I'm looking forward to everything! Blizzcon is like a gamer's holiday. There's events, news, the main show, the tournaments. I just wish i had the money one of these years to go there in person, it would be the event of a lifetime!
To say 1 thing looking forward to seeing is of course reveal of Diablo expansion or another unknown project! To finally have SOMETHING and be rid of all these rumors and anticipation of announcements is going to have me on edge of my seat this weekend! Can't wait!

yeah i agree, something this big that requires this kind of test must be coming, they do this kind of test on wow too, esp before xpacs. I dont remember exzactly but they did this around the time 2.0 or 2.1 came out i think, when that was the big patch change for ROS, etc.

some day they are just going to scrap firebirds altogether i swear. How many seasons has that set had issues? season 8 we will just expect it at this point and when its not bugged/broken we will complain!
Its the only set that has gone through so much changes, fixes, hotfixes its crazy. Its not even that complicated a mechanic, at least to the players, internally idk why they havent dug deeper to make it not have issues like it keeps having.

I have to agree, so far NONE of this stuff is anywhere near interesting, i mean some of it is but so limited and so random/not needed and we have a whole laundry list of other ways to explore class skills to make viable new builds..and we get this...i know its still early but from the way previous seasons patches went and are now here, they generally dont change a lot, so what we see here is mostly what we will get, minor tweaks aside
You really do have to wonder if they even read forums or get feedback, they seem to just do whatever they feel like or think is cool, there seriously hasnt been a time when i was like man that is awesome and that was from the community! good job!...its more like..."oh look set dungeons....*crickets chirping* like last season
Its awesome how much d3 has come from launch, and its still a good game, but every patch seems to be worse, or at least the same, nothing at all to be excited or even fun anymore, d3 seems pretty dead, and i dont program or know anything but to me it would seem d3 is probably blizzards least-technical game to update and develop for?
If you look at how complex wow is, and even sc2 and the ongoing hearthstone cards/expansions...d3 we cant even get item updates right, and those we do get, we dont want, and didnt ask for, and they are for the wrong reasons....what gives?

I love the free sets because it allows people to just hop in, and progress, it still takes a little time to get to the 3 requirements, not that long but just long enough to get you going in seasons, and now you have a set, not having to farm 20 hours to get it like before, so you are having fun..sooner...and how is that a bad thing?
It simply is a way to jump right in and start killing, vs farming for hours in hopes you get the set pieces, some are lucky...others not so much (I'm in the rng hates me group myself) and i think them rotating the sets this season is awesome because i really didn't care for shadow set for DH last season, i mean sure it was op as hell, and i liked the playstyle difference..but ehhh....Marauders with pets and turrets etc looks way more fun, and even a multi build with it (i used dark fiend set multi last season)
So i think they have achieved their goals, updated sets, balance, exciting new stuff, and not a lot of super big changes to seasons so that everyone can enjoy it, casual or not, they have done that and can only get better as we go.

awesome video, i agree with everything he said, quin is amazing, funny and insightful. That video of that monk with the new mog and build looks so insane, clearning entire screens like that, man i cant wait to be clearing that fast in s6 again, and it looks super fun to play too. looking forward to more videos as we get closer to s6 start.

going to have to agree here, i mained WD ever since vanilla, pretty much. I love dh and clearing speed is soooo much quicker when geared. I do like the WD setup with the chicken and what not, I've tried it but it does take some skill more so than DH multi build, i am maxed on gear on both toons this past season, my wd is full ancient, so i know pretty well both classes/builds.
I think from a clearing standpoint at least under 50 (I've never made it past 55 ish with any toon, never pushed myself was lazy) that multi fire is a beast for clearing entire rooms fast, plus all the natural speed of dh, and with vault, smoke, it just cruises. Where as WD you have to kinda set yourself up a little more, placing chicken bombs, and yes it can outrun a DH if done right but its not as easy as DH is where you just run and gun and i think personally i love the DH play-style of that build better, than the constant bomb and go of WD.
And as was said the chicken bomb doesn't scale as well pushing past 50, where DH multi will still melt pretty well 55+ from what i gather, i did really fine at 50-52 on my DH without pushing, and my WD with full ancient helltooth, zombie/firewall build pushed i think 56 before i retired him (started playing fallout 4....) so yeah i just think personally DH > WD for clearing, but obviously when skilled the WD just does just as good..i just didn't prefer that play-style, i tried to like it, just didn't appeal to me, and i wasnt very good at it as a result.
Either way i am super excited about s5, DH and WD are both going to be stupid op, and I'll be trying out Crusader as main, as i skipped Crusader season 4, but those new builds and videos I've been watching, Crusader looks to finally get some love in s5.
Monks and barbs same ol boring builds, a few new tricks and toys but those 2 feel like been there done that (to each their own)

