Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from Roberts91Quote from ruksakIf you quit so fast, it indicates to me that perhaps this genre isn't for you. This isometric, hack 'n' slash item-centric game WILL NOT appeal to everyone, by a long shot. Diablo 3, much like Diablo 2....you either love it, or hate it.
After reading this I wanted to reply cause I have a totally different experience. It's hard to admit this but I could play Diablo 2 back in the day for 12 hours straight it was so addicting to me. Now playing Diablo 3 it's not the same feeling I can barely play for an hour without getting bored it may have to do with the fact I was 12 at the time and it was my first multiplayer experience. That was the game that sucked my life away. Probably because of the trading aspect and the rush of me and 7 other people fighting for our lives to survive baal runs so the last 3 previous runs didn't go in vein cause you would lose all that experience and being level 90+ it was tough to gain a level. The trading aspect. And the social experience seemed a lot bigger in that game in this game I see most people make private games and play by themselves. Compare the amount of public games in this game to the amount back in diablo 2. I think reducing the player count removed the wow I'm part of a big epic fight.
Another aspect was the diversity in classes and within the classes them selves. One example being the hammerdin. And the risk of investing in certain skills and starting all over to make a stronger build. Strategizing how your going to build your class before you even make it. I could go on and on but you get my point.
Couldnt agree more, THIS is how Diablo 2 was for me and how Diablo 3 didnt have the same feeling at launch..

This is not a QQ thread, just want to know if its worth coming back.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
When Diablo 3 came out i played _ALOT_ durring the first week, go to 60 and so on but then i got superbored like so many others.
Had anything worthwhile happend? Paragon lvls is nice, but what more have happend since 1.0?
Worth coming back?
I played a Monk which kinda sucked, will reroll a Barb if i begin again.

Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from PizzaSHARKQuote from SerpenthI wouldn't say unfinished. I would say unbalanced. It many, many forms.
1.) Champion/Elites are harder than Bosses (Belial, Azmodan, etc)
2.) Auction House is dramatically effecting character progression. Items Lvl 50 are selling for 10-12k and are instant upgrades. No need to farm gear just go to the AH.
3.) No real difference between Magical and Rare items.
#1 is completely intentional. Blizzard's said they want the focus to be on the champions and elites, not the act bosses, which is why the act bosses don't even provide very good rewards compared to champs and elites.
#2 isn't an issue. Who cares if you can buy gear from the AH? People would buy it from players directly if the AH didn't exist. Blame the lack of stat requirements for item types if you want to blame anything.
#3 is incorrect; rares with the right affixes will always be the best possible items. Magic items can be very good, but because rares can have more affixes than magics, rares will always be better if we're assuming both item types have the same stats you desire. It's getting rares with those affixes that's the difficult part.
I think the biggest problem is the Auction House - I have no idea how to fix it or balance it. But it's fucked up. And I'm not even talking the bugs.
The AH is fine.
Just cause it's intensional dosnt make it fun to play.

Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from MaschinentraumaI can agree with most the OP said.
Yet I have a lot of fun, I like most of the design, the story is present and good enough for me - I tend to say it is more present than in D2.
Anyway, I'm currently playing act3 Hell with my level 59 WD and am asking myself what I will do afterwards... of course I will head into inferno, but where is the sense if I'm already 60 when I'm getting there.
Back in D2/LoD the grind for uniques and rares and the steep leveling curve made the items you found in fact useful, this combined with the itemization and the ladder made it worth to be played many many times.
I have troubles seeing the replayability of D3 - this was one of the requirements I, and for sure a lot of other people had to the game.
Regarding Inferno the slightly better Items, the Nefalem-buff (why on 60?), the 4 tier-designs... this is all nice but it's all stuff which is barely useful, because we've already reached lev 60 and I don't see any sense in collecting Achievements, or Items or play the game a 4th time if there is no sort of... added value. There isn't even a Lobby one could pose in to show the own gear.
And don't tell me the game is out for 1 week... it was in developement for ~7 years... seriously.
Before the release I was reading some of the posts regarding potential profit generated by the RMAH... If I see the game in the state it's actually in I could imagine that this "profit" will break down to something almost unnoticeable. Because it would be even more idiotic (ok, there are a lot of idiots out there) to spend real money on something in D3 than it is to spend cash on mounts/gold/items in WoW - where this stuff serves at least any purpose.
I'll try for my self to say goodbye to the D2 image and all the demands I had for the upcoming D3 and simply accept it as what it is, a good single player game, with some but not too much replayability, and vast, unexploited potential which was still worth the money I've spent.
Agree with pretty much all of this.
In diablo 2 you could run baalruns / chaosruns / mfruns to get upgrades, new runes and at the same time get you further and further down the road to 99.
Now when i hit 60 2 days after release and started to run through inferno i got the feeling it dosnt really matter how good gear i have.
Cause there is no more levels to accuire, why do i need better gear?
In d2 you get better gear - you leveld faster, you got stronger in pvp for each level you gained and so on.
Now you get to 60, run through inferno and then it feels like you have nothing more to accomplish, that is how it makes me feel.
And i playd ALOT of diablo 2, the best times i had was when cowlevel was worth running, i feel blizzard made a misstake when they put this low lvl cap in.
And dont tell me it was no use to be 99... When i went against a lvl 85-90 on my 99 bowazon when we had equal gear (when bowazon's were good) i would faceroll him.

Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from derpingerQuote from GrimaceIt took weeks to level in D2 and thats something I greatly enjoyed. You're hard work showed when you were the ONLY level 99 out of your friends.
lolol. It took a single dedicated night and maybe another 2 hours the next day to "level" is d2. By level I mean get high enough to wear all your toons end game gear, 75-85 range. Hitting 99 is pointless and by no standard a core part of the game.
99 is there so autistic children have a repetative motion to occupy their time. But good job beating your friends with your "hard work" aka no working job at all.
For pvp, having a 99 instead of a lvl 90 was a huge diffrence, trust me..

Posted in: News & AnnouncementsQuote from FrozenRealmWe need some REAL solutions for all the ingame stuttering problems (and yes.. it IS a software problem!). For example, I've exchanged my ATI radeon 4890 with an ATI radeon 6950 (which should be faster in any sense of the way), but ingame I experience MORE stuttering and 'loading' moments when encountering new creatures or events.. its ridiculous!! And i'm not the only player with a pretty decent gaming pc who has these problems.
Also, the lag on the Europa server is horrible, I have a fast internet connection and ping about 180-200 ms average.. never had this in my entire life in any other game!
Also, for the ati users, the 12.3 catalyst drivers seem to be less affected with the stuttering problems compared to the latest 12.4 drivers.
Yes it is, i run a Alienware with 16gb ram, a 6970, diablo + windows on my SSD and so on and i also have stuttering at times.
So yes, its very much a software problem and btw, my windows is a fresh install with virussoftware and so on, so dont even try peeps.. :/
