It rolls with max. possible Sockets IF it rolls sockets. Primals are not perfect items, they are items with perfect stat rolls!

wrong. It was said primals will always roll with perfect sockets, which means no sockets for weapons and always max sockets on all other slots.
It's interesting how Zodiac ring is being dealth with. I guess it will just be an exception to this rule, because of its unique stat combination

This seems fairly simple. It rolls with the maximum number of sockets possible on the item. Perfect sockets on Chest is 3, so perfect on rings would be 3 too, but they can't get that many. Zodiac ring can't roll sockets natively, so it won't roll sockets. Fairly elementary.

Only chest pieces can roll with 3 sockets, only pants can roll with 2, everything else except gloves/belt/shoulders/bracers/boots can have 1.
A socket on a ring takes up 1 of its affix slots, I'm pretty sure primal ancients aren't going to break the maximum number of affix slots an item can have. Chest and leg items are weighted to roll more frequently with 3 and 2 sockets but can roll with 2 or 1 socket or none at all.
An item rolling with maximum number of sockets just means if it rolls with "socket(x)" as an affix it will always be 3 (chest) or 2 (pants) or 1 on everything else respectively.
As was stated Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac never rolls with sockets natively so it's still going to have aspd, cc, rcr, and cdr (at max values). It isn't going to break it's 4 affixes and suddenly have 5 affixes with one as a socket.

I kind of wish they would add a new drop like Ramaladni's Gift that lets you add sockets to jewelry. I hate rerolling rings and necks for a socket since legendary gems are mandatory but so are all the stats on your ammy/ring. Makes finding optimal jewelry pieces a pain.

posted a message on Anyone playing D3 4k resolution? (laptop)

    http://www.techspot.com/review/1243-asus-rog-g752vs-laptop/

This one just blows my mind, the 1080p variant comes in at $2500, the review states there is a 4K display available but i'm having a hard time tracking down pricing.

Yeah laptops are powerful these days, I have SLI in mine, although it's a few years old. Lol to the guy up top 900p screens..... get off the internet

Most laptops are either running at 1366x768, 1280x800, 1440x900, or 1920x1080 those are the most common resolutions. There are plenty of specs out there and I never said 900p was the max I just said it was the highest "I" have seen. I'm also not saying a laptop can't do 1080p or higher, the point of my post was basically this....why do you want 4k resolution on a 17"-19" screen, 4k is for big 50"+ screens and if you're going to just have your laptop wired up to a tv through an hdmi cable or displayport what even is the point, save 1,000+ bucks and just buy a tower.

That's what people say who don't have 4k on screens that are not 50" 4k on something like a 19" screens looks absolutely fantastic, and even on a 34" gaming monitor.

Then you said you can't cram the components in to a laptop to do 4k, I would like to introduce you to the GTX 1070 in a laptop

    http://www.asus.com/ca-en/site/g-series/?gclid=Cj0KEQjwsO6-BRDRy8bsxfiV2bkBEiQAF8EzKOJVtwJqBm6B2OjF1rrwDj6tV_G8HM9PM0drkD0_2lQaAjjl8P8HAQ

I'm sure it does look good and if you want to blow the money on it then have at it. But having 4k resolution on a small screen is pretty silly. You may notice a difference, you may not. Personally I think 4k on anything smaller than 32" is pretty pointless and again if you're going to have the laptop tethered to a bigger monitor anyway why not just get a tower and save some money or spend the same amount on more powerful components.

Pretty much what zmac said. Most laptop screens are lower resolution than monitors or tvs are anyway. I think the highest resolution I've seen on a laptop monitor is right at 1600 by 900. Some may be capable of 1080. But you just aren't going to cram the necessary components and power onto a laptop for 4k gaming even if you use it's displayport or hdmi out which just defeats the purpose of a laptop for portability...if you're going to have it tethered to a giant 4k monitor just stick with a desktop.

posted a message on Season 7 and 2.5 suggestions?

