wrong. It was said primals will always roll with perfect sockets, which means no sockets for weapons and always max sockets on all other slots.
It's interesting how Zodiac ring is being dealth with. I guess it will just be an exception to this rule, because of its unique stat combination
This seems fairly simple. It rolls with the maximum number of sockets possible on the item. Perfect sockets on Chest is 3, so perfect on rings would be 3 too, but they can't get that many. Zodiac ring can't roll sockets natively, so it won't roll sockets. Fairly elementary.
Only chest pieces can roll with 3 sockets, only pants can roll with 2, everything else except gloves/belt/shoulders/bracers/boots can have 1.
A socket on a ring takes up 1 of its affix slots, I'm pretty sure primal ancients aren't going to break the maximum number of affix slots an item can have. Chest and leg items are weighted to roll more frequently with 3 and 2 sockets but can roll with 2 or 1 socket or none at all.
An item rolling with maximum number of sockets just means if it rolls with "socket(x)" as an affix it will always be 3 (chest) or 2 (pants) or 1 on everything else respectively.
As was stated Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac never rolls with sockets natively so it's still going to have aspd, cc, rcr, and cdr (at max values). It isn't going to break it's 4 affixes and suddenly have 5 affixes with one as a socket.
