Yes, In-geon is about speed frarms, not for a long run. To NS players, i think Azurewrath is a good option to replace Lions Claw, as it gives Cold% dmg and will have a good legendary affix. And to fire builds, Sankis axe will bis... But Lions will do more dmg in seasons, of couse. 7 more attacks from SSS is 7 more explosions to palm anyway... Lets see...

    1) (Dwarf) Berserker - bringing back proper dual wield combat/equipment systems focusing on fast attacks, but also possibility of going into a 2handed death machine, kinda like Gotrek from Warhammer books. They could use runic weapons like axes designed just for them. Maybe a trip down memory lane with dual 2handers enabled? :) A character that could utilize vitality as it's main stat, however str would also be good.
    2) Alchemist - (...)
    3) Engineer (...)
    4) Rogue - a melee oriented class utilizing poison and crits in a great way. Special daggers only for that class? I know monks are already fast and demon hunters kinda have the shadowy act about them but i feel like poison is a greatly underrated element that sticks only to witch doctors atm.
    5) Druid / Necro / Amazon would be great too even in their old form from D2, fingers crossed :)

Overall i have many ideas and thoughts on that subject but i do think Blizzard rushed Diablo 3's release too much and packed the current classes with all kinds of things that aren't used to their full potential. I believe that even with a rework of the current classes u could bring twice as many classes with their own skillsets while still not breaking the ones we love atm. (...)

Yes, I think we all miss the Necromancer. WD is cool, but they did wrong in turn it into a necromancer substitute for D3. It has a potential to be a cool character indeed...

About the classes, i think you are thinking too much in a WoW mode. The berserker (besides the dwarf part, as doesn't exist dwarfs in Sanctuary) is basically a barbarian with 2 swords, as many are doing now with Bulkathos. Alchemist and Enginering would be great chars, in a MMORPG, where you would have time to craft some genial weps and potions, but at Diablo games, time is a factor hard to think about yet. Maybe at Diablo 4...

The rogue seems to be a very viable class, indeed. Something like the Assasin from D2 with the ability to become invisible to all and stab from shadows. Daggers, as spears, are very underestimated by players, just because they really don't offer a good option to play with most of time (and i'm not talking about the WD's ceremonial daggers).

Someone talked about a Mesmerizer, but with the new rules about CC, it would be just a joke to play with. A 100% CC oriented class will not compete at all with new rules coming in soon. But i would love to play with it. To me, best mages at RPG games are Seers and Enchanters.

A blood magus, stealing life from foes, creating blood golens and blood traps, and (most of all) with corpse explosion similar spell would be so great!!! Instead of firebolls, meteor, etc, it could have blood spells (phisical), roten (poison), infernal (fire) and celestial (sacred) as main dmg dealers. Conjure blood avatar would be their pet spell (as every class has its own). Runes would change the kind of avatar you can call for. Demon skin and Demon Hide sets could be reshaped to be a class especific set. Tyrael's might and Fire walkers too. Many possibilities.

Edit: Off-hand to blood magus would be something like Angel's feather, Demon tooth, Shard of Soulstone, Blood drop of Andariel/Duriel/Azmodan/Baal/Mephisto...

CDR is insanely valuable if you play with fire EP which you will do for pushing GR, at least if they don't change (or maybe fix - don't know if it works as intended) it.

It makes the stacking way easier if you got 2.5 sec cd so you got 0.5 sec to sss again and if you've got a cd >3 sec you can't play fire EP, also it still is really strong for DMG too because you literally do 0 DMG while not in SSS.

EDIT: Ok they will hotfix (assumingly nerf) fire ep, but i would still say 2x 1h > 2h because of the 10% extra cdr

Sure 2x 1h will be the main build use by everyone, but until you find an FoAzt most of new monk players will develop new ways to use U6. FoE + In-geon (cube), In-geon + Roars/Azurewrath + FoE (cube), etc. In all ways, FoAzt and FoE seems to be the base to the build, and everyone will need it to push grifts. More than Lions Claw, these two weps are the main option for the build.

In the new season with its buffs to characters in general via the cube and else you will get to 800 paragon in roughly two weeks, if you play just a few hours a day and play in groups.

Why strugle to go from 0 to 900+ .. when I can play with my 800 NS char ? :)

Why ruin the patch in not even half the time by starting straight at the top. With high paragon and good gear ? No struggle to get gear and hardly any chance to be happy about upgrades. Because they hardly ever drop.

Patch is fun so much longer if you start it fresh. Not at the end of progression curve

Sorry, but IMO PTR isn't to "start fresh" or play along at all. It's a test realm.

