for that 4/5 mins mark.

Thanks for any input. Much appreciated.

    Quote from vidrith

Your paragon should go for armor and resistance first. If you have so much vitality on gear, try switching some of it for +life % and see if it boost your total health points some. But dont worry to much, Jade is all about running in killing and moving out with Spirit walk and other cool downs,

Imo a JD WD with ~350k HP ,~1mil dmg and +30% cool down reduction will do fine in T6, ofc perhaps not smooth but you will kill stuff before you fall asleep :P

Your weapon is VERY impotent too, to do good.
Thanks for the input. At P400, I just managed to fill up AR and armor, unfortunately. Only if I can just squeeze in some vit somewhere...

I guess for the moment I will first get familiarized with the build at T4 until I can get a serpent or play with my pull/palm friend (how imaginative, I know).

I think my weapon is OK? I got this Sunkeeper from my Wiz main (along with cold SoJ, "Quadfecta" countess, cold strongarm, and RoRG)

1158-1409 Holy damage +30% against elites. Only 672 Int though. Oh well, I just cannot have nice things can I?

286k is low, but you can get away with it as Jade WD, IF you pay attention and have TotD offhand to reach all those health globes. But that require you to switch from dogs (if you use them), as with barly 300k hp, 10% reduction is nothing from dogs, or LS ones if you use them.

I started as low hp Jade wd, around 430k atm and feeling godlike, I can still die easily if i slack on my movement/priority of Cds but that is something we learn with the spec/build.

So it matters what other gear and build choices you have made, hard to tell if ~700 vitality and some dps loss will help you with anything.
Thanks for replying, though where you stack all those vit? Or does that come from paragon?

Currently I have vit on shoulder, chest, bracer, belt, pants, boots and mojo, and I think anywhere else will gimp damage output.

Hello everyone, I just got another Jade pants and I was wondering which would be better for me. I am sitting on 286k life, and I am not sure how does that fare.

    1:

    Int/Vit(rerolled)/Armor/ 1 socket (very annoying)

    2.

Int/AR/Armor/skill damage (to be rerolled to 2 sockets)

Also, I accidentally get a 216% GF with my gear. I am wondering if it is worth it to replace Harrington's with Gold wrap. (I do not have a Hwoj, in case you are wondering)
