Don't over-think this too much. Leapquake is really easy and fun--even at high torments.

Sunkeeper is VERY good good due to the up to %30 Elite damage and slow atk speed + high damage.

Shields are also an option if you can get good rolls and really need the defense. We should petition Blizzard to allow non-Crusader shields to roll CDR and 30-50 crit damage or something. That would make them a lot more viable.

I'm currently soloing T6 with ease using Unity. I need to get my +Health Globes, +Life per Kill up and also find a way to get my CDR up (probably dropping Strength somewhere eventually).

Leapquake is way more fun to play with 30-40% CDR.

I still think that if you want Frostburn gloves, you have a FAR greater chance of getting them via Kadala vs. killing elites or opening chest though, right?

That's the problem I feel... I don' think that is exaggerated, we are talking about 0.8% change in your experience vs 4% change in mine (roughly) as the difference.

Use Seismic Slam. It is absolutely awesome now. Stack up some Max Fury items and Paragon and go to town.

The Unforgiven passive is amazing now and Animosity synergizes very well with it. Superstition gives you much needed defense and Fury gen. This helps to quickly push you into a No Primary Attack build, which is optimal.

Rampage is a very good passive as well. If I was starting fresh in RoS I would use a build like this:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WekRPU!iWhe!cZZbZY

    WHY:

Frenzy or Bash for quick Fury recharge when starved. Try to stack an element and synergize with Seismic rune . Fire is a good goal right now.

Seismic Slam is the best Fury dump we have now. Fire has a CC knockup + very high damage.

Warcry - Charge for added Toughness and a quick Fury gain. Switch to Impunity if your All Resist is below 500 or so.

Battle Rage - Bloodshed for dmg or Swords to Plowshares for healing (and Fury regen if you have Reapers Wraps -- should craft some ASAP)

Wrath of the Berserker - obvious, but replace with Call of the Ancients - Ancients Fury once you have 4pc Immortal Kings set bonus

Sprint - Gangway is a knockback which triggers Strongarm Bracers. It is also brilliant for moving through small mobs and breaking objects for extra gold and loot.

    GOALS:

    • Obtain 4 pc Immortal Kings, 4pc Earth sets
    • Replace Frenzy with Seismic Slam as your Primary attack and add Avalanche - Volcano (assuming Fire build)
    • Hit 80%+ elemental damage (80%+ fire or physical is the most damaging right now)
    • Get Bracers! Reapers Wraps (Malthael drops - crafted), Strongarm Bracers (gamble from Kadala), Warzechian Armguards (gamble), Trag'Oul Coils (gamble), Nemesis Bracers (gamble). Details here: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/bracers/#type=legendary
    • Get Belts! Chilaniks Chain (Might Belt gamble), Harrington Waistguard (Belt gamble). Details here: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/belt/
Whirlwind is now much weaker than it was at launch. Its only advantage is speed a low torment levels. You can move as fast with Seismic with the correct build and do more damage (and arguably have more fun).

Completely a personal play style thing, but the days of WW ballerina gameplay are limited.

Leapquake barb is 100% okay. Its on par with the other builds, I have 0 Fury issues, and it offers a LOT of gear flexibility that 5pc Raekors does not (and different slots than IK which is excellent).

I don't find the animation change particularly annoying, but that's probably because I have played 90% of my time as a male barbarian.

Reroll Vit to Cooldown Reduction (10).

CDR is really the most powerful stat most builds can have. Any place you can have CDR and not interfere with CC and CD, you probably want it unless your build is completely lacking in cooldown dependencies.

Leap, Warcry (for Fury), Overpower, CotA, Wrath, Earthquake, etc all benefit greatly from CDR. If you can hit 35-50% CDR, your build will be significantly more effective.

posted a message on D3 2.05 & the Loot Meta Game -- Is it off?
Does anyone else feel like the meta game for D3 is now as follows: get Blood Shards as quickly as possible to target the loot you get from Kadala?

    My experience so far:

    • Farmed 500 blood shards in T3 rifts. Got 0 useful loot while doing so (maybe 2 souls total).
    • Went to Kadala, rolled Pants.
    • Got 3x legendary pants -- Hammer Jammers, Blackthorne's, and Earth set pants (which had eluded my Barbarian for over 1000 legendary drops since RoS launch and maybe 500 hours of gameplay).
    • So I completed my 3pc Earth set in almost no time and begin Leapquaking with glee.
Since then, I have in the last 2 days received: Raekor's Pants (also was missing these), Earth Pants again, and two Earth shoulders back to back with nearly identical stat rolls and the exact same primary stats (nice "RNG").

And still, 0 meaningful loot has dropped from a Chest or Elite Pack or Rift Guardian.

