    Jesseth Arms 2-pieces set:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tawP_S2N2Lk

    (2) Set:
While your skeletons are commanded to attack a target, all of your minions deal 400% increased damage.
When the target of your Command Skeletons dies, your skeletons are automatically commanded to attack a nearby target.

Cast Command Skeleton once, skeletons automatically rush to mobs one by one until all nearby mobs are dead. What more important is as long as the Command Skeleton debuff is on, all your minions deal 400% more damage. Therefore, makes sure the debuff is on all the time, which is indicated by the bright light covering your skeletons.

posted a message on FYI, CoE only rotates 3 elements for Necro

In contrast to 4 elements for other classes (5 for monk).

For example, you can see in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uP8voRYxXTo

Which means higher average damage buff for necro! =)

    Ancient Wisdom of Kalan
    20% poison skill
    837 int
    6% attack speed
    770 armor

    186 cold resistance

increase max stack of bone armor by 5

Not the best ammy but at least it is ancient. :P
I am thinking either attack speed or armor to socket. Rerolling which one is better?

    Trag-Oul's Avatar set:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac8tjlIllas

    (2) Set:
Blood Rush gains the effect of every rune.
    (4) Set:
While at full Life, your healing from skills is added to your maximum Life for 45 seconds, up to 100% more.
    (6) Set:
Your Life-spending abilities deal 3300% increased damage but cost twice as much Life. Your healing from skills is increased by 100%.

2 pieces bonus improves Blood Rush, allowing it to increase armor, heal and create corpses at the same time, with 2 charges and does not cost health.

6 pieces bonus greatly buff the damage of your life-spending abilities (i.e. any skill runes that cost health to cast). However, costing twice as much Life do cause problem. Typical life-spending spenders cost 10% health. With the set, it is 20% health, so you can only cast 4 times successively which leaves you at 20% health! Therefore, you need several healing skills and use life-spending and healing skills intermittently. At least the healing from skills is also double.

4 pieces bonus basically double your maximum health with time. However, it is kind of counterproductive with the 6 set bonus because with higher maximum health, life-spending skills 20% cost means you are losing double amount of life for each cast. In my humble opinion it would make more sense by simply making it gives a 50% damage reduction likes most other sets 4 pieces bonus.

    Grace of Inarius set:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPRJFQUMGqE

    (2) Set:
Bone Armor damage is increased by 1000%.
    (4) Set:
Bone Armor grants an additional 2% damage reduction per enemy hit.
    (6) Set:
Bone Armor also activates a swirling tornado of bone, damaging nearby enemies for 750% weapon damage and increasing the damage they take from the Necromancer by 2750%.

This set is a melee set and currently the most powerful Necromancer set. The 2 pieces bonus does decent damage. Therefore, use Bone Armor whenever you can. 4 pieces bonus increases 10 stacks Bone Armor damage reduction from 30% normally to 50%. (With Wisdom of Kalan amulet you can have 15 stacks Bone Armor, further increase the damage reduction to 75%.)

6 pieces bonus greatly increases damage to mobs within the tornado around you. Therefore, you need to stay close to the mobs to benefit from the set bonus. It does not limit which skills you use for damage, so you can have different builds with this set.

Will CRs be unlocked at the start of the season? Before 70?

    BTW

You can probably play CRs at the start of the season no different. Just not sure if the mats can be given to your seasonal characters.

So... I came back from travel and started a bit late, and the time was already around 2 minutes for the top spots. I have no idea how you get there. And with such a flawed class/skill set which is even worse than the "play your way", I had no desire to do more than 2-3 runs (and could immediately tell that even with 100 runs I wouldn't beat Wudijo's current #1, not even sure I could get into top 100).

I hope that some of the winners share videos (and/or some of the thought process) that got them to the top spot, because I feel I totally missed something. It's obvious though that CRs are a playing ground in which the usual "gear, paragon, RNG" cop-out doesn't count anymore: #1 in a CR week simply means you're a better player (I find it ridiculous that many people still believe there's no room for "skill" in this game; CRs can disprove that).

For me personally CRs will probably just be a weekly income of bounty mats (and also some nice crafting mats). I hate bounties, so that's a nice bonus. I don't think I'm gonna try to be competitive, ever, unless there's a really fun build out for a week. I noticed there's 2p/3p/4p leaderboards as well; I wished they would choose real 2p/3p/4p groups here. As someone said, it might be fun to have the top clear as CR, which would show people that clearing that GR125 is not just about gear, paragon, and RNG... but that it actually requires a ton of skill, coordination, and game knowledge.

