Sankis is the best weapon here, ideally you would craft an even mediocre devastator but if you don't have the plan...really a toss up between best dps and odyn sons proc.
I can suggest dropping WW and go for HOTA aswell, damage is so poor on WW that it really isn't viable unless you want to stay in t1-t2

I still think the Devastator/Axe of Sankis combo is far better on Barbs and monks. Crusader obviously it's BIS if you're fire.
The biggest problem for me with 2h's is the sockets. Give them two sockets and you'll see them becoming competitive choices. Especially for PvP when that comse around.
The crusader issue is tricky but currently the sockets is what makes the comparison a joke.

literally everything you said I agree with and everything I've said is correct.
IAS preforms poorly compared to straight damage especially when on the move although it does have some benefit.
I'd love to hear the other poster try to refute anything, calling him out right now.

I think the assumption that IAS doesn't help you "run and gun" comes from an MMO mindset.
In Diablo, increasing your attack speed reduces the animation frames in even one attack, allowing you to kite or move and fire more quickly.
In a game like WoW, where you can move and attack simultaneously, haste doesn't impact your ability to kite or move, really.
These point alone are much more tangible and shine compared to any kind of movement benefit given by IAS.
Would you rather your 1500% weapon damage meteor cast in a a couple frames faster or crit 30% harder?
While being careful not to bring myself to your level I'd like to wager that I've played more Diablo than both of you combined in my life, while I did play WoW for a small amount of time relative to Diablo I certainly don't have a "mmo mindset"

I'd love to hear why you think it would though.
"AS has the *most* benefit in high movement situations, specifically rifts" Wrong, infact the exact opposite is true, IAS will preform best when zero movement is allowed. If you are moving IAS has no effect, unlike straight dps (CC/Crit Damage)

With that said I think the game could survive indefinitely with just a ladder system and no pvp aspects beyond what we have already.
Really PvP right now is no different than what we had in D2, game size is the biggest difference that comes to mind.
There are plenty of PvP focused runes already in specific elements, theres just NO incentive currently and the actual gameplay sucks.

They relate to each other in a very simple way, even more so if graphed.
The reason why CC/CritD% are far better stats is because they SYNERGIZE meaning the two combined are more effective than the sum of their parts.
IAS scales LINEARLY compared to CC/CritD% which would not.
Interesting example of this would be the split between ideal CC/Crit% amounts. 1% crit and 100% CCD% is LESS effective than a more balanced approach.
TLDR: While IAS -SCALES- with DPS where CC/CritD% -SYNERGIZE- with eachother resulting in a huge dps benefit.
IAS also has a intangible & interesting effect with many resource neutral or generating abilities but thats not here nor there and is tough to evaluate unless we are on a build by build basis.
I want to also note that the benefit IAS gives isn't all that impressive when you are slamming rifts in groups and constantly clicking and moving, meaning you aren't getting the benefit of having a smaller downtime between attacks.
Edit: To other people who understand the mathematical relationship between the stats: The answer to the threads question is YES. But only in a very specific character sheet state that has pretty bad gear. CC/ChD% will quickly outclass IAS after you move past this breakpoint.

4. A properly geared and spec'd firebarbs whirlwind isn't mana intensive at all, I don't even run a generator with IK set bonus'