Should the game be more about gambling for loot than killing monsters for loot? To me, the balance feels dreadfully off and has since launch. The legendary drop rate should be higher for killing elite packs and even normal mobs perhaps. Weapon/Armor racks should produce legendary drops (maybe even a special rack should spawn signifying one's luck). Treasure goblins should also drop more legendaries.

Kadala gambling feels far too little like gambling, and far too much like a sure way to target the loot you want right now.

posted a message on new EQ-leap build: thoughts?
I'm having absolutely no Fury (~190 Fury Pool) problems with my build using Unforgiving, Animosity/Superstition, and Warcry - Impunity.

Seismic Slam is insane now, so a big Fury pool is nearly a must have.

If i am correct the weapon dmg on your neck is useless for you, because your weapons are with arcane/fire dmg and you need black dmg(not sure if they changed this in ros).

To farm t6 just gamble one more unity from kadala instead of soj and if you are using smash a lot put your paragon points to get 50 more fury and maybe use inspire on your templar.Don't use invigorate,if you need fury take charge or take impunity and change your gems to str.
No, it isn't useless. It's just not as good as some other option. It stacks as though it was adding that value to your overall weapon damage.

    1) Just balance out 10:1 Crit Dmg and Crit (500 CD, 50 CC) Change the best you can. You'll get some crit change from your abilities, a little more weight on CD is fine.

    2) This is wear ice starts to falter. Seismic Slam is a very good ability, but its 10 fury more than HotA. Are you maxing your Fury with paragon? A bigger Fury pool (200) goes a long way to making Seismic a reality. You could add IK Chest, Belt, and Gloves if you have the Earth Shoulders. You could also run Unforgiven as a passive (especially if you use IK with Earth set).

    3) Yes, it should proc the weapon without issue.

Overall, you're doing fine. Just have to accept that Cold is going to be "less efficient" than Fire until Blizzard balances things out.

Attack Speed isn't "bad" per say, its just that some abilities don't take advantage of it, and some that do actual are less effective under some scenarios.

Think of it this way, would you rather hit 1 MASSIVE HotA per second, or 2 smaller ones? Weigh the positives and negatives:

Faster = more incoming healing if you use Life on Hit or Life per Fury Spent

Slow = better fury management and if another logical stat replaces Fury, generally bigger damage per hit

Lastly, think about what you could have instead of Attack Speed.

    1) Cooldown reduction: This is pretty huge for any number of reasons

    2) Toughness: may or may not be needed (generally All Resist is better than Vit unless you are sub-300/350k HP or so.

CDR is generally your best option since it is hard to fit into most builds and very valuable to many builds. The nice thing is that you have gloves with give you the option!

Where do I go from here? How can I improve my dps and survivability?
Don't be so worried about progressing in Torment difficulty right now. Focus on your efficiency and getting as many legendary drops per hour as you can. That's the real key to progression.

You have one really good thing going for you and that is a really nice pair of Hexing Pants you can use with Leapquake build, Raekors Charge builds or a pure WW build.

In my experience, you should take advantage of those by speed farming with WW+Rend only through T1 or T2 until you get at least 4pc Immortal Kings, of not 4pc Earth sets. You should be able to complete T1 or 2 rifts in about 3-5 minutes. That frequency of loot chances equates to a lot of legendary drops per hour.

    1. Frenzy is bad with Hexing Pants because you're standing still with Frenzy and therefore losing damage. Same with Seismic Slam, though you can studder-step and beat the Hexing Pants debuff if you're quick for 1 Slam only. Drop those two abilities from your build or use another pair of pants if you want to keep the stationary abilities.

    2) COTA - Ancients Fury is very good for sustained Fury. You might be able to use Boon of Bulkathos and some CDR to make this work without 4PC IK. In my WW build, COTA this is my primary attack due to lack of bar space -- http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#jhkRPU!jShe!YYZcbZ -- but I'm using 4 PC IK with Lightning for extra damage and limitless Fury.

    3) Use Unforgiving. It is awesome, especially with 3pc IK.

    4) I use War Cry because I have a Chilanik's Chain (more speed). If you don't have one, then you can use another ability unless you need the Fury. You could use Rend instead if you have excellent Fury management.

    Hope that helps!

Put each amulet on and note your sheet damage.

Then with the Fire Dmg amulet on, note what that damage is + 14% (fire). You can large decide based on this.

Keep in mind STR also gives armor, some mobs resist fire, not all your attacked may be fire based, etc.

Seems like you are making smart choices and have a good build going!

Replace the Telranden's Hand in your mainhand ASAP. Devastator and Sunkeeper are much better.

You might get better use out of another stat than Atk Speed on your gloves if you are using Furious Charge or plan to transition to Leapquake.