Agree that, despite the terrible build picked, Challenge Rifts prove that player's skill does matter. Just looking at the finish time, obviously I am not good at playing DH comparing with the top players. LoL (My main is WD.)

    My thoughts:

    1. Build should be old top build, new top build without augments/ancients, Some well thought middle range build, fast farming build or fast gem leveling build. There should be plenty of those to choose from. (Current top10 builds are poor choice because there very few players who can beat those times even with the map awareness. Maybe top100 or top1000 people can beat.)

    2. You should be able to play any class you want and you get one reward box on each. There is 7 classes now so you can focus to one each day and repeat it during the next week.

Current challenge is very poor system and build. It isn't alternative to bounties now like it should be.

Sounds good but may not be practical. They are probably letting the computer to pick the builds randomly. Computer does not know what is old build / fast farming build / fast gem leveling build. =/

And i do not understand how they were not able to even make the first challenge rift a bit more interesting. I think they make the builds upon some automatic algorith?!. But still... . Also it would have been smarter to make the first challenge rift a necro run with an almost viable build to help the noobs

Indeed, they should choose a better build to give the first Challenge Rift a good start. Unfortunately, it seems that they simply left the job to RNG and this is what we got. =/

Though it would not be necro for the first week, as the build is supposed to copy from the real play base, so you cannot have necro build before people start playing necro. :P

Anyway, it is very likely that we will see necro in the coming few week to lure people who have not yet buy necro patch. Just hope it will not be as terrible as the DH builds.

[edit] Think again, if they really randomly pick some necro from the whole player base without thinking, the challenge rifts next week will probably be someone in rare gear mostly doing level 20 greater rift..... O_O

Rathma set and Circle of Nailuj's Evol (start from 2:00) in action:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nT-0FuvhDgw

    (2) Set:
Your minions have a chance to reduce the cooldown of Army of the Dead by 1 second each time they deal damage.
    (4) Set:
You gain 1% damage reduction for 15 seconds each time one of your minions deal damage. Max 50 stacks.
    (6) Set:
Each active Skeletal Mage increases the damage of your minions and Army of the Dead by 250%.With 2 pieces bonus and a lot of minions, the cooldown of Army of the Dead is significantly reduced. 50 stacks of 4 pieces bonus damage reduction can also be gathered very fast by your minions and you do not even need to think about it.
The tricky part is the 6 pieces bonus, which is the main source of power of the set. You need to pump as many Skeleton Mages out as possible, and do it fast. Without synergy from other gear, you may have 8 Skeleton Mages out at best before they start despawning, plus it take time to get this number and is hard to maintain.

Therefore, using the set with Circle of Nailuj's Evol is suggested, which gives you:
"You now raise an additional Skeletal Mage with each cast and they last an additional 2–4 seconds."
With this, you can pump out 10 Skeletal Mages (the maximum you can have) quickly and maintain it afterward easily.

It's actually way worse than expected. They showcase builds, which don't make any sense. For example, why would you put a 160 dex gem into a ring? Most of the items are not rerolled either. Rerolled items were rolled wrong in most of the cases. This may mislead new players and inexperienced players.

"They" don't put or choose anything. What you see is a rift cleared by an actual player using the particular build and items.
People have been asking for a feature that they could measure "skill", meaning you get same gear and rift, and now that they got it, they realize it's not all that fun unless there are some significant rewards attached to it.

This is probably that reason why such a terrible build is picked. Probably a significant proportion, if not most, of the D3 players are terrible. We who actually read guides and forums to min-max our builds are the minority. Therefore, if the builds are chosen randomly, high chance is that bad builds are picked.

If the devs wanted people to do this more than once a week they could have:

    a) give a reward each time you set a personal best (that beat the timer). Since you have to beat your own best time there is diminishing rewards.

    B) have multiple challenge rifts available at the same time -- one for each class, each lasting a week, each changing on a different day of the week. This turns them into daily events, but doesn't punish the person who only plays a couple time a week.

Support a) . Blizz really needs to add this kind of incentive for people to play this mode more than once a week.

    1) There is no incentive to create competition.

    2) As far as "new builds" goes, it's more like an old build with mistakes in gearing/talents.

Totally agreed with 2). the US server DH build is really bad. I was thinking what the hell with the build having that Fan of knives dagger cubed without Fan of knives on the bar. O_O

Never tried (or looked it up), but do we get a chest of mats each attempt?

Just checked and nope, just the 8 mats. Kind of cool, but also kind of a one off for me I think
Expected. Otherwise it would be too easy for mat gathering. :P