Most of important things to test are at end game mechanics, and most of players will not pass more than 5h leveling to 70. Devs put PTR to us help with game testing of sinergies, set builds, program insues that may interefere with game play, not to have a fun time. Live is for that, indeed. We'd never know about paragon 2000+ xp problem with this kind of though, what would mess with next season. Neither do about grift bug at season 3 too... PTR is for test, not for fun. We just must have it in mind when logging there, or there will be ever a +8h waiting time for most real testing players...

@lamack You're not able to start or enter GR until you're lvl 70. Anyway playing GR1 is same as playing regular rift at normal diff with only difference you only get drop from RG.

I know, it was just an imaginary scenario of pregression/leveling all trough grifts. all because @deathmagus1 expeculated, as he sad: "so now i need a full set on my guys to get ready with crafting how many bounty's are forced on me now for one i never liked doing them and instead of doing them i would walk gr's to make them take longer i would go 1 11 21 31 37 45 and save it for group play".

Thats why i said previously: "Even a level 1 grift is out of reach to most new players and seasonal chars in the 1st week (more or less)", as most of them will not be at lv 70 yet. Casual players and a big percentual of non-season players will take a longer time to level up theirs seasonal chars. Without a sistem to help leveling, like the bounties, it would be really boring progress trough campaing mode, or dificult if you could enter a grift from the start lv 1.

As you said, we know some players, heavy seasonal ones, will beat grift 40+ in 1st 24h. But to most of player base, its not a truth. still there is a lot of players at non season games that are not ready to GR 40. and some of them will start seasonal chars too to get cosmetics and all the stuff it brings.

Edit: Of couse, if someone is at lv 70 and still have problems with a grift lv 1, better to go find another game because it's a big problem at D3! ^^ (just joking)

@Gromral, i tried a little with WoHF, but it realy opens to a low defense, so i'd prefer CW, or even FoT, as it has a freezing effect that may help a little too. But it is from player to player. Love WoHF, but wont use it for a long time (maybe with my full generator buld).

About season, yes, i didn't played it yet. But mechanics wouldn't change so much. Base is the same, you will only add more dmg and thoughness to build. Lion's replace in-geon/whatever you use (Roars or Azure), and Striken will replace Taeguk, as it is too much trustfull to have than perma spending spirit. Maybe we would use Taeguk and Striken to a full dmg bonus, but i think its not worth leave Bane or Gogok for Taeguk. 15% CDR is too good for now to replace, and Bane of the trapped will be 100% active with U6 build. IMO, Striken will be nerfed at ptr, it is too powerfull for now.

About playstyle, i just gone using SSS from start of a enconter, to get the belt bonuses at beguining (so, ~24% dmg reduction) and punching after. Most of time my 3rd punch set my time to hit SSS again. CDR was enought to punch/SSS ever i needed (but nor a perma SSS as it was before). With 40% dmg reduction from bracers and 24% from belt, and 50% from Epiphany, most of atacks couldn't hit kill me. So, when thing was becoming too dificult, i hit serenity. Its recharge will take only about 3-4 secs after its effect wears off. Enought to run to a safer place or to use SSS, becoming invulnerable while Serenity completes its recharge. Everytime i hit SSS, recharge from other skills (Serenity) droped by 1 sec because of zodiac ring. With all this CDR i stayed at Epiphany about 80-90% of rift time. If you realywant it, you can become 100% Epiphany easy at Broken Promisses build.

I think getting over 70 arcane dust for one pair of bracers was taking more time than getting legendary mats with some of other mats from caches in 2.3.

About grifts, since you cannot upgrade keys now you should store keys until you're able to do some 30-40's, unless you're dependent on some legendary gem. As far I tested on ptr you can get to torment 6-8 in one day (dependent on luck, tested without drop buff).

@lamack Level 1 GR is equal to normal difficulty so even with yellow gear it wouldn't be problem to complete. But I dont see a purpouse in doing super low GRs in 2.3 since you cannot go higher at cost of one key like in 2.2.

And I think GR40 will be beaten in first 24h of new season :)

Hi, azakus87, in fact, i just mentioned Gr1 because op said he would prefer to start doing grifts from start. And when new season comes to live we know we all will need to start from lv 1 GR and up every step again. Assuming you will star a new char from lv 1 - GR lv 1, in public games, you will be a little underpowered yet. Monster will get the 4 men bonus, but you will not have a good wep. armor or even all pieces of gear to equip, and will have little help from the other players for now as they will be at same position as you. So, it means: you are for yourself for now! Better to go for group only with friends or farm a little (lv 10?) to start joining public games. Of course you can have luck and find a group of players that will help more or less, but it is dubious to figure out yet.

I was testing it today and it worked very well with Serenity + SSS Belt + Spirit Guard.

Of course it got less dmg as you cant count with an ocasional on death explosion from a Gundgo Gear, or an extra CDR from Vigilant's Belt, but I think it may be adjusted a little bit with time and testing.

