Same here, seems they decided to make wow/firebirds synergy and so far it is decent. That said, I have not tested it on anything above GR1 cause I keep crashing
The pet AI is much improved on the ptr, they no longer stand around gazing dreamily into space while the elites/boss smash you into oblivion. That being said, they will still run off and attack random trash mobs instead of focusing on the boss/elites. The issue is that pets have collision, so only x number can be focused on what you are attacking. Those that cannot hit what you are attacking will search for a new target, and attack that. It feels to me on the ptr that they increased the range certain pets can attack from (gargantuan, big dog) so those always seem to be on your main target the majority of the time.
Rimeheart + frostburn probably mandatory to make this skill work well at high torment level. Even then will be far less than optimal with the proposed changes to channeling skills.
If you have 12M toughness and die "a lot" my guess is you have too much HP and not enough mitigation. Most people I see who complain about dying too often have neglected the % reduced melee/ranged/elite damage affix on items. It should also be noted that using a 6 piece set for any class tends limit the defensive gear that you can wear, and as such you are sacrificing defense for potent offense. In my view jade WD do best in group with a pull monk, which controls the mobs and reduces other party members needs for defense.
As a side note, spirit walk is a great defensive skill, as is horrify.
I've been crafting Aughild's bracers for the past week, had something on the order of 5k arcane dust, now I have none. Still.. that's what happens when you are trying to roll perfect 5 affixes (roll sixth with enchanting). In my case I'm looking for physical %, high int, high vit, 6% crit, - melee and - ranged.
It does give me a reason to keep playing though... a carrot at the end of the stick to strive for.
I had a t6 rift on my WD like this solo... was super annoying due to the amount of knockback and getting charged from off-screen, but it was doable. If you play WD just need to be quick hitting spirit walk when getting charged. Even 2 or 3 packs of exarchs charging at once is survivable if you are paying attention. Also I did this on a pet doctor and those mobs destroy pets, involves a lot of re-position and awareness.
In my opinion I would reroll the arcane resist secondary to something useful like - range damage percent, or if you have a lot of trouble with firechains or lightning enchanted to the appropriate resist type
Chain reaction explosions will overlap between casts, i.e. when I have empowered shrine/channeling pylon I recast eb and charge up exploding while still having explosions from the previous cast occur. I prefer chain reaction over shortfuse for the marginal dps increase and the ability to have explosions going off while i run through trash mobs killing them. Also i use my mouse software to auto cast as spamming explosive blast manually was going to result in me quitting d3.
The scorched spiders or whatever they are called that you sometimes fight in rifts take 50% fire damage... very annoying on my explosive blast fire wizard
I found a krider on my wizard, rolled with dex was a pretty nice hand me down for my DH alt. That being said, it will happen... might take 400 hours of play, might take 1. If you sole purpose playing is to find one though, I suspect you will get burnt out. Play for fun and the legendaries will come!
I have been wanting to get a moonlight ward and mirrorball to go with my wand of woh and switch from fire to arcane. My original intention was to run a hybrid explosive blast/arcane torrent build, but seeing how much damage MM does with mirrorball I might forgo the arcane torrent and just wave of force to quickly dump AP and then MM + EB for sustained, should be huge edps even over longer fights.
I am currently using a wand of woh build, and the majority of my damage comes from explosive blast. The cooldown reduction is incredible and the most op stat for EB builds. You can get an easy 60% from gear plus use the shrine gloves for empowered shrine and easily do 50M effective dps with 1m sheet dps. So my advice is reroll attack speed which mostly shows up as only a sheet dps boost and not a real dps boost (due to AP limitations).