I'd like to see something more out of the Caldessan's Respite recipe. It's currently an alternate grind outside of paragon which is fine but I think it needs some tweaks. Instead of augmenting the item it should augment the slot so any gear you wear gets the bonus you did the grind for. I think you should also be able to augment the same slot multiple times with different augments. primary stat>vit then the other two for the marginal all res/armor bonus from int/str/dex depending on your class if you felt the need to grind those out as well.

Augmenting the slot would be a good change since you wouldn't have to find an almost perfect piece of gear to augment, grind out the gem and then actually find an upgrade and have to grind it out again.

posted a message on Please help. Need a 2 click build for wiz.

Look up the numlock trick and try it out with the flash fire build, with numlock basically holding down diamond skin, exposive blast, and frost nova all she'll have to worry about is pressing electrocute and teleport which you can bind to left mouse and right mouse click. And even better if she has a mouse with macro functionality you can bind the whole sequence of keys for the numlock trick to work to one macro and toggle it on and off.

posted a message on Just Salvaged My Nemesis Bracers...

Kinda wish blizz would implement a feature to "lock" a legendary so that you can't accidently salvage it even if you click on it and accept the prompt it would give you an error message and you'd have to disable the lock to salvage it if you really wanted to. I know it's kinda a silly quality of life improvement since you can already argue that the one prompt message is enough but when you're spamming you really aren't paying that much attention sometimes.

As makeleth said the only wings that went live were the falcon and cosmic. The other wings were removed from the ptr which is what they used to determine what went live.

posted a message on Idea for additional Paragon functionality

Even though it isn't used much in builds in the current meta I'm imagining black hole being way op with all skill runes. Spell steal with the increased range of super massive and the affix eating ability of event horizon would be nuts. Honestly most wizard abilities would be crazy op with this. Having access to all magic weapon runes and all ice armor or energy armor runes. The 2.4 DMO arcane orb build with unstable sceptre and triumvirate increasing arcane orb damage and them firing twice having access to all runes would be disgusting. Flashfire wizard with explosive blast having access to all runes would be insane. It's definitely an interesting idea but there would need to be a crap load of adjustments to skills before it could go live.

I had the same issue not sure what's up with the builds section, even if you select the previous patch builds that were prevalent then don't seem to show up. Though using google to search for a build usually does link back to the site and the build.

posted a message on Two Man Groups 2.4.1.

I did Boss Mode solo back in season 4 when it was a 30 minute timer. I totally see it easily doable by a 2 man in 20 minutes with decent gear and communication. I will recommend binding a hotkey to close all opens windows - this also skips any dialogue the boss may be spitting out and seems to quicken their death animations saving you some precious seconds. Except for Malthael, you can speed through the little cut scene in the middle when he switches modes, "enrages" but his death animation is still long and annoying, same with Diablo's.

posted a message on Two Man Groups 2.4.1.

If you're going to play the entire season in a 2 man I would suggest both of you being the same class just for the efficiency in the loot share as bagstone suggested. Getting both of you geared quicker will get you to the stash tab sooner.

posted a message on So what you all think about this?

Personally I'd like to see that last "mystery" slot on the torment selection used for a dynamic torment. Pretty much just setting it equal to whatever your highest greater rift clear was or a greater rift level of your choice as OP suggested. It would be nice to have another method of grinding out paragon other than rifts. I have no idea how they would balance loot drops and bounties and the like, something that could garnish some discussion.

posted a message on Official blogpost on the Season 6 Journey

solo 75 is... scary for casual hardcore players like me... Hell, even gems to 65 is, since you have to go at least 64, and that's... potentially-deadly.

Will probably aim for cursed chest and all bosses to get the stash tab.

I did solo 75 last season, with a dmo wizard and I played pretty casually through the season. A whole lot solo. I could see it being rough in hardcore just to get to that point gear and gem wise but if your in a clan having them powerlevel you a softcore to try it on shouldn't be much of an issue. If last season is any indicator some folks will be paragon 600+ by the end of the first week if not within the first few days.