UE for sure. Impale i always cleared most mobs anyways, obviously less efficient, but how i set it up was that i basically am lazy and have veng on the num lock trick, so i hover my hand on shift and 1-4, and just hold right click down, and vault through aiming at whatever moves, while spamming vault for movement...works well. reason shift is that you can control when and where you stop to kill stuff, so its a game of shift, impale mobs, vault and shift to stand and impale mobs, vault, vault, shift...etc
for MS its a bit different, and faster. dont have to hold shift nearly as much, just hit vault, and 1 (for me, 1 is shadow power with the speed rune) and just keep moving, only right clicking for multi when needed, but now that its buffed, you don't fire off nearly as many multi's and use up nearly as much hatred as before, so you can focus the entire build more for speed, than raw dps, which means its way way faster and it clears entire rooms at a time, rather than impale that only can hit 3 targets at a time, and sometimes the stragglers get annoying or i guess just keep moving
MS clears everything, although this isnt super important in the long run, it feels better to kill everything than to only skip through to elites, but this is talking from a purely t13 speed run, obviously it changes when you do GR's, but for farming t10-t13, why not clear everything and all floors, more loot and xp, and gold for the goldwrap (which makes you pretty much invincible for anything that hits your armor, but look out for magic attacks)
You can tear through a t13 when geared decently (not stupid geared like 1500+ para, all augs and primals etc) under 2 min ish easily, which impale can maybe do but you'd need to play really well, and speed through, skip stuff, and hope for a good rift...where MS you simply enter and spam multi, and vault/speed run through, done. I've heard can even do sub 1:30 ish clears when geared, which i can see possible given how fast you can clear when you have avarice, hoarder, couple other things made for pure absolute 400% speed bonus, MS is a monster
so TLDR; MS is far superior for speed clearing t13 for dbs and keys, impale for higher GR's for gems imo.

all valid points, and yeah it is kinda pointless, but to me idk i just have a strong feeling of having proper stats or feel that its at least correct, even how trivial it really is.
and yeah you are right, mainstat doesnt even matter after a certain point, it really doesnt even add that much to your dps, point per point, only when you have significant amount in paragon that it can be shown that 3k or 4k more int sure does give a nice boost, but a few 100? barely a few k more dps, if that
so yeah its something to consider and i guess i just wont worry about it, but its the rpg/game oriented mind in me that sees small little things, when trying to maximize or min/max or even micro-manage stuff in games, that has always been an itch for me.
And yeah if we got something of worth from the stats from our followers, it would change a lot, but followers are mostly just buff/debuff tools
1
probably been brought up before but wouldn't it be awesome if stats were more universal. In wow you have gear that switches from 1 main stat to another based on your spec.
In d3, i find it kinda annoying that if i main a WD for example its good synergy with my wizard, and the int follower, but that same gear is kinda useless for any str or dex wearers.
Yes i know the game is based on finding gear on the toon you are playing, and yes i am aware you can enchant 1 stat for another, and can even just log on a str toon and re-roll it to str. But this seems a workaround, when all they would have to do is do like wow has it, and when you put on that shield on your templar it turns int into str, and vice versa.
wow and d3 have so many features these days that are borrowed from each other, many argue that it is to much as is, but i think this minor annoyance if fixed would make quality of life for gear that much better.
And yeah again i can go farm another shield if i want str on my crusader, but there are some pretty rare items, so if i happen to get something on my wd, that my crusader needs, and now its int. This is how the game works, and is intended, and it would make the gear grind less, which this game is all about the gear grind.
so some will argue that it shortens farming time which shortens lifespan of game, but the pros is that you dont have to sacrifice mainstat for enchanting it, and not have to farm multiples of the same items
For example, templar needs freeze of deflection, i have 2 of them on my wd, both int, i'd like to use it on my templar, but unless i enchant or re-roll it, which is what currently i have to do. Then i go to my wizard and she uses Templar, so I'd have to do it again...and again.
If the shield simply switched from int to str when i plop it on my templar, problem solved, done. Gear swapping, holding onto multiple copies of items, with different mainstats, taking up precious space will be done.
Even if they just added a simple way to push a button or added a new recipe for cube to 'switch mainstat to mainstat" (int to str) i'd be ok with that, if they feel its trivial to just auto switch it, they could make a way to do it, outside of enchanting/re-rolling the item on another toon.
again its a minor annoyance, but one that i feel strongly about and hope someday they will address it, or come up withing something better.

