posted a message on Upcoming Necromancer Update

I don't really get the "but we're getting content for free so we shouldn't complain".

No, we're not getting anything for free. We paid for the game, we will pay for the Necro DLC, what we got is what we paid for.

The problem is not that. Not at all.

The problem is that there's nothing new. A zone with some bounties is nothing worth doing - we're going to farm Grs no matter what because they're the only thign worth to do in game.

Challenge rifts are a novelty thing which i suppose will wither fast because why in the hell should i play another character and race against other people in an hack and slash game. I can get rewards for my char but imho it goes against the ARPG premise where the main goal of the entire genre is MAKING YOUR CHARACTER STRONGER. I want to play my char and make it stronger, end.

It just looks like to me that the game as a whole revolves around ladders of some sort which tbh are the very least thing only the really dedicated and interested people do.

The whole issue is that Blizzard is simply not interesting in changing anything in the game, because it's much easier to manage. Adding a new class is good and fun and i support the idea of class DLCs but i want the revenue from it translated in some new REAL content, not some random zones which have next to zero sense to exist and i see them a couple of times because the Season Journey tells me to complete a round of bounties.

Just to give to all a perspective of what Blizzard really thinks and offically answered:

    http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/blog/20507565/developer-chronicles-qa-follow-up-24-01-2017

Read the answers and tell me what they're saying. All i can read is "We're fine, we're not making any changes, buy Necro DLC".

Using too many skill slots, you forgot to add a spender for Etched/Mantle/Taeguk/Herg... Kinda destroys the whole thing ;)

Uh, my bad - plan was swapping Force Weapon with Ray of Frost.

You don't quite understand how LoN builds work.

Its best to use a skill with a high dmg multiplier and gear support.

Heres my modification on your build

    http://www.d3planner.com/925751529

833% more dmg output, 12% less toughness. What i did was use Ray of Frost as a channeling skill to proc Energy Twister and Blizzard to auto cast with that Etched Sigil. I also assumed paragon 800, because that is the average level of the player base. Gem level70 augments and level80 gems. I replaced your Gogok of swiftness with Bane of the Stricken.

    Sample test:
    10 yard radius
    20 whites
    1 elite

That being said, if you were going for a pure Ray of Frost build. Just "Play your Way."

Nice build! I'm going for it when i finished the journey. Anyway a couple of observings/sugestions:
    - ES is kinda unreliable with his auto casts. From playing with it it casts spells prioritizing them by CD; first the ones with longer CD and last the ones without CD. The fact is that if you have multiple no CD spenders equipped then they are cast at random and you don't have control on them - this ties to point below
    - Twister Sword is really good. However if you pair ET with another no CD spender and ES, you don't have a reliable way to keep 5 tornadoes spawned at all time until you start manually casting them too. ES works best with a single "spammable spender" and the rest are on CD so you maximize the one you want to spam.
    - Imho your build while having great output looks too fragile - though i didn't play it. Maybe it's just me and this can push up to GR90+ :D.
    - This said, here's an alternative i have in mind right now to maximize stuff and ET spam http://www.d3planner.com/318469254

Nope, because anyone playing the game right now reverted back to 32 bit for a smoother experience

To me, new clienmt is smoother and looks better. Issues arise as soon as i joun a party though - in solo everything is fine.
Anyway yes, 64bit client basically sucks for the moment until they fix the issues.

Talk about entitlement and overreacting. "broken mess" because your fancy keyboard lòeds don't work? Lol, totally game breaking. I suppose to each its own.

I had zero issues, though i played only solo. To me it looks more like some options are not working correctly - i have everything maxed out and didn't get any issue, but again, i played solo.

Nice to see a video of this :D It may be better in party with a support/tank that drives mob attention away from us.

Lol what the fuck. Any chance for the posted above DemoNat to be at least enjoyable? Would try PTR but cannot be hassled to download it.

Just tinkering with random stuff as i want to make ot work at least decently.

    here's first iteration of DemoNat - http://www.d3planner.com/250963246

just put together stuff synergizing itself, had to make a couple of choices but i think the skeleton is there. Everyone free to jump into PTR and try it.

Couple of details: vengeance grenade rune is not affected by HW, so we can stick with dark heart and gunes is not needed, until Seethe is mandatory and basically break the setup. Grenade for the hatred regen and F/R procs to make use of HW again. Nat xbow/Dawn are mandatory, choosen ballista due to great increase on toughness provided which the spec lacks. Standard complementaries (yan, channeling, clarity).