I was using SSS almost every 2 sec (or less) from one to other with 55% CDR (12% helm/gem, 2x10% from weps, 8% shouders, 6% ring) and + 60% from FoE passive + 20% from Beacon of ytar. At every 2 SSS I was hitting a Serenity if necessary. Sometimes I was using +15% CDR from Gogok, and it improved even more my effectivenes, palming and dealing damg.

I think the changes to SSS will make us to think a little more about the build's use and eficiency, but it wont become useless at all. And Broken Promisses build still will be the best way to focus on U6 build for now, as it enables us to have a little bit more thoughness to face high grift levels.

    Testing Gears:

U6 + F&R + Spirit Guard + SSS Belt (BotL) + Mara + Azt + Sever (Sever just because it has 10% CDR. Didn't try with in-geon just to see how it worked. Lions claw = more DPS and thoughness)

Cubed: FoE, Madstone, Zodiac Ring (But maybe its better to use a Convention of Elements for + dmg or RoRG to put Madstone at head and SSS belt at cube, enabling the Witch Hour/Vigilant Belt use)

Gems: Bane of the Trapped, Taeguk, Ice Blink (for CC and 10% CrC) or Gogok (for 15% atk speed and 15% CDR)

    Testing Skills:

SSS/Sustained Assaut (tryed with Pndemonium too, but new CC rules mess with it)

Cripping Wave/Breaking Wave (Maybe, CW will be the best option now, as it offer a good CC pool too)

Mantra of Salvation/Agility (No need to explain)

Epiphany/Deset Shroud (No need to explain)

Serenity/Peacefull Repose (Solo) or Tranquility (Group)

Exploding Palm/Impending Doom (No need to explain)

    Passives:

Beacon of ytar, Harmony, Near Death Experience, Unity (group)/Mytic Rhythm (solo)/Sixth Sense (if thoughness is low)

IMO, it's a better way to craft items by new players/season beguinning, as you don't need to have tons of lengendaries to savage and get the forgoten souls to start crafting any recipe. You will need to do bounties anyway, to get materials, drops and all at beguining. Even a level 1 grift is out of reach to most new players and seasonal chars in the 1st week (more or less).

Devs intentions are to make every aspect of the game usefull in its way. So, bounties needed an incentive now, as you won't need them to farm keystones anymore. But don't mind about it, no recipe is good enought to use after 3-5 days playing. So, not worth the effort to farm them. Keep your material for cube recipes (we will need it a lot!). If you really want to use a build based on crafted items, it is fair you will need to farm the craft material to get a perfect piece of gear, like other builds will need to farm days/months to get theirs. But, crafted based builds still will be easy to gear up as you will have an item for sure after farm the recipe's components, while droped based build depends exclusively of RNGeesus to decide to help...

posted a message on Paragon 10000!

Most of time i don't mind if someone is stronger, have more paragon level tham me, or what else. But i do if it will interefe in my game play experience. now, i'm just P819. Most of time playing about 2h/day. When i was below P800, xp farm felling was more interesting, exciting. Every 100 cap i got a new portrait to show my progrssion, had in mind find a good item to improve my char, etc...

But now, it's like paragon farm is the only way to improve my position at board. I'm (today) 88º at solo monk (was top 30 some weeks ago), but started to think how pointless is to farm paragons as only way to improve at ladder these days. I agree that a player who spend 8-16h a day playing shoud receive a reward and be best positioned than me. But i really become anoyed when i need to perform my poor 2h farmin speed grifts and nothing else just to keep my position or improve a little bit more. There is much more in D3 i love to do, like bounties, achievment hunts, chat with friends, etc. But now, i'm feeling like i should not eperience all D3 has to offer to start a paragon race everyday.

Maybe, experiece gap at paragon levels isn't a good idea, but xp reward should be reworked soon. it is a fact that a high level paragon player can speed a 50-60+ grift receiving a HUGE amount of xp/h. And they need it to level up next. But as xp/level increasce, maybe xp/grift should be changed to receive less % modification at every level.

Ex. just for thinking (not correct values), if you receive 100k xp at grift 40 run, at grft 41, mosters will receive a +10% on life/dmg, but xp overall increasce only at base 5%. Of couse it should start only ar real high level grifts, (maybe to GR 60+) as they have huge xp reward per run.

I hope my vacances come early this year to farm 200-500 paragon levels and come back to my position again next season.

Not worth change 3-4 pieces from set to LoH instead of weapon. You will lose too much damage, much more than the 10% you will receive...

Edit: you will lose more damage or survive... keep LoH in weapons, you will miss it in high level grifts...

But seriously. With a drop rate like it is today, its a big problem think about what is wothy to keep ou savage. It seems the answer stays increscing stash space when it should be at adjusting and improving smart drops... I'd love to have better items instead of lots of trash to store just in case of not find a GG Ancient item i want.