i mean it would be cool to have an arena pvp where it has an entirely different progression/leveling system for pvp, where everyone starts at level 1 but instead of fighting monsters you duel people and in groups, and gain power/xp by winning matches and kills etc. Progression would be slow, and selective, only opening up a handful of skills, and each one tuned to pvp and having secondary effects (think dh with grenades, adds a slow effect to it for example)
The main issue is, you cant just let it be free for all because there's people out there who are best in slot geared, doing grfit 100, have every single piece augmented, 2000+ paragon etc, so how do you scale that guy down to a newer player entering the fight, who is only half the gear, maybe paragon 500, etc, and its unrealistic to think player B with 500 can or will want to grind to the gear/paragon of player A in any extreme amount of time that it takes to achieve player A's status. (mixing pve with pvp is mixed bag/bad idea...took wow 11 years to figure that out)
So you could have pre-made setups, with pre-determined gear, and let players play it out with skill, but i still think players should work their way up the ranks, and gather xp and experience and skills as they go, rather than given everything, or there could be both modes, those who want some quick action for a few hours of killing to those who want to really learn/play from the beginning, I know i would play both
There also would either have to be a buff to health/armor or extreme nerf to damage to players, because I'm sure a lot of you tried the little dueling area, and got 1 shot by your friend, i know i did, and it was stupid. All my crusader friend had to do was spam hammers at the start, and before could even react, dead....weee that was fun!..not (millions of damage to my 700k health)
So yeah i think with the right thoughts and beta testing and ideas from the community they could really make a cool pvp system in d3, but they just dont prefer it or think the game needs to/has to go in that direction, but myself, and 1000's of others disagree, and have been saying this since launch
but d3 has been out now for what 5 years? (or 4) the ship has passed on the pvp thing, if they were going to do it, it would of been done by now, they arent tomorrow going to be like oh we got this pvp system going now, only 4 years to late guys!...wishful thinking....

yeah thats kinda how i felt this season, botting while i slept i could get say 2k breaths and then i could hop on and roll gear for an alt get all setup, and progress. Now without botting, obviously I'd have to play those hours, and not nearly as efficient, and with breaks, stops and pauses along the way, 2k breaths is a decent amount, but can get 1-2k breaths per hour solo, but just using numbers as example.
My point is, I constantly ran into points where progress was so slow because of the lack of time i could put into it, and rather than just do a tiny bit of progression at a time, botting allowed me to run for hours, then gear up and get over that hump, and then i could play to 70gr+ legitly and make progress and have fun. Progress in d3 comes down to mats like deaths breath, and then bounty mats, crap ton of both (1000's) are needed.
So to me it was more a mix of the 2, botting and legit play, so that i could get all the mats, and keys, and then be able to play and have fun, and run grifts with friends, and have 800 paragon to max out my alts from level 1, which of course makes it easier.
It also allowed me to gear alts up quickly, because its like any other rpg, once you have done the grind the first time, or few toons, gearing that 4th alt is just so boring and tedious that botting is amazing cuz now you can just set it and forget it, till its decent level and then can play in end game
So i saw it more as a tool to use that smoothed my progression so that if i wasnt able to play for a day, or a night, just fire up a bot, and i could at least gather mats, so when i had the time to play i could play legitly and have toons ready to go.
So i guess botting basically removes the "boring" bits, which i guess kinda defeats most of the game's core, which again begs the question...how to make the grind aucutally fun/interesting again?
0
personally i always have seen botting as just a convenience and catch up tool, for casuals. I am a casual, i dont play 10+ hours a day usually, i have a family, i work, depending on day i have church, family get together, birthdays, but i still made it to almost 900 paragon, fairly easily, far more than i did last season, which was about 750 ish (without botting)
Each season seems to get easier and faster for paragon, next season i'll push for 1000+. Botting is just for those times when you are gone for a day, or at work or sleeping, to make up those gap in times so that you arent falling behind your friends, i felt that a real disadvantage last few seasons by people who can play more, I'd be at para 400 and they would all be 600, so by botting that gap closes really fast, and allows me to have more fun when i do have the time to sit and play for 10 hours sometimes on the weekends.
Do i NEED to bot? no...do i want to? sure its pretty lucrative, gives me stupid amount of crafting mats, bounty mats, allows me to cherry pick drops, auto-salvage, auto-town run, oh and the hundreds of keys too, and thats usually within a few nights worth.
Would i miss botting if it was outright stopped? no probably not, i understand why its bad and why all the negative stuff but i also can see all the good it does on a personal level, i dont see it as bothering others or my friends, it aucutally helps enjoy the game more, because when you look at it, you are wasting 100's of hours doing the same things, monotony, i mean yeah thats the game, thats how these games work, but if i can cut down the time i sit in front of the screen doing those things over and over and over, and i can be sleeping or working, its a pretty easy choice.
I'm neutral on bot thing, bot if you want, dont if you dont, it is what it is. I still have fun in this game and thats really what matters. I haven't even logged in the last month having completed season journey and geared 4 toons to 70+ gr, there wasnt a lot to do till next patch. Also been playing more wow and shadowbane emulator server.

