I worked as an IT Field Technician for a while, however I am now back in school to finish my Bachelors and hopefully I will be able to land a server administrator position after I graduate.

Sooooo... You're making this thread to complain that you will still complain when the game is released? I swear... you people.

I didn't make the thread to complain that I would still complain when the game came out. If it seemed that I was complaining than that was completely unintentional. I was just saying that from the point of view of someone who's been following Diablo 3 for a long time it will be unlikely that I would forget something like a delay in the development cycle and/or release date. That's all.

I think what he was going for was no one will remain angry about the push back if the game is great, if he was purely thinking people would forget it was pushed back, then I guess we all have alzheimers.

Good point, that makes a lot of sense. I didn't see it like that.

This is pretty random, but I was thinking about a Jay Wilson quote this afternoon. I remember him saying "No one will remember if it is late, only if it is great."

Now I would agree with him, but I still remember Half-Life 2 being over a year late. Granted Half-Life 2 was also a really great game, but I still clearly remember upgrading my computer with a Radeon 9800 Pro just for Half-Life 2 only to have it come out over a year later after it's first set in stone release date. It doesn't matter how great a game is in my opinion. If a great game is really late or has a super long development cycle people will still remember that.

Just to make it completely clear I am not complaining about Diablo 3 being late or anything like that. We've never been given any sort of release date, unless you count the November 2011 target release window they gave us. I am just taking a Jay Wilson quote and disagreeing with his sentiment on the matter.

posted a message on Will Blizzard make the first quarter release date?
I can last, game wise, until June.

    Final Fantasy XIII-2
    Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
    Mass Effect 3
    I Am Alive
    Prototype 2
The Secret World (There is not set release only April 2012)
    Max Payne 3

After Max Payne 3, which comes out in may, the next game I want in 2012 is Resident Evil 6 in late November. Now there are a ton of TBA 2012 games, but I am only going on ones that have relatively solid release dates. So I'm hoping Diablo 3 comes out between now and June/July at the latest. These are only hopes though.

I believe we won't get a release date until March at the earliest and June as the earliest possible release window.

With there being no Blizzcon this year, I am curious as to whether or not Blizzard will make any sort of appearance at PAX or E3.

IMO people should take this "interview" with a large grain of salt. To be honest, I'm tired of all the release date speculation. We're going to get a release date eventually, so just be patient and wait for it to happen.

posted a message on [Official] Release Date Speculation Thread
In my opinion the latest we're going to get a release date will be the end of March or the first week of April. That's assuming that they're going to try to release in the first half of 2012. I wonder if they want to release it in June for sentimental reasons?

I've decided to throw my hat into this challenge. Not shaving until D3 is released.
Take a pic every month or so, just to see how it 'leveled up'.

I will update once a month until Diablo 3 is released, and possibly even after lol!

Taking another look at these orbs, I'm wondering how these look when they're not completely full. Since they're all fully filled orbs, it looks exciting for the murky liquids to be spiraling and rotating.. But what happens when the orb isn't completely filled? If it's the same animation with the top cut off, that'd be disappointing(and odd looking). Then again, these orbs are supposed to go up and down quite often, so this would also probably be by far the simplest way to animate the orb liquids..

    Any thoughts?

I think the barb's will have a "boiling" effect when not full, the monk's looks like it has a smokey effect going on, I imagine the DH's will have a ripple of some kind, i wouldn't be surprised if the light/energy bits of the wiz's kept moving around even without the liquid in the area (almost like sparks coming off the surface), not sure what they'd do for mana, maybe a bigger/slower wave/ripple effect? perhaps it will have a concave/convex bend depending if mana is being spent or filling up?

I think it would be cool for the orbs to all have active physics inside, but that might be a little much.

I think they all look fantastic, but there is something about the DH orb that just isn't as appealing as the others. Maybe if I saw it in game I would feel different, but for right now it's my least favorite. I think the hatred side should have demon faces screaming every so often. If you've seen the giant wall of smoke chasing you in the FEAR 3 game mode "Fucking Run" then that's the kind of look I would want to go for but only on a smaller scale.

Hey all I decided to keep my beard growing instead of trimming until Diablo 3 comes out. @Diablo recently retweeted my Diableard so I figured I'd show you mine. I was wondering if anyone else was growing one?

I strongly suspect that the main thread has people making bull accounts to just get a better chance at a key. So I'm glad that you can check IPs otherwise they would get away with it.
