Raekor is definitely best with Physical right now.

IK doesn't really matter at all. I don't depend on COTA for damage really since the AI on the ancients is horrible. I just want my Fury.

Earth set Fire is by far the best. Ice if you want to be ridiculously defensive (no point).

IK is generally better for WW with lightning.

Look at my builds. Gnada is a Raekors WW build with physical. The only other option is fire, which isn't as good IMO.

Hork is currently a lightning WW build (changes to Fire HOTA often though). You want 4pc IK with lightning and elite damage stack. If you can get Hexing pants and do nothing but WW, that works very good.

Been using Raekors and a Physical Stack to solo T6 Rifts (15 minute clear) and mostly T6 Bounties (for gold) pretty efficiently . You can view "Gnada's" build in my profile link below.

Need around 15 million toughness to make this work without the Unity - Immortal Follower "feature". Less of course if you are going that route. Ess of Johan of the follower helps a lot.

Reapers Wraps and Swords to Plowshares help a lot to overcome the single target damage output.

I've also stacked 71% bonus damage to elites, which is the real saving grace. Layering in physical damage with Furious Charge, Rend, Run Like the Wind, and WW adds up fast. Seeing WW tick for 5 million damage on elites if funny. Not as good as some other options for T6 grouping or soloing, but it's what I've got, so I'm using it.

Mixing up my "farming" quite a bit right now to try to keep the game fresh while I hunt for my last Piece of Leapquake (Earth shoulders or pants).

Do not waste your time doing Rifts to level "quickly". Rifts are inconsistent and inferior to Bounties.

If you want to level quickly, do T6 Bounties.

Bounties like "clear the Hell Rift" give a large amount of Exp and Gold.

This is exactly why Alkaizer is running these types of bounties to achieve his goal of Paragon 800.

Most of the bounties that fall under the "kills all mobs on LvL 2" are the ones you want.

Note that as you approve LVL 70, T6 becomes less efficiency, lower the difficulty accordingly.

If you are powerleveling, the lower level character should make the game and the LvL 70 powerleveler joins. The game should be remade periodically to increase the mob level accordingly.

I'm an active participant in this idea. Please feel free to msg me in game if you're up for runs. Profile in signature below.

I have lvl 70 pieces of everything except (ranked by priority):

    1) Earth Shoulders

    2) Earth Pants

    3) Rakeors Pants

    4) Immortal Kings Helm

    5) Immortal King Boulder Breaker

I really only want 1 & 2 and have already given another barb Raekors Pants and Gloves (gotta build up that good Karma!) :)

Posted on the Blizzard Barb forums. The KB is causing problems in groups. Mostly just pubs, but it really annoys other players and our abilities shouldn't be negatively impacting the gameplay experience of others. If you agree, please weigh in.

posted a message on Raekors: A Closer Look
The Raekors set has two significant issues:

    1) Furious Charge is still buggy and clumsy. It's very easy to go no where with a charge due to pathing issues (the ability should path around things as best it can rather than doing nothing). The slight delay due to the animation at the end interrupts seamless and cohesive gameplay as well. Blizzard should tidy up this ability and that would help a lot.

    2) Raekors is an inherently weak set compared to IK and Earth against single targets. Why? Because Furious Charge is very weak against single targets. Fury generation falls significantly.

    Where Raekors excels:

High speed, consistent 4+ target combat where charging up to 200 fury quickly and dumping a Boulder while stacking physical damage (and maybe a 300th Spear) make a lot of sense. Example: clearing a rift up to the guardian. It is possible (using the IK Boulder Breaker and RoRG) to combine both sets, which could be quite good as a modification to over come this at the rift guardian. Not tested as I have not looted a BB to date.

Not as good, but Seismic and HoTA work okay instead of Boulder Toss. In my observation, the Raekors set is by far most effective with a Charge - Boulder Toss - Charge - Boulder Toss type combo though.

A clanmate has good success using this with WW - Dust Devils on a smaller number of targets, but its still no where near as effective as IK with Ancients Fury at sustainable fighting (Rift Guardians).

Regardless, 200 million boulder crits are hilariously fun.

    @leland

Clearing T5 rifts without issue defensively and clearing them quickly and efficiently are two very different things that should be distinguished when discussing build strength. Huge congrats on the elusive 4pc Earth set! Awesome stuff!

The difference in Earthquake runes from 2600% lightning and 4600% fire alone is enormous. Do you think that the Fury cost savings vs the damage reduction are worth it? Furthermore, do you think that your damage output would not be greater with HoTA Thunderstrike and use of the Earthen Might passive for nearly endless Fury? Obviously, fire excels in this mode with Cindercoat, but even without seems like HoTA would be a major DPS boost. Most people with your gear don't use primary generators any longer.

posted a message on Just feel completely lost with my barb

So I have been doing research in what to do with my barb, but I feel like the more I tinker with each part of him the worse he is getting. I really had no clue about diablo end game and what a characters gear should look like, so after some of the information I found I just thought I would go with a Lightning WW build and just stack CHD and CC with Lightning dmg. I plan to just use it for t1 and t2 speed farming for fire gear http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/DopeSauce-1433/hero/45081448 this is what I have so far. I know I need upgrades but is the general idea of stacking CHD, CC and str on the ammy, gloves, rings, weapons, and wrists a good strategy? I can do t1s but relatively slowly and I feel too squishy. I often times die a lot to elites and the boss. I also feel like I lack damage. Lastly, with my skills I do not really have a general idea on how to arrange or choose them. So really any help would be great.
Seems like you have some things a little backwards.

