Exploits don't really exist on the PTR. It's just called a bug. The reason for the PTR to exist... as someone already mentioned. Blizzard 100% wants you to do shit like that so they can find out about it and fix it.

maybe, but since i can faceroll T6, i kind of find it wasted to run normal bounties .. for such a low chance. better run less T6 in same amount of time and drop twice as much
A lot of people will tell you that Torment difficulties only increase your chance of getting regular legendaries, not cache only legendaries. If that's true (and I haven't seen any actual evidence supporting or denying it), then you're actually lowering your chances by running the higher difficulty because you're getting less caches-per-hour.

Wish Blizzard would go back and wipe out their older posts with the (now) conflicting information. This one can be tough to find sometimes...

Heh, sounds like they haven't updated the localization information for those new item affixes. I would guess that if you changed the language back, the passive would still work even if not displayed, now that you at least know what it is. That is, assuming the hellfire neck passives are actually functioning on the PTR, I have not been on there. :P

    Quote from Bagstone
It's a nice idea, but never going to happen. It requires for the game to allow mods, and Blizzard already said multiple times that they do not plan on opening up Diablo 3 to modding.

I think one of the reasons is the following: The main reason why Diablo games were so successful is that their game play incentivizes long-term character development; many people played the same character for years in Diablo 1, 2, and 3. That's because you always have something to aim for. However, long-term progression requires a lot of effort in terms of balance. Mods, on the other hand, are usually different: they offer great short-term gameplay experience and allow for quick, short games to be played (see all the SC2/WC3 mods; especially the most successful one of all times, DotA). If you were to allow mods, people could just "simulate" endgame gear and -experience, might get bored after some time, and lose interest in playing ("why should I keep farming for my class sets; I got them in the "Pew Pew L00t Mod 3.1" and I have no reason to play regular RoS").

That's why I think there will never be something like custom play (or mods in general), or at least not anytime soon.
I don't see how it would require mods created external to Blizzard, it would be them implementing it and it could be as limited or unlimited as they wanted it to be. I do agree that making it unlimited in the sense of taking the game as it is now and molding it however you (the player) want it to be would be harmful for the game, but I'm sure someone more creative than me could come up with something that would allow player input in creating their own world, while also keeping the incentive there to play the game as normal.

posted a message on Think if Diablo3 has custom play.
So... like the world/campaign editors from starcraft and warcraft? To create custom maps?

Interesting idea, but it couldn't be nearly as creatively limitless as it is for those games. You obviously couldn't decide things like elite density, drop rates, etc. At best you'd just be able to make a map layout, and even that could be a stretch as people would just make super simple ones to maximize their "efficiency", and even then it surely wouldn't be allowed "rift level" drop chances, so nobody would actually play them, efficient or not.

Maybe if it was for an entirely separate set of characters or something for that mode it could be opened up, but people would just make maps that give them full legendary sets in 10 minutes of farming and that mode would quickly become stale, with no goals to strive for. I don't see it fitting diablo really, though if Blizzard had infinite time and resources it could be a fun thing to play with.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Game of Thrones Mob
Feel like Kingslayer is pushing it as a reference... I don't think GoT is the only story in which someone, or some sword has been called Kingslayer. And it would seem a fitting generic name for a sword... "this sword is so powerful it has slain kings", etc.

But the treasure realm one is very cool. Surprised they didn't change the spelling of Lannister, would have thought both would be off-limits.

I was mostly replying to the people that got theirs in 10 or fewer goblins, thinking that this will pop up all the time. It definitely will take a decent amount of time farming to get to it. And as long as it takes millions of gold to create a full set of gems (It cost me 30 million just to gem up one set of gear on one character), it will never be "meaningless."
30 million is a drop in the bucket when you're getting 100-200 million in one of these realms, probably upwards of 300 million if you build a quick maxed out GF set, which would probably take 5 minutes of picking up yellows of all different slots and reforging their secondaries. And it should not be a drop in the bucket to create a full set of top-level gems, they are a part of progression and gearing just like everything else. Gold is supposed to be a burden. Even if you're not searching specificially for goblins (aka, ignoring other things), you could probably find at least 5 an hour, playing even 8 hours a week that's 40 goblins a week - based on the rate people have been finding the realm so far, you'd probably find at least one realm in that 40. 200+ million a week would absolutely make gold meaningless.