paragon would be fine if it continued to scale higher, than static values like we have now. For example, why since it was introduced do we only get say 50% crit damage? has never changed. Problem with paragon is that once you max all them out, its just stat stick basically, its boring and you do it cuz you pretty much have to, idk anyone who says i dont want that 5% crit or 50% crit damage I'll just put all into str, and ignore everything else?
But when you have all 4 pages maxed, which really doesn't take that long, even casually, i was able to reach 800 this season and my highest personal grift is 70 ish, with a few classes, those who are doing 80/85+ obviously are leveling way faster but still
Just an update for the paragon system would be ok for now until they can overhaul it, stretch it out some, give us say 100% crit damage, 10% crit, maybe even add attack speed in there somewhere, increase cooldown reduction to 20%...take some of those things we have to stack on our gear so we can focus more on drops and ancients than min/maxing or even gives different options, if i had another 10% of cdr (20% total) in paragon i could switch up gems in helm, i could roll something else on shoulders...free up some of the super stacks of 1 stat a little give some breathing room for customization or other stats that get ignored (area damage, leech, etc)
gold find is worthless as well, i mean not worthless but its always the last thing to max and it just increases gold found by a small %, only people who appreciate it are the ones who build +gold find sets and run vaults bragging about how many billions they have (gold is also a problem in this game...)
keep gold find but add magic find back or something, that would be far far better and use of points than gold find.
how about add some passives in there, 1 point each that say one is "increases the stat contribution of your equipped gems by 10%" or something like that..rather than jacking up a bunch of stats, add kinda a talent/skill passive thing that can choose more different and variety of things
Tldr; overhaul/update the paragon system...its about time!

Druid and assassin again, would be great. melee/spell-caster hybrid for druid, and melee/ranged hybrid for assassin. I think with DH in 2.4 and the start of the impale and different DH playstyles, is there way of testing things out a bit, that play style is pretty cool, and i think if they added assassin they would be kinda similar to that, with traps, combos, impale-like attacks etc, so jump in and out of range and set up mobs (controller for gr's?) although might be to similiar to DH (maybe that was thier inspiration originally for demon hunter?)
Druid would be awesome as well, bring back shape shift stuff, and massive group buffs, and the plant vines etc, i could def see druid as a huge boon for support for gr's, and they had some really cool spells in d2 (although they were pretty weak damage wise). I'd love to see a pet build as well, crows, wolves, bears etc.
In order to incorporate both classes, i think they should also think about splitting stats. Like instead of the same old stats like only dex for monks and DH, why not add in additional benefits from say int or str, and then have gems that are multi-color too, a dex/str gem for example, or int/str. Instead of just stacking all dex gems like current (or resist gems for toughness)
make int give you resists innate for all classes, so you'd consider dex/int gems rather than straight dex, or even specific colors like emerald now grants attack speed and crit chance...basically overhaul the gems/stat system so that the 2 new classes could be an awesome hybrid type setup, which would add more variety, more variety of stats/min and max and gems, because currently the whole system is extremely bland/boring/old
Druid would use dex/str/int for example, dex for crit/speed (wolf bonuses with it) and then str for bear and attack power, and int for resource/resists for caster stuff, they could even add in a talent that takes your dex and converts into str or int (say 5 to 1) so if you happen to have more dex you can kinda control stats better smooth out highs and lows
Ruby gems grant crit chance and % to max weapon damage idk...there's a lot that could be done still.