Lightning is currently only really good for farming low difficulty levels compared to the alternatives. This is because lighting skills promotes speed and disable, but not particularly high damage.

Fire and Physical, on the other hand, are more focused on high Fury cost and very high damage--therefore end game (I hope this balances a bit).

Until you have 5pc Raekors or 4pc IK, or 4pc Earth you will struggle to keep up with the high Fury costs of abilities like HotA, Seismic Slam, support Boulder Toss, etc. Yet, these are the abilities you want to use to efficiently farm T4+.

Fire has a big benefit in having some of the highest damaging abilities (Smash and Seismic) AND Cindercoat.

Physical has a big benefit in incredible damage layer (rend + other damage source + sprint dmg) plus Boulder Toss when you have the fury gen to effectively use it.

In terms of lightning, the lower damage Thunderstrike is somewhat redeemed by the stun and good proc rate of Shard of Hate, and of course the most sustainable WW rune in Wind Shear, but both are far less damaging than the fire and physical alternatives.

As Alkaizer proved at RoS Launch, farming with Run like the Wind, Rend - Bloodbath, Battle Rage - Bloodshed, and WW - Wind Shear is by far the fastest and most effective at T1 (where anyone should be farming until very very well geared). Pair that with 4PC IK - COTA Ancients Fury or Cooldown reduction Wrath of the Berserker and you're pretty potent. That said, the Shard of Hate nerf really hit WW builds damage output hard, so this isn't as effective as before. I still use it for fun in T1 farming runs, but Fire and Physical are definitely stronger for T4+ right now.

Example for T4/T5 (ignore nemesis bracer... left on after run... normally use %fire reapers wraps):

Unless you are just extremely unlucky, or very casual/RPing, there is no good reason to use lightning at all in my experience.

Physical and Fire are both superior in terms of abilities and gearing options.

4pc IK + Ancients Fury + Physical Stack + Physical Seismic/HOTA or Spear is gross.

5pc Raekors + any number of abilities and a Fire or Physical stack is gross.

4pc IK + Fire stack + HOTA stack + Smash hitting for 25-50million is gross.

Fire strack + 4pc Earthquake + Lut Socks is gross.

    Lightning... not so impressive.

SOH + Frenzy is static, slow, and unimpressive compared to the above.

SOH + Thunderstrike is okay, but nothing great in my testing.

Odyn's Son doesn't "fix" lightning, nor do any combination of abilities I've tested. If there was a Cindercoat equivalent and some of the lightning abilities were brought in line with physical and fire options in terms of damage, sure. Until thing, lightning is only good for clearly weak difficulties for your damage output (Normal - T1/2 farming).

posted a message on Fire Build is viable?
While Fire is viable up to a certain point, I have some concerns with its scalability. I played Fire Crusader up to around T3 and then switched away entirely once I attained the 4pc Akkhan's bonus.

The idea that a 1 million sheet+fire/lite DPS Fire Damage build is more effective in a real-world play through of a Rift or Bounty than 500k sheet+holy/elite/CDR build is somewhat misleading. The "top of Diabloprogress" examples are not really helpful. People stack those stats for bragging rights more than playability.

    A few things to consider:

4-6 piece Akkhan's set bonus heavily favors a holy build, particularly with Condemn+Blade of Prophecy such as:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/crusader#kQVidR!aeSV!abYZYY

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Gnada-1471/hero/43770461

The benefit of this build is that it allows the Crusader to spam our most damaging and disabling abilities repeatedly. This creates scenarios of rapid burst damage and disruption which are highly effective at the higher torments.

Here's the Fire Build I typically use. Changes sometimes based on activity or mood:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/crusader#SQVYdR!aeSV!ZbYaYY

Falling Sword can be fun too!

    Disadvantages to Fire:

    • Fire build is very much about positioning. Repositioning the chain inherently lowers burst damage output (already lower with the Fire Builds to begin with) and therefore the DPS that matters most. Efficient rift runs involving killing elites in ~3 seconds and repeating that cycle every 10 seconds or so for maximum drops per hour. Fire doesn't even come close to the burst damage of a Divine Well+Condemn build in that regard.
    • Maximus proc Demon is subject to premature death issue currently (per my last testing in T4/5) in some scenarios
    • Subject to weak healing with per Wrath spent in some configurations, but this can be overcome
    • Limited to a single 2h weapon or 2 (arguably non-viable) 1h options
    Advantages to Fire:

    • Excellent and easy T1-T3/4 viable DPS while gathering Akkhan's set
    • Several viable primary damage dealing options (with and without an actual "primary" wrath generator)
    • Fun and unique play style and looks cool
    • Some item's can be reused on a Barbarian for it's strongest build (Earthquake+Leap)
    • Cindercoat's 30% resource cost reduction is game-changing. Has very solid sustain over long fights. Very few moments of downtime.
    • Lots of +Fire gear is available and nearly all of it is high quality
    • Can solo in T5/6 without Akkhan's set with enough toughness and skill
Overall, with the right gear, I've found Holy Condemn+Divine Well to be stronger, but Fire is a great way to mix it up and scale up before then. Hope that helps. Happy to answer any questions you have based on my experiences as I approach Paragon 400.