I like gold having a purpose, otherwise it will just turn into what it was in Diablo 2. At which point it might as well just not exist. If gold isn't a limiting factor in perfecting gear then there isn't really anything else meaningful enough for it to exist for.

posted a message on Harringtons is dead in Greater Rifts
Harrington's is one of my favorite items, I hope they don't change it. I'm completely fine with it not really functioning in greater rifts, it would work against the idea of greater rifts being all about killing things/beating the time trial and not looting. There are a number of other items that you don't wear at all times - immunity necks, the nemesis bracers (if they're not well rolled otherwise or don't conflict with a set you want)... if you want to have interesting legendary bonus effects its just going to happen. I've carried a hellcat belt in my inventory for a long time to have a replacement option on bosses.

They're probably letting you test the Greed realm that's why it'll be more frequent in the PTR.
This. They've almost certainly boosted the chance for one to appear for the PTR. What's the point of rarity if the goal is testing it. I wouldn't be surprised if they just set the gold rewards absurdly high to start with as well, since it doesn't matter where it starts at on the PTR (only where it ends at...), and to generate some extra hype about that feature.
    Quote from Jaratu
Took me 27 Goblin kills to get my first portal. I wouldn't exactly call it common. Sadly, at the end, she died while charging, so I didn't get to loot the chest. Still made 114M gold on the way up to her, though!
1 in 27 goblins, even 1 in 50 is pretty damn common to get 100-200 million + gold out of it. Especially since people will amass gold find sets for this, seeing as how much of the gold seems to be just out of breakables, there's no risk to wearing shitty gear until you reach the end boss. Gold would quickly become very nearly meaningless if it remained this way.

Yea, it seems highly unlikely they'll let you get 114m gold from one lucky find on T5.. but who knows?
um...what? where did you count 114m from this Realm? It's few millions at most... not hundred
    From the OP.

Torment 5 - 114000000 gold and 4 Legendary drops in this run
Or, even if you don't believe the number he posted - just watch the video on the bottom right corner by his resource orb. You can see the new gold counter regularly hit several million. With how many times 9-11 million popped up I almost would have thought the number would've been higher.

Can't see that total going live though, unless finding the place is absurdly rare.

You could farm up some keys/organs and hold on to them for the Hellfire Amulet. It sounds like they aren't changing the materials required (as in, not making it entirely new items), so you could get the jump and craft a bunch right away for use in greater rifts.

Because they wanted to make more abilities be options for multiple elements. You'll notice they did it for a lot of skills, across all classes. Fetish army with a cold dmg option, etc.

You should have plenty of time to finish your build and get sick of it before the patch launches and you can try new stuff. Though... perhaps not if you've been doing it since RoS launch. Maybe you should try new things now, that's a long time to be doing the same build.

First option will be String of Ears.

Really, once you get beyond level 30 on Greater Rifts the times of "let's go full damage and neglect all our toughness" are over. WH is a nice option for speeding through rifts that you can easily clear (sub-30 for those who're farming T6 right now, and maybe sub-40 later on when people have figured out most optimal group compositions). But once you get to the state where you're pushing the boundaries - and with gear right now that'll be the 32+ rifts - you really want some toughness at first. No reason to give up on String of Ears that easily.

Well, pushing the boundaries will be just as much about keeping up the speed as it will be about survival, with the time limits. You'll have to find a balance... personally I still think toughness will be neglected a bit in favor of extreme focus on avoidance when it comes to pushing the highest boundaries... eventually, you're just going to need more damage to make times, and there's going to be a point where it can't come from anywhere else but reducing your toughness.

    Thanks for the advises!

I am looking for the Rotg because I am trying to complete the Jade Set (I only have 3 pieces now).

If I change my Jade pants, i will lose the 500 Int of pants+shoulder :-(

Anyway, could someone put some viable pet build for TF, TMF, SoJ, MoJ, Totd please?

Thanks Lewo!!!! I will try this afternoon...
Check my page -http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Undrtaker-1634/hero/14796837 for the build and gear. Some of it can still be improved but I solo T6 and do split bounties on T6 (which is probably the hardest the game can offer right now) half asleep. Only missing a TMF to replace my Unity when I group
Why Zombie dogs - leeching beasts? You don't seem to have any life on hit...