also...since when did the legendary sword Sever drop for witch doctors...I've got 100's of hours across 2 full geared and farmed wd's and i dont think have seen sever drop in recent memory, it drops all the time for my monk, as its a 1handed sword (just like bardiche never has dropped for wd)
kinda strange the 2nd legendary i get out of 2.4 so far is a oddball sword drop, that i have like never seen drop for wd, there's items that simply arent supposed to drop for certain classes or just have an extremely low drop %...so...either i am super lucky to get a sever or was not meant to happen, free forgotten soul either way lol

k so kinda a spoiler alert, but i patched, jumped on my best toon, t8 and i'm following the grey island area, killing everything, i made it a tower with a spirit and some kind of ritual..but i think its glitched, there's 2 bodies at the top cant interact with either one, and when i click on the spirit below it gives me
https://imgur.com/Ftj1yeY
i'm guessing the end part is bugged cuz i cant start it up, sadface, guess i'll keep exploring other areas
this is the event i'm talking about, this nezera dude is supposed to start some event, but neither body is clickable, no nothing, pretty sure its glitched

almost done downloading...its stop and go in a few places but speed wise its moving pretty quick, so cheers for that

so yeah...LETS CRASH THE PATCH SERVER...lol...seriously this is going to be a slow download at first as 10 million people all try to jam their butts in there to get it, we will see..its downloading...kinda froze...crossing fingers we have no issues as soon as everyone logs in though (vanilla launch 2.0)

i guess but i didnt mean power up all my gear, just play around with it, the powering of gear is more for seasons end game, and yeah its just its a little overwhelming for 3 days, to try to do all the set dungeons
I feel that if i dont get them done before Friday then I'll be doing seasons, and I'll need the character slots that my non-season toons are taking up, thus ill have to swap more gear over to more mules, and delete toons, which also removes the advantage of having 2 of each class to divide up the sets easier, which i guess isn't a huge loss, just easier with 2, and less mules/stash space to try to organize 24 sets...
Far easier to store and mule stuff in non-season than it is in season, not to mention the time and effort to level up several 70's, when i already have 10 70's in non-season right now, all geared up and waiting vs months of re-leveling/farming
I'm just excited about 2.4 and s5 i guess we are lucky to even get it and get it when we will.
0
I got to looking through my items and sets tonight, i had so much i made a handy excel sheet to keep track, a inventory list. (keeps me organized)
what i realized, was that i have 18 or 19 of the 24 sets completed, the only ones i still need are all 3 or 4 crusader ones since i didn't play crusader last season and my original crusader from ros launch is long-abandoned (he's still wearing crafted 2.0 legs and some rares...uggh)
So i also happened to have basically 2 of every class, i never deleted my original toons (my dh from vanilla is over 600 hours on her and i hadnt even played her since 2.0 patch....) so when i did season 4 i just created new of each class, so i ended up with 2 of each class except for crusader in "non-season" now
So i thought well that makes it easier to do those new set dungeons, i can divide up the sets, 2 sets per 2 toons of each class (dh1 will take marauders, and Natalya for example, dh2 takes other 2 sets)
great and all, but then it dawned on me that patch 2.4 is Tuesday (12th) and s5 starts Friday (15th)...that's 3 days to try to do all 24 set dungeons, power up gear with new cube recipe, explore new zone etc, cram all that in, is pretty much impossible
sure, i can do them after s5 starts, but since i have 2 of every toon, gives me very little time to shuffle all gear onto mules (I'll need several...) delete s4 toons, do my 3 rebirth toons, and start leveling, i was wanting to do get the set dungeons or at least most of them out of the way BEFORE s5 starts
because I'll fall behind leveling and what not, but wont reach end game sets to do set dungeons for prob a least a month or longer in season, and my non-season toons are all set up and ready to do set dungeons, i want the wings and rewards for doing all 24...
kinda lame that we didn't get a week even to get prepared for s5 after 2.4 went live...but 3 days is all we get, and I'll still try to cram as much as i can on non-season i can, but sucks either way...cuz I'll be playing season exclusively

Its kinda weird in a way that i actually want to play the console version of d3 FOR the modding/cheating...because i have played d3 since classic beta, and always had average gear and farmed and did all the game legit, i think it would be cool to mess around and max out paragon and import any item, any gem i want to really see true "have everything" kind of thing, what its like to be that 0.5%
The only downside though is, that with the hacks it can affect other players and i dont condone that at all. I think as long as you are offline or even with friends who are like-minded that want to just mess around and be insanely geared, its ok but if you take it online and ruin other players experiences, especially brand new players, that just sucks
I never played legit d2 that much, back then there was crappy dial up and by the time i got high speed cable it still was always a miss for me, i would always lag out or get dc'ed a lot and the games would always time out when trying to jump into a game, never had a consistent experience on the battle.net ladder side, so i always played open bnet and hacked, cheated, modded my way to the fun stuff
I spend 100's of hours modding, hacking, editing items, sharing them with others collecting absurd items, it was almost a game in itself once the game got boring, there was infinite amount of replay through hacking the game, using Item import apps, mods, all that stuff and i was a part of that community for many years.
So for D3, i haven't took the plunge yet but i think i may dabble into the dark side a bit someday just to see the inner-workings and break the game, see its limits...