EDIT: Spike traps are bad becuse the mechanics are utterly bad. Only real working rune was Stick trap and it got removed for no reason at all. Imho they should make sticky trap baseline with old 1h xbow power and then run change damage type/add effects. The you'd have a reliable aoe damage source.

Have to be honest, it looks mildly interesting. I have always wanted to try a grenadier build and this may be the time to actually have one.

Builds that come out of my mind right now:

    - standard Nat/RoV with Demolition and Anathema; probably since it's fire-based Greenstone/FoK combo won't be as useful as before due to most damage tied to grenades/RoV

    - M6 Cluster Arrow is affected too; LfB looks the more promising option, mostly because Cluster Bombs have very big aiming issues (but the damage increase provided may surpass the loss of efficiency).

    - LoN Rapid Fire? May prove damaging enough but the mobility loss de to RF channeling doesn't look good. Especially since we don't have the tankiness of a Firebird wizard.

    - UE generator/grenades; thopugh i'm not really convinced due to MS build being really strong. The other generator build experiments (HA/DA) proved to be fun but actually way less performing.

Will try to put up some profiles on d3planner and share here if someone is willing to try them on PTR.

posted a message on What will happen at Blizzcon?

Given the info we have, i'm completely clueless at his point. Multiple occasions for an expansion for D3 have passed with literally ZERO news, so if i have to imagine something about the future of D3 i think they will reveal some sort of big-ish patch with a revamped paragon system and maybe something else than GRs to progress with a character (not tied to ladders). Or better it's what i hope for without going too high with expectations.

Other than that i don't know. Given the lore and story of Diablo, it makes sense for a game with an environment like Dark Souls/Bloodborne due to the grimdark setting. Also the cliffangher we have now about Nephalem being so strong and easily corruptable can open up some sort of two-factions environment that opens up to PvP, while all Nephalems can fight together both Angels and Demons to protect Sanctuary.

Overall i think it's a good setting that covers both single (becomes like a Skyrim/DS) and multiplayer (MMO or co-op) options. Combat/gearing would need to have a MAJOR role howwever, since they're the trademarks of a Diablo game.

But in the end, i really expect nothing but some sort of "meh" things like a retrospective due to teh anniversary of the franchise and while D2HD would be nice, it won't be anything relevant due to its archaich gameplay system which will be appealing only for a small subset of players.

posted a message on End of Season 7 prediction?

Could be just before Blizzcon too. Either way, it's likely they're finishing the season, then announce the new stuff (hopefully) at Blizzcon, then we will see what will be of the game honestly.

If there's a new patch in the works which is not related to Blizzcon, we should have new info in October.

posted a message on Diablo IV: Who is going to GamesCom?

While i like d3 completely, i find myself playing for a while every season to do the journey and then i'm done, and that doesn't take really much. However, i don't want long grinds (making guardian objectives stuff like "reach 2k paragon" are even worse than current iteration).

Current gripes i have with the game:

    - sets over sets over sets. Everyone like sets, but making them the source of builds doesn't look like the right strategy for me. Making one small set buff one/two abilities or create a synergy is awesome - having a set covering nearly all the inventory that makes the decisions for me is not exactly what i expected to become. Theroycrafting and best builds will always exist, and independently from the itemization system. Anyway taking out players choice towards a predetermined skillset is simply not appealing.

    - paragon. I like the idea of infinite progression but having +damage and +defense until you cap at 800 then having +5 mainstat to inifnity is not an interesting progression, period. Also, the only actual reason to effectively grind paragon are ladders, otherwise they are a complete passive increase of power that is gained by doing something else and have next to zero purpose.

    - lack of long term obejctives. Ladders are a fun competition for people who's interested in them, and GRs are fun until you realize that either you do GR or do nothing since they become very fast the only and best way to progress with your character. Fastest way to get XP/Paragon, gear, only way to level up gems and so on. Really, people do bounties only because they need to cube stuff and this season is just a little more due to the "cube 50 stuff" thing. And story mode is there forgotten and ignored. And then...nothing else basically. While GRs have a very definite and specific scope (ladder competition) there's a) stuff in game that has little (or no) purpose to be and B) nothing else for people not interested in ladders.

    Just my 2 cents.

posted a message on Would you play season 7 (or any season) if no stash tab given?

I play for the journey - stash tab is nice, but in the end i shard everything i drop in seasons excluding sets. I also play only one class per season because why not, and usually stick with custom build variants since i don't need to push GRs for ladders.

I may roll on a cookie cutter build if my concept basically sucks, but i never had the issue till now.

Great data collection. And as Bagstone said, pretty nice change. Having a loot game where actually going for loot hurts you isn't that good to have.
