My problem with the screwy set drop rate is that it's so wildly different for people.
Example, I play with the same 3 other guys every night. We run T4 rifts every night. 1 guy has yet to see anything but Blackthorns drop - not a single Demon Hunter piece. 2nd guy, Wizard, has a complete set of Firebird - COMPLETE - not cheating with the cache reward ring. 3rd guy has 5 pieces of Zunni Witch Doctor set and the ring - so 6 piece set bonus. And then there is me - I have looted more Blackthorns then I care to think about, and only 2 Crusader set pieces. My 3rd piece was actually looted by the Witch Doctor and given to me - so with the ring I have 4 piece set bonus. The same Witch Doctor also looted a DH piece and gave it to guy #1.
I am sorry - that is just plain stupid. I get RNG. I understand its the basis of loot for D3. HOWEVER, it needs to be more evenly applied across the player-base. No way in the world should it be so wildly different for the people playing the same levels, time sinks, clear-speeds, etc.
That is what my issue is -- there needs to be a more equal distribution of loot "luck", period. It is bullshit that one player can have 6 pieces and another has none. And it's bullshit that one player can loot so many class-specific set pieces outside of his own darn class.
Bullshit - the loot drop rate sucks now period. It was fine before that first 25% bump up to Rifts. Now even after the 100% bump - it still sucks. I go DAYS of playing 3-4 hours at a time without seeing a SINGLE damn Green drop. None. Its the same crappy trash 2handers over and over.
Its not all Random. This isn't gaming in early 2000s.
They can fix it if they want. Gaming Technology today can assure its NOT random and instead drops follow a consistent flow rate -- there is no reason for the drops to not be consistent for everyone, PERIOD. Why the F*&K do you deserve 5-10 Legendaries during your play, but the next guy/gal doesn't?? It can be corrected if they want too.
